That's incredible news @zamora_spin!! Does your REs office provide any updates prior to day 6 (for those that made it to day 5 blasts) or is that the next step to wait for?

Does anyone use Design Rx First Steps for discounts? I received an email this morning. I read it as my discount ends on Dec 31 & I wont be eligible again. Anyone else?
@beachbunnyxo123@lulu1180 From what I recall of what the embryologist said yesterday, they do check on everything as it progresses, and I'm expecting to get a report on day 3 of how many we still have going, but it's also possible we'll get even more interim reports. I believe she said day 5 is Monday, and that they will in some cases go to day 7 so we should know total that made it to freeze next Wednesday. I will be a total maniac with that portal link. My IVF nurse called me to see how I am today and I actually was the one who told her total mature and fertilized, lol, she was excited we have 10 going and even said maybe we'll end up with 5-6 PGS normal (umm, that seems crazy right? I find that extremely unlikely).
eta - also, the bloat is so real. I felt totally fine until mid-morning today and then suddenly felt super bloated. I got on the scale and I'm up just a bit less than what they said I should be concerned about (up about 5.5 pounds and they said to call if I'm up 6.5). I'm at work briefly but I think I'm going to go home and weigh myself again in a couple hours to see if I should call them before they close. I'm trying to stick with electrolyte drinks but did have some water at lunch. I feel like I've now read conflicting things - should I eat salty things or no?
@zamora_spin I'm glad your RE gives you updates often (although I guess that could be both a blessing and a curse) and hope that you get more that are PGS normal than not! As for the bloat, I'm sorry that you're experiencing that; from what I've read on here, I think salty snacks are good in this situation. But since I haven't gone through it myself, take that with a grain of salt; this is just what I remember seeing from others going through the same thing

@zamora_spin I was told protein and electrolytes, not salt. I wasnt told no salt, but my RE was more concerned about protein and sorta waived me away when I asked about salt. How are you feeling otherwise?

for those of you that had an endometrial biopsy and hysteroscopy, did insurance cover anesthesia? I knew it wouldn’t cover my ER (and was $700) but I just got the claim from insurance and they didn’t cover anything and it was $1400. (It still has to go through Kory’s insurance) but I was expecting mine to cover it for some reason. And any idea why it would be double?
@zamora_spin I was told salty foods. The blood is from fluids and the salty foods absorbs some. I would call though it doesn’t hurt just to check they might have you come in tomorrow just to be sure. How are you feeling now?
@purplg8r i have no IF coverage but since a hysteroscopy is medical it did cover that so the anesthesia was “covered” but I had to pay $800 coinsurance (which is 20% and they pay 80%). It should say in the policy if you have to pay coinsurance or hopefully not!

@zamora_spin I was all about the tortilla chips and coconut water. I definitely felt uncomfortable after the retrieval, but I was careful about not drinking regular water for about 48 hours, since it seemed like that and salty foods/protein had helped a lot of other ladies.
@purplg8r I think my doctor coded it specifically under endometritis, so I had to pay my copay amount for the anesthesia and another copay amount for the surgery. I would definitely call to check about that.
AFM My RE called and the first round of results are in. There were no signs of micropolyps or infection/endometritis in the tissue they took during my ERA biopsy. I think I was in shock when she told me because my husband said I was super calm telling him. We are still going to do the SIS in a few weeks to be sure, but I'm quite relieved.

@AlohaKumu Yes! I’m so glad you got good news! Also, thanks for the tips! @suzycupcake 16 eggs is awesome! I hope you get lots of mature and fertilized. Are you doing a fresh transfer at all or freeze all? @tamalahoops I felt pretty uncomfortable yesterday afternoon through evening, not intense pain but just so full it kind of hurt. TMI The post ER constipation was not helping. Things moved along a bit last night and I tried to be really good about protein and electrolytes yesterday and as of first thing this morning my weight dropped back down to only a pound or so over what it was day of ER which is much better feeling. I just need to try to keep it that way!
I love that the news so far this week has all been really good! Here's to hoping it continues to be just as good into next week!
Also, I finally watched This Is Us last night. Actual spoilers in the spoiler for anyone who may not have watched yet.
I wish they had expanded a little on Toby & Kate's journey but also understand that they only have an hour in which to tell the story. I started to tear up when Kate was giving her speech at her birthday party but started to full on cry at the end when they met again with the RE and she said she was going to take them on and perform IVF for them. Honestly, there's a part of me that would like to see the storyline take a turn for the worse before it gets better (they have a failed cycle before a successful one) but at the same time, I hate to see that happen to anyone, even if it's just a character on TV

