I pull up to the parking garage of my office building and notice the arm isn't going up. I'm thinking "why is it not sensing me!?" and then I realize I had taken my parking transponder out of my car over the weekend when I cleaned it out and didn't put it back in. D'oh! Not the graceful start to my Monday I was hoping for lol.

@zuuls_mom Nooooooo. I always do that with my car key fob. Packed down with 83284765 bags, I try my car door, and NOTHING. Have to go all the way upstairs and get it.

Speaking of 83284765 bags, does anyone else feel like a pack mule getting everything and everyone in the car in the morning? Hot mess express getting outside.

@SpaceBurger yessss I am a pack mule. I leave the house with my son on one hip and my laptop bag, purse, lunch bag and coffee on the other side. I'm usually a little sweaty when I finally get in the car, but man does it feel relaxing when I get to take that first sip of coffee. I have NO idea how I am going to get out of the house when there's another tiny human and all of their crap too lol.

Hmm. I guess that's a benefit of DS being nearly 5. I stroll out with my purse. Hell, he even gets in the car and buckles himself in. I am so not ready to go back to baby land.

Does anyone else just keep forgetting things? Last week i left my phone on the hood of my car. Today I tried to pay my total of $8 with 3 ones and i forgot to make a pot of coffee after I told my MIL I would.

I feel like its too early for pregnancy brain.

You are not alone. I’ve been very selective about who I’ve told about this pregnancy so I’ve only told my fiancé and my best friend. I told her I had to get some blood work done to confirm the pregnancy and I said I’d let her know. Fast forward a couple days, she calls and says “soooo?!” Because she wanted to know if it was confirmed. And I had completely forgotten and just said “so what?”
I had completely spaced that I told her. Soooo...yeah. There have been other little things but that was the biggest *oh duh* moment I’ve had so far.

@psychobutthead I'm trying to drag out telling people for as long as possible! I love that my husband and I are the only ones who know (plus one of the ladies from my last BMB - I had to tell someone else)

Got a call from daycare this morning that DD2 has a fever and was not acting herself. DH picked her up and I took a half day so I can be with her. She's currently snoozing beside me in bed and the cat is trying to climb all over her.

@secicc12 yeah I don't want to tekk family or anyone right yet. i have a SIL whose pregnant right now and I don't want to be accused of stealing her spotlight or anything.

@psychobutthead same here. I’m in zero rush to tell anyone that doesn’t know at this point. We may have to tell my in laws at Thanksgiving, but I’m hoping they won’t be able to tell when they see me.

I don't ever want to be in any more weddings. We have two this October and I'm sick of paying for things! I'm MOH in one, and DH is best man and DD is flower girl in the other. $65 on flower girl dress and I'm looking at $20 (at least) for flower girl shoes, and both weddings are 5+ hr plane ride$$$$ away! I mean, not to mention my BM dress and DH's tux rentals. I'm just salty at the exorbitant prices for flower girl items. I luckily don't think I have any more close friends that will ask me/us to be in their weddings, but I am gonna have to say no if anyone asks us in the next year or two!

@secicc12 I doubt I’ll announce publicly at all. My divorce was final last October and I think there’s people on my timeline who probably don’t even know I’m divorced yet, let alone engaged and pregnant

@poshspice this is why we paid for my bridesmaids' dresses and DH's guys' tuxes. It's too bad that it's always such a financial burden to support friends at their weddings.

So I went and stopped at walmart and picked up some prenatals.

A little scared to even open the bottle. I'm almost afraid if I do it will jinx everything. Which I know is ridiculous. And I know miscarriage can happen but I just feel like I'd feel alot better once I got past the amount of weeks I was when it happened before. Which is stupid because thats only like 1 week and 3 days more than I am now.

I completely agree with you @poshspice ! Im actually really sick of weddings at the moment. Especially because in my culture, the weddings are a week long. Clothes, accessories, travel, gifts for all those events is ridiculous! Not to mention, by the time the last two events come around, you're extremely exhausted and don't even want to get dressed up again.

@psychobutthead My baby brain is so bad I was driving over the weekend and had no idea why I got off the highway or where I was going for a few seconds haha I also blame the pregnancy insomnia for why I was headed to Walmart at 7:30 on a Sunday morning. Then yesterday I booked a weekend away for Columbus Day/ DS birthday and I booked the wrong dates and the places he wanted to go will be closed for the season

@poshspice weddings are so annoyingly expensive! We got married last summer and decided against a wedding party our kids were the bm & moh

also planning to keep this pregnancy to ourselves for as long as possible I was thinking maybe Christmas but i'd like to be at least 24 weeks and ill only be 20w2d on Christmas. Then again this is my 4th pregnancy and I'm not sure how long ill be able to hide.

