I've gotten into this ridiculous habit of absentmindedly using my belly as a bongo drum when I listen to music. Poor baby can't catch a break. Who knows though, maybe it'll come out knowing morse code!

I think we have to find a new home for our dog. It breaks my heart to think about it, but he's been bitten me and my husband at least twice each and he just bit our son as well. He hasn't broken the skin, so it's not like a "get this dog out of here immediately" situation yet, but we definitely have to find a solution. I just don't even know the first step in a situation like this. Do we talk to his vet? We haven't found any training programs for aggression like this in our area. Ugh it's the worst.
Oh @BourbonBiscuits... This breaks my heart. I'm so sorry you are dealing with this. I am in the same boat. If you do want to work with your dog, some behaviourists do phone consults. Your vet would probably know of such ressources if Google isn't helpful. You really want an animal behaviourist, not a trainer for aggression.
My dog came to us with some serious resource guarding aggression. We got to know him better, worked with him and he generally chilled out, to the point that I thought it was no longer an issue. Yesterday he bit me when I went to pick up a bit of napkin he had shredded. It was incredibly upsetting. He hadn't done anything of the sort for at least a good 6 months, maybe even a year.
@BourbonBiscuits I am so sorry to read that. It's so hard to make decisions like this one. I would agree with the suggestions Becks gave you. We have a few dog behaviorists in our area that do phone and also in home consults. Sending you some love.
I’m sorry @BourbonBiscuits! That is such a difficult thing to deal with. I hope your vet is able to give you some pointers, or at least get you in touch with someone who can help!

When I was getting ready for work this morning, H told me my boobs look fake. He has enough tact to not say if he thinks it’s an improvement or not, but now I feel self conscious! My boobs have always been on the smaller side (compared to others I guess they still are), and now I feel like they’re really in-your-face huge. Time to start wearing sack shaped dresses and scarves!

@BourbonBiscuits I'm so sorry. Definitely talk to your vet to see if he/she can recommend a behaviorist. Another option, if your vet isn't very helpful, is to call some of the area rescues and see what behaviorists they'd recommend. A lot of rescues do extensive work with their foster dogs to get them rehomed, and have good relationships with area behaviorists. Some good rescues that I worked with or know of in Louisville are Barktown Rescue and Shamrock. I fostered with Derby City Dog Rescue and they were a little disorganized and not as helpful, but that was five years ago and they may have improved since then. Anyway, a lot of rescues will be more than happy to recommend a behaviorist, especially since they're very interested in keeping dogs in homes and out of shelters. If you do decide to rehome your dog, please try to find a home yourself rather than giving the dog to the humane society. Kentucky Humane is a no-kill shelter, but a lot of dogs develop worse behaviors after spending time in a shelter (such as the dog that I fostered). I think Barktown and Shamrock will post to their websites for you, to help you get the word out.

I am having the hardest time finding a good cheeseburger deal for today. I saw one where if you download the Wendy's app then you get a free cheeseburger. I downloaded the app and it said the Wendy's next to my work does not do mobile ordering. It looks like I might be forced to pay money for a cheeseburger for lunch.

@BourbonBiscuits when we got our pup we took him to classes at pet smart. Our trainer was amazing. I know she does one on one sessions for dogs with behavioral issues, so maybe you can look into some classes. This is a tough situation, but you’ll get through it.
I was MIA all weekend. Both of my kids were sick - after being at the pedi on Thursday with DD (ear infection), I took my DS to the pedi Sunday for a wicked case of croup.
*TW: loss of a pet* Our dog was sick Saturday (but her puking multiple times wasn’t out of the ordinary). But then Sunday she wouldn’t eat her bland diet (not even from my hand which, spoiled pup alert, she would always do after gettting sick) and didn’t want to get up (husband had to carry her outside to pee but then she walked around okay enough). We were going to take her to the vet yesterday morning (they open at 8). My DD came in to our room at 6:30a saying Mischa had puked again A LOT on the floor in living room. It wasn’t puke though and she wouldn’t move. At all. Wouldn’t lift her head, nothing. I started to panic. DH and I cleaned up the mess and moved her to a blanket. We went about our morning to get her kids ready for school and I checked in on Mischa periodically. I went over and sat with her, she looked at me, I told her it would be okay and we’d go to the vet soon. Went back to do my DD’s hair, came back into the living room where she was laying and she passed away. It was surreal. Trying to then figure out what the F to do with the kids fluttering about (they knew she was resting before seeing the vet). My DH was able to get her out of the house and into his trunk while I kept the kids busy. We didn’t want to tell them 15 mins before school and then ship them off so we just said she was resting outside before the Vet. Gut wrenching. My DH took her to the pet crematory and we told the kids after school. My DD (6.5) took it super hard - lots of tears and emotions. My DS (3.5) doesn’t really get it and keeps asking when Mischa will come home. Heartbreaking. Mischa lived a very long 14 years and while we knew her days were numbered, it still felt all so sudden.
So yeah. That was my weekend/ Monday. Sigh. I’m emotionally drained and eating a strawberry shortcake bar for lunch.

@okayestmom12 Oh I'm so sorry. And to have to hold it all together for your kids so that they'd be able to function in school that day... Wow. Lots of hugs to you. Pets are like family, and the grief process is real and intense when they leave us.
Ugh I’m sorry for both @BourbonBiscuits@okayestmom12. I’m worried about my pup. She’s declined quite a bit in the last year. Shes only 8 but large breed. She’s got arthritis and has lost quite a bit of weight for no reason that could be found. Poor girl is skinny and limping.
@okeyestmom12 I am so sorry to see this. I had that happen when I was younger with our poodle. I hope peace finds you soon!

Talk to the vet and one thing I noticed with our guys(both are labeled as special needs) always look at the situation fully. Was there extra stress? Did the pupper show any signs ahead of time? And since he hasn't broken skin he just gave warning bites so try to figure out why. Does he have too much energy and no outlet? A behaviorist will be super helpful even if it is just an emailed question. My old buddy is super anti social and will aggressively attack strangers he doesn't know if not introduced correctly. It is a whole process. And then the young one is high anxiety to where the vet put him on prozac for awhile. Then we found this awesome natural anti stress/anxiety med we get through the vet called Soliquin. Took a week or so to get in his system but it is amazing. Please keep us posted and good good luck! Try not to panic about it too much because the pup will sense that and be on edge more.
Since the other post was so long decided to do 2 different ones. We got an instant pot which seems to be helping! Hubby and I both work and I have been so tired so we would just eat out alot. This will help save us money! Looking for great ideas.
@hnbergeron I loveeee my instant pot. I made Zuppa toscana in it last night! HB eggs (when eggs are not gross to me), Bolognese sauce, pork chops, Cuban steak...skinny taste has some great recipes (like the Cuban pressed steak). And you can usually convert a slow cooker meal to IP..
