@wishiwaspreggo I’m closer to Evansville, so about an hour and half south. Love Bloomington! We’re going to be there for the IU-Penn State football game in a few weeks.
Is that Deer Park like where the water bottles are from?
I want to say no because I have never seen Deer Park bottled water before. But I could be wrong.
@nopegoat 40 minutes depending on how you drive. Google told me 28 minutes. I bet my mil could make it in 15 to 20 😂

@casattack I just moved out of Florida (Treasure Coast) in July after lovliv there 11 years. Two girls from my old BMB lived in Florida also and we met up.

I googled it. The water isn't from here.

I live in Atlanta, just North of the city, but OTP ( outside the perimeter). We are starting to look for homes a bit more north though in order to get a bigger place.

I’m in the Greenville, SC area, so about 2 hrs away from Atlanta.
@laeberge3 - I've grown tired of living in Bloomington. It's really not a great place to raise a family. The majority of the residents here are college students (of course) or retirees. There are very few young families relative to other places, and it's hard to even find kids for my son to play with in the evenings. Oftentimes we'll go to our large local park and there will only be 1 or 2 other families around. Sometimes no one is even there and my son will ask "Where are the kids?" Plus I worry about the easy access to partying and alcohol he'd have here when he's older. He already sees college students playing beer pong out the window when we're driving through campus and he claps because he thinks it looks fun. And on top of that we have terrible schools, some ranking as bad as Gary's. One of our friends told us she went to our school district's kindergarten orientation and she asked about the curriculum. The teacher told her "Oh, we don't really do a lot of that. Most of the time we just try to keep the kids from fighting." Yup, we're moving before he starts kindergarten. 1.5 more years.
@wishiwaspreggo I get it. My love for Bloomington is as an IU student, but I can totally understand how it wouldn't be the greatest place to raise a family. We always joked that we had no idea where the "real" people lived in Bloomington and it sounds like there aren't many young families around. It's a great town culturally since they can be exposed to so, so much because of IU, but I always thought it'd be difficult to live there as an adult without some connection to the university. Indianapolis will be great for the family! I lived there for a few years while in law school and really loved it.
@laeberge3 - I was a student at IU, too! Got my master's degree and work for IU now as well so there are a lot of us in the IU community but, oddly, I don't get along with a lot of the moms here... they're too stuck up. They're very stodgy and serious, and use words like "pedagogy" in casual conversations. I make a joke about something and they don't laugh. My sense of humor is off-color, I get it, but come on. The women here need to lighten up. They also judge me for feeding my kid Cheeto's while they pull out their organic homemade bento boxes. Oh, and I met this one woman who told me that her son is so frustrated because he has such a vast vocabulary but can't express himself because he's too small to form the words himself. He was 1.