Fm; Anesthesia wore off last night and the pain started. Tylenol wasn’t helping. This morning has been worse. My husband is going to pick up a couple tabs of something stronger. We are gonna take our dog to the dog beach tomorrow so I’m looking forward to that.
My coordinator told me on the phone earlier that 14/16 eggs were mature and got ICSId. 11 fertilized. She said we’d get another update on day 5. I asked if we would get a 3 day report and she said no. Whatever. It’s probably better this way. Personally, we’d rather hear the end result after PGS instead of thinking about it the entire time.

@suzycupcake Those are excellent results! I know some clinics only give a day 5 report and either way, you'd likely be stressing over it the entire 5 days. I hope you have some amazing plans scheduled to help keep your mind occupied! As for the pain, have you contacted the REs office to see if they can prescribe you something stronger? What I'm doing this cycle: DH has been stressed due to death on his father but we buried his last weekend so hoping to start having more sexy time.
How are things going: I'm new around here and need encouragement since we have been TTC just around a year. I'm 44 and my fertility doctor only gave 1 month of IUI treatment before saying I'm too old & they won't treat me. I feel used & taken advantage of by our health care provider but appealing to her boss didn't work. He said the side effects of Clomid they prescribed aren't worth the risk. Every month that goes by I just feel like I'm aging. My general doctor told me to wait 6 months last year before giving me the referral to fertility dept. So the only thing I can do is eat a fertility diet of eggs, salmon, avocados, and greens along with a handful of vitamins every day. At least they gave me a three month supply of Endometrin which I've been using to help my lining.
I'm hoping to get advise on other healthy changes we can try to improve egg quality. I just bought red raspberry leaf tea and will be drinking that for my lining.

@suzycupcake I think it’s pretty typical for labs to not give updates between fert and day 5. I’ve heard some labs don’t like to disturb the embryos too much. Hopefully the time will pass quickly. @wanna-b-a-mommie I’m sorry you’ve had this experience with your dr. Do you live somewhere you can get a second opinion? I think drs should be honest with your chances but ultimately fertility treatment is elective and if you want to pursue it and the risks to your health are minimal maybe there’s another dr out there who can help. Idk if you would consider it but if you want to carry and are having trouble with your own eggs there are options out there like egg donor or embryo donation. Not pushing those options but I’ve found sometimes people don’t know about them. @lulu1180
I agree I kind of hope Toby and Kate struggle a bit before success. It’s an awareness thing. When I’ve told people we’re doing IVF I’ve had people congratulate me - apparently they believe IVF means 100% chance of baby, and that’s just not true. I agree I hate to see people suffering but I feel like fertility issues are so underrepresented it’s important not to give a glossy overly positive picture.
Guys - got our day 3 update - we still have 10 embryos! I’m surprised and hoping we have a good crop also make it to the big day 5 for biopsy!
@zamora_spin That’s awesome news, I hope they all push all the way to 5.

@zamora_spin I’m so loving your update!! For the bloat, I ate tortilla chips and then stayed away from carbs for a little while.
@suzycupcake FX for a great fert report tomorrow!
for those of you that had an endometrial biopsy and hysteroscopy, did insurance cover anesthesia? I knew it wouldn’t cover my ER (and was $700) but I just got the claim from insurance and they didn’t cover anything and it was $1400. (It still has to go through Kory’s insurance) but I was expecting mine to cover it for some reason. And any idea why it would be double?
(Eta my question)

@suzycupcake that’s great news!
@purplg8r i have no IF coverage but since a hysteroscopy is medical it did cover that so the anesthesia was “covered” but I had to pay $800 coinsurance (which is 20% and they pay 80%). It should say in the policy if you have to pay coinsurance or hopefully not!

@zamora_spin We are freezing

@AlohaKumu that’s such a relief!
@suzycupcake mine only called on day 6 too. Hopefully the days fly by!

What I'm doing this cycle:
DH has been stressed due to death on his father but we buried his last weekend so hoping to start having more sexy time.
How are things going:
I'm new around here and need encouragement since we have been TTC just around a year.

@lulu1180
Guys - got our day 3 update - we still have 10 embryos! I’m surprised and hoping we have a good crop also make it to the big day 5 for biopsy!
