4.) GTKY: What’s your favorite holiday and what traditions do you plan to implement/continue to celebrate? Oh, this is a toughie for us/me because we don't really celebrate holidays We do have a tree that we put up in December, but that's mostly to house the ornaments we kind of collect. "But Echo, sounds like you celebrate xmas!" Seems like it! We got married on 12/25 and noticed that ornaments are a fun way to remember our travels, so we'll keep up with our tree and travel-related ornaments. Honestly I get more excited about beer festivals (and totally sad that I have to miss all of the Oktoberfesting this year. Just as well, I can't fit into a dirndl right now, and Alabama doesn't love beer festivals nearly as much as other places. Next year maybe! We're already requesting tiny lederhosen for Boy Child since the Bavarian Festival clothes are already going on sale in Germany right meow )

Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary?
I had my flu and tdap yesterday and both of my shoulders are so sore today! Plus I think I had a mild (but yuck) reaction to tdap last evening. Including some intense "gastrointestinal distress" lol
GTKY: What’s your favorite holiday and what traditions do you plan to implement/continue to celebrate?
My parents were always huge on Christmas and made it very special, which I would like to do as well. Not even a lot of gifts, just doing things together that the kids can count on and look forward too. They also worked really hard to get together with family often (we were spread out) and I really appreciate that as I am close with my aunts and cousins.
Same old, same old. So tired! Baby was crazy wiggly last week, and seems to be slowing down this week. I drank some orange Fanta last night to get her moving, and she went a little nuts from that. At least I know she is OK in there!
Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary?
Just raves! After failing my 1-hour GTT, I passed my 3-hour yesterday. My H and I also finished painting the baby's bedroom over the weekend, so I'm finally feeling like I'm starting to check things off my list. Which is good since I'm barely over 11 weeks out!
GTKY: What’s your favorite holiday and what traditions do you plan to implement/continue to celebrate?
Normally I'm all about the 4th of July. I usually like BBQing and drinking, and just enjoying Summer with friends! I didn't do any of that this year, and to be honest, I am counting down to Christmas! This year, Christmas means I'll have a brand new daughter in my arms, and I can't wait. I think we will need to figure out traditions as we go once we have LO here. I know once she is older, I'll want to do Christmas morning/presents with her at home with just immediate family, and I'm sure we will have to find a way to split up Christmas Day/Eve between my side and my in-laws. This year I'm not committing to do anything or go anywhere for Christmas- my EDD is less than 2 weeks before Christmas, and if I go past that at all, it could really be pushing it!
@echo-charlietango I love that you wear a dirndl to Octoberfest! When we make “the big move” I will have to share a pic of DD in her dirndl at octoberfest this year. SO cute. Also, sad for you that Alabama is not up to speed on beer fests. Lame.
I’m psyching myself up to get tdap and flu vaccines as well but worried about side effects!
GTKY: What’s your favorite holiday and what traditions do you plan to implement/continue to celebrate?
Halloween was always my childhood favorite but I haven’t celebrated it much as an adult. Looking forward to getting back into it when LO is older.
I also love Christmas, but DH and my traditions are quite different and even after 11 years together we still haven’t found the best compromise. In my family we went to mass, lit real candles on the tree and then opened gifts that night but DH insists on waiting till morning and of course is leery of fire! I’m also not really religious anymore so I don’t feel as strongly about the old traditions.
@rosebud332 Hells yes. You should see the pretzel & beef jerky necklaces my friend makes for us

@echo-charlietango ugh, i miss beer (and beer festivals). H brews beer as well and he is currently into my favorite of the whole year (a blackraspberry wheat) and every time he has one i'm jealous. He made a second batch that will be kegged and waiting for me after the baby, but i don't know if it will be quite as perfect with snow on the ground. he did make an octoberfest this year that we're going to serve at the baby shower and call octoberfiesta (lol taco theme). Anyway, apparently i can really get going about beer. I wanna beer. or 12.
@Desiree113 do it! It's worth it. The side effects are really minimal, and not even that common. You babe's immune system will thank you!
29 weeks tomorrow. At last weeks scan my MFM said it looks like baby boy is about 2 lbs 7 oz!
How are you feeling this week? Any new symptoms?
He's up in my rib cage, sleeping still sucks and of course this cold/cough doesn't help, I've finally reached the point where I pee a little if I cough or sneeze too hard.
Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary?
Finally got some cold/cough medicine that is safe for pregnancy. And bonus, it's Diabetic friendly! Woo!
GTKY: What’s your favorite holiday and what traditions do you plan to implement/continue to celebrate?
My favorite was always Christmas, but it's so different from when I was little since our families are split up throughout 3 different cities (my parents are divorced), so it just seems like more of a hassle anymore...DH loves Halloween, and really likes to go all out since he wasn't allowed to celebrate Halloween as a kid (MILs religious beliefs at that time, these have since changed and she's not against it anymore), so Halloween is a fun one for us. I also love 4th of July, cooking out all day and shooting off fireworks!
@morgantu Black raspberry wheat sounds divine! DH made beer once, and I want to give it a go, but we either have the time or the space - never both (boo!). I love that you’re planning on the baby shower being a kegger with your own Oktoberfiesta Brew

