My toddler wakes up with this ridiculous rats nest in her hair every morning no matter what I do to try to remedy it the day before. Thank sweet baby Jesus that she isn’t tender headed because it’s a PITA to untangle.
Oof that's wild esp since her hair is so straight. We are taking my cannot-stop-moving 2 year old to his first Cubs game today. (Not my idea! ). Wish us alll the luck to make it to maybe the 3rd inning?! We shall see!

I refuse to take my kids to Cubs games yet. We try to go to at LEAST 1 a year (It’s almost a 6 hour drive) but that’s *my* fun time! I refuse to leave games early though.
I thought we were missing out this year but last minute decided we will be going on the 29th of this month (with my FIL who is a diehard STL fan).
I think I’m going to attempt taking my 3 year old to a movie before baby gets here. Never tried before. Going to attempt it on a cheap day just in case.

My son was HORRIBLE at movies until he was at least 5, but Lou went before she was 2 and was decent. Good luck! Maybe an early matinee or something right after nap time would work best.

I actually thought of doing that the other day too! She doesnt sit for movies (does 10min count) but I Feel being in that atmosphere it may change and she will actually watch..
I’ll be looking for the shortest movie ever made lol. She does okay at home, hoping the atmosphere will help too. Local one does $5 Tuesdays so I think that’s our best bet.
*RANT**So my normal OB is great but these on call people they have on the weekend just suck butt. Last time I had massive stomach pains and they said we can't help. Glad I went to the ER then since it turned out to be appendicitis. Now I have a respiratory infection that my OB on Thursday told me to call if it got worse. It got worse and the on call said we don't handle that. Are you freaking kiding me? What is the point of an on call if you aren't going to help. *end rant***
@cmjenkies- yeah it was def not my idea. My SO got the tix for today because it is cards and he is from StL, and thought how hard can it be?! Haha uh we shall see. I did spend the morning showing my son videos and explaining the game simply, and teaching him "go Cubs" which is how he greeted his dad when he work up this morning, hahaha. Sorry, no other Cards fans here, dude! My SO also wanted us to take him to see the Christopher Robin movie, @madreofdragons . I was like, oh cool, does that happen on a playground because I cannot imagine any reality in which he is going to sit in one place that long!?! He juuuust turned two. Good luck and please report back!
I'm 18 weeks pregnant, but my bump looks like I'm further along than that, at least compared to my friends. Multiple people have commented that my bump looks big for how far along I am. It's driving me nuts to constantly have people commenting on my belly and size! It makes me anxious that something's wrong, and then it makes me self-conscious about looking "too pregnant". And I bet people whose bodies hide their bumps are told that they don't look pregnant, causing similar anxieties and insecurities. Pregnant women just can't win.
Just took the most glorious 2-hr nap. Did it during college football so DH wouldn’t have the urge to wake me. Wish I could have one of those every day.
My kids are driving me insane today. They have been cooped up together all week thanks to stupid strep. Now that they're feeling better they realize they're sick of being together and have done nothing but fight all day. Good lord I miss bourbon.
I am seriously ready for some cooler weather. Decided to head to my nieces soccer game today, almost 90 degrees and clothes completely soaked in sweat. I just want fall! At this rate it will probably go from 90 degrees to 40 in about a week
@hannahbananas11 Yea, your bump is super cute! I don't get it tbh. You're supposed to have a bump, but not to small cause that looks unhealthy, and not too big cause then you're a fat pig. We're basically bad mothers before our babies are even born.
Also, once the baby is born, don't forget that you have to lose that baby weight. If you keep it for too long, you're lazy and you let yourself go. But don't lose the weight immediately either, because if you look great too soon after birth you've obviously just focused on yourself while ignoring your baby.
Moral of the story: Pregnant women and new mothers can't win.

Ok, so Cubs game with the wild small one went just fine! We were there for six innings, there was some restlessness and whatnot, but mostly he was transfixed. My bad came when I thought it was a good idea to take him with me get something, which naturally meant waiting forever.... very bad idea. And it wasn't Cards, so we actually could all root for the Cubs . Great Saturday all around! Hope yours are all similarly lovely!
I've been awake at 3am, 4am and 2am the last 3 nights and not been able to go back to sleep. How is it possible that I'm still laying in bed, exhausted, but not able to fall asleep tonight? Pregnancy sleep sucks.
Today the logistics of two kids is starting to concern me. We’re in a 2 bedroom apartment and will be until I can get back to work for good. So much clothes. I’m already scouting a huge dresser, at least this one won’t need her own undie drawer for a few years.
@madreofdragons I totally get the freak out. We have 3 bedrooms but really want to save one for a guest room for as long as possible. I almost cried at chic fil a yesterday watching mom's with two kids, and wondering wtf I got myself into!
@hannahbananas11 I don’t understand peoples need to comment on bumps. Infuriating. Some people have different body types in which the bump will be different. I have a small torso so my bump will stick out more then perhaps someone with a longer one. My friend at 36 weeks looked how I looked at 5 months, super tiny bump. Some people didnt even know she was pregnant and shes a small girl. So its just how people carry. People are assholes. I also thought yours was adorable. I on the other hand am measuring 23 weeks at 18 weeks, so yes I am bigger then normal ha. Don’t let people bring you down with comments
@madreofdragons@izzfrancisco I’m freaking out too. We just bought all these clothes for baby girl and are moving into a different 2 br in two weeks. The living spaces are smaller but the kids bedroom is much bigger. And their closet is huge, so I think their clothes will all fit.
Im just overwhelmed by logistics of how to go places with both of them. DH and I work almost exactly opposite schedules. It’s a miracle this baby was conceived at all considering how little time we get together. So we both will be with both kids alone when we’re not at work. I get stressed about it and then realize that like ... it’s happening whether I’m ready or not lol.
After our trip, I think we’ve decided to put the two big kids in the same room with bunk beds (which they had at the hotel) so we can keep our office/guest room for now. Baby will go into the nursery at 2-3 months.
I slept most most of the day yesterday and it was glorious. But I’m really back now. We walked 120 miles in a week (yes miles, not steps) so I don’t know how I’m still alive.
@allthingsgo I’m in the same boat. DS has a bad cold and woke up at 1,2 then 6 so I finally brought him into our bed and of course I never went back to sleep...all while DH slept like a baby
@dcaron10 ugh that sounds terrible. Hope he feels better soon and you both get some sleep. Times like these make me wonder just how very little sleep I am going to get with two LOs instead of just one.
I think I read a quote somewhere that said, screw sleeping like a baby I want to sleep like my husband! Haha, wouldn’t that be nice!
@hannahbananas11 I really hope that nobody has the audacity to say something like that to me because my comeback is going to be “well at least I’m actually pregnant. What’s your excuse?”

i feel like we need to have come backs ready in our back pockets for whenever these rude comments happen.