@psychobutthead yes, pregnancy brain is in full effect! Left my sons backpack at home this morning. Luckily I went back to get a water bottle and saw his backpack.

And you’re not alone with the anxiety! I suffer from it too and I keep trying to immediately shift gears when my brain goes there. I’m so glad for this group bc it’s so dang hard to not talk to others about the pregnancy.

And i I think we will do a fun Halloween announcement. I know my family won’t be too excited because I’ve been talking about wanting another baby for 6 months and they kept trying to tell me it’s too soon when I had DS Sept ‘17. Oh well!

@psychobutthead pregnancy brain is rocking hard, sometimes i space out to DH and don't even finish a sentence. I literally JUST realized you are supposed to aim to sleep on the left side during pregnancy, the whoooole time I thought it was the right side, even after checking online multiple times until just now (my DD was born in 2016....) that's some pregnancy brain.

I don't think I'll announce anything until Christmas but I feel like I might show early since I'm so bloated. I know last time I told close family a month in and social media when I was in my last trimester.

I already told my mom and sister since we're super close and I'd want them to know if something went wrong. With DD, we told some of our immediate family at 6 weeks since it was Christmas and me not drinking is a dead giveaway (but we didn't tell everyone...basically just those who would have figured it out). We never publicly announced although I did post a pic of DH and I around 6 months where I was obviously pregnant which essentially served as an announcement. I'd be fine waiting 12 weeks+ to tell extended family this time although I could definitely hide it until Thanksgiving or Christmas depending on which one we travel for (live across the country from our family).

@sparrowsnest22 DD was Aug '17. If you felt ready, then don't worry about it. Plus, it's been a year now, so I'm sure they'd be more excited than at 6 months. This is a pretty common age gap.

My best friend just told me she set a tentative wedding date for early May 2019. She just got engaged last week, so I was NOT expecting the wedding to be so soon. Cue freakout. I'll be 6 days away from my due date at the wedding ahhhh. Either that, or will have a teeny tiny newborn if I go early. I'm her MOH so not attending doesn't feel like an option at this point. Hopefully she doesn't mind having her bachelorette early on before I get too far into 3rd tri. I really want these next few months to be all about her and the wedding - NOT about baby. But it's hard not to worry about how I'll be feeling.

Any STMs+ attend events close to the end of pregnancy and/or very recently after post-partum?

@psychobutthead true, that is the perfect excuse to get out of anything. Sorry you're having anxiety about the prenatals. I totally get it. PGAL is the worst.

@k2k2tog that was super nice of you! It's especially bad with everyone scattered all over the country and we always have to fly and pay for hotel in addition to everything else.

@expandcontract that sounds super fun to do like... once. I can imagine that you get sick of the week long wedding festivities.

@secicc12 I was 6 months at BFF's wedding (I was MOH), so definitely not the same thing. My friend's sister was a bridesmaid in her wedding. Her baby was born two weeks before the wedding and she did not attend. She did film a super sweet video in her BM dress for the MOH toast and her husband stood in for her. But they live in NY and the wedding was in HI, so the trip would not have been doable with a newborn. Another thing to think about is I would not want to bring my newborn, unvaccinated baby to a wedding where everyone wants to touch them. If you don't have to travel for the wedding and are still pregnant, you would probably be fine to attend. I was not super mobile in the last two-three weeks of my pregnancy due to pain, but you could make it work.

@secicc12 That timing stinks! This might not be helpful but it's the only similar story I know. My good friend and coworker was due 4 days after her sister's wedding last July but went into labor 2 days before the wedding (one week early, which is exactly when she went into labor with her first). She had a scheduled c-section 2 days after the wedding (just 2 days before her due date specifically so that she could go to the wedding) so they rushed her to the hospital for her surgery and she couldn't go with the recovery, unfortunately. Her husband and DD1 went, though. A lot of the particulars are different but second babies tend to be earlier than the first and I don't think I'd want to take that fresh of a newborn to a wedding. I can't remember. Were you early, on time, or late with DD?

@poshspice That's such a nice idea to film a video for the MOH toast. The wedding is only an hour away, so definitely not too much travel. If the baby were already here, I think I would have my mom come with us and put her up in a hotel to stay with the baby while we were at the wedding. At least that way we avoid everyone trying to touch him/her

@kvh22 I got induced at 35 weeks due to severe pre-e. It was scary! So I never went into labor naturally. I'm on baby aspirin this time around to try and keep my blood pressure under control. So who knows how far I'll make it this time. Hoping for at least 37! Thanks for sharing that story. It does help to hear what others did in similar situations. It may just be a game-time decision.