Exhausted. The insomnia & BH contractions just keep getting worse. Last night was my most restless night to date. Swelling started within the last day or two. Weird cravings continue. Today’s afternoon snack is a plate of fresh, salted radishes & a bottle of ginger ale. Mmm. My esophagus will hate me later.
Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary?
TMI alert, but I’m getting really, REALLY tired of being on pelvic rest. Not to mention, reality has set in that the earliest I’ll *possibly* be cleared is at 32 weeks (pending my next u/s) and by then I’ll be even more large and uncomfortable.
GTKY: What’s your favorite holiday and what traditions do you plan to implement/continue to celebrate?
I’m a huge fan of Christmas time. Growing up, my parents and I always made a Disney trip during the season, which has now extended to my parents + DH & I + the kids. We’re skipping it this year (for obvious reasons) but I’ll be excited to someday share that with this LO. Especially since it will be so close to his birthday.
How far along are you? How big is baby? 29 weeks tomorrow, size of a gallon jug of milk.
How are you feeling this week? Any new symptoms? Dece, but I'll be happy to get my weekly chiro adjustment on Thursday after having to skip it last week.
Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary? Rave is making it home finally. I'm le tired -- three + hours of driving after a flight is no fun. Luckily we got back with just enough time for me to unload the groceries I handily picked up on the way home, unbox the packages that came in the mail, and put the tot to bed! Now relaxing with my weekly glass of wine and Twin Peaks.
GTKY: What’s your favorite holiday and what traditions do you plan to implement/continue to celebrate? Pascha (Easter), but that's a recent favorite. Christmas is the Big Tradition one, and I always hope to make it more magical than it turns out being. But maybe now that I've got kids, ha. Goals: tree up the day after Thanksgiving, lots of Christmas movies, constant Christmas music, loads of baking, etc. Here's hoping we move to a place that actually gets winter sometime in the future!

How are you feeling this week? Any new symptoms? I'm feeling irrationally hormonal. My hubby and I have been bickering a lot lately because frankly him breathing pisses me off right now. Sigh. I'm trying to be sweet to him but in the back of my mind I want to slap him for sleeping so soundly next to me while I struggled all night. Poor guy.
Nothing new other than that really... lower back/hip pain is crazy right now and baby turned from transverse to head down the other day and now walking feels weird. I'm also at that stage where I can only sleep on one side for so long before I get crazy RLP and want to cry. What is sleep?
Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary? I think I just did that mixed in with my symptoms, oops. But to add, the boys are into their 3rd week of school and are bringing home ALL the germs! DS1 is hacking up a storm in bed right now, ugh.
GTKY: What’s your favorite holiday and what traditions do you plan to implement/continue to celebrate? It's always been Christmas. I love the traditions I've made with my older two and it's so magical seeing them enjoy it. However, I'm having a hard time with this year! The older boys have to go to Chicago to see their dad until the 29th and I've never had to be away from them on Christmas before (he's always lived here and we've split the day). I'm having a really, really hard time accepting it and I know it's just gonna be worse with the post baby blues. Trying to figure out how to get through that one still! I know my 2 year old will still have a fun day, but it's just not gonna be the same.
@orangecrush32 Sorry you have to be away from your boys on the holiday! That must be one of the hardest parts of coparenting. I hope you guys are able to have a nice day and maybe celebrate all together when they get home.
29w3 days and feeling pretty good besides terrible heartburn and constant burping. My 19 month old has has 6 consecutive nights is terrible sleep - he’s getting his 2 year molasses and has an ear infection plus he’s had a stomach bug so he’s super gassy and uncomfortable. So basically none of us are getting any sleep.
I love Thanksgiving. I love hosting at our house so we get to have the leftovers, but I doubt we’ll host this year just 3 weeks before LO is due! My favorite leftover dish is turkey tetrazzini, sort of a creamy turkey and pasta casserole. I always make two pans - one to eat now and one to freeze for later.
