Me first! I regret saying anything about not having back pain a couple weeks ago. I jinxed myself good! The discomfort is real, and I hate it. It hurts if I sit too long, especially in an upright chair, or if I stand/ walk too much. Even laying down is unbearable at times. Ugh. Currently sitting in the glider in the baby's room because it reclines just slightly and it's the only place I can get comfy at the moment.
Other than that, feeling ok. Just feeling enormous. But when I look at pictures i don't even think I look that much bigger.
Yeah, the back pain...I hope it doesn't get terribly worse! DH & I took turns driving this weekend, I only drove the short three-hour leg each way, but man it sucked. Back was hurting, feet swelling. DH was going to drive more but he needed to not drive too.
Besides that new constant, the reflux is same, but my OB did recommend Zantac since I was needing Tums like candy. Right now I'm feeling okay if I take a Zantac around 5pm, and have a chewy Tums after lunch and dinner. I am still burpy and gurgly, but my throat doesn't feel as wet and I don't worry about spilling my contents when I bend over. I think that LO is definitely going through a growth spurt, I'm just feeling so much bigger so much faster! Looking forward to the home stretch!
Oh! Edited to add Emotions . I got randomly emotional tonight for the first time in a decade. I told DH that I had a song stuck in my head, but didn't feel like watching Braveheart for the next three hours. So he pulls up Spotify and starts looking for the theme. He was away from the table when I heard it, and suddenly start crying. He comes back thinking that I was hurt, but I was trying to laugh about emotions...so I just cried on my tater tots a little bit. Oy vey.

@scaredunprepared add me to back pain club! I’ve been playing “musical chairs” around the house to find somewhere comfortable to sit.
Sleeping on my side makes my back hurt more. I woke up with back/hip pain this morning. I can’t sleep comfortably on my stomach anymore, and I don’t want to risk back sleeping because my blood pressure has been so low. Yesterday I was feeling ugh all day: sort of dizzy/light headed, a bit achy/crampy, and just not well. I was complaining to my SO and he’s like, “congratulations. Your pregnancy finally caught up to you. You’ve successfully avoided most of the symptoms so far”. Yeah, perspective. I did have a very easy first tri.
+1 on the back pain. I just feel like I can’t get comfortable. Also, exhaustion and insomnia. It is currently almost 5 am and I have been awake since 3. I need to sleep! DS will be up in 2 hours....
@tumbleweed-1 and anyone else, have you tried wedging a pillow under your stomach to support your bump while you sleep on your side? I was having so much back pain from the weight of my stomach pulling on my spine, but once I started using a little wedge pillow it pretty much completely went away.
@hkom I'm gonna try that pillow idea. The pillows between legs helped for a while, but as my belly gets bigger, I need more support. I wake up so freaking sore. Thanks for the tip!
@morgantu No problem! I got the little Boppy one off of Amazon, and it's the perfect size, shape, and softness for me, but I don't see why another pillow couldn't work as well.
+1 for dizzy/lightheadedness. I have been feeling it on and off all weekend. I also am waking up super early and not being able to go back to bed. LOTS of tossing and turning at night!
@echo-charlietango my OB said I could take up to 450mg of Zantac a day, which is huge. With that, I don’t need tums. The heartburn is terrible, I just keep thinking, “this kid better have beautiful hair when he comes out”
I still haven’t been experiencing heartburn. I don’t remember when it started with my son, but I’m afraid this one is going to come our bald as a cue ball!

I fear the same! I haven't had any! Just a tiny bit of reflux occassionally when I eat too much.
@PensiveCrayon and @hkom I didn't have heartburn or reflux until 36 weeks last time and my son came out with a head full of hair! I bet y'all will be fine!
@hkom I haven’t tried a pillow under the belly, just between my knees. Not a special pillow either, just one of our old regular ones. I want to buy a belly band today, maybe I’ll look around for pillows too (online). I think my work is too physical and that’s part of my problem. Lots of getting up/down from sitting on the floor, lifting babies/toddlers, standing, etc. Hopefully a band will help support me through all of that movement.
@tumbleweed-1 I'm there with you feeling like I was spoiled during the first trimester. I kept thinking that probably means the third trimester was going to be rough. I agree with a pillow under your stomach though. My mom bought me a wedge pillow that I have been using for my stomach and I do feel like it's been helping me sleep better.
My biggest complaint right now is the issues I've still been having with my throat. Every day now, I've been dealing with feeling like there's a lump in my throat/throat feeling tight (it's usually off and on through out the day, but I swear yesterday I dealt with it all day). The times it bothers me the most is when it causes difficulty swallowing. I did finally call my doctor's office this past Friday and the nurse said it could be acid reflux or it could be allergies, so she suggested I try taking something for both. I've tried Zantac, which I think has helped a little. Claritan didn't seem to do anything, so not sure.
+1 on back pain, heartburn, insomnia. Omg 14 more weeks of this and it's just going to get worse.
I am also suddenly randomly super nauseous after eating. I thought that was a first tri thing. Maybe it's just my stomach getting smaller, telling me to eat less in one sitting?
@kadeephd yeah, it’s only going to get harder to eat large amounts of food from here on out. Between the nausea and heartburn, small meals are my friend right now...
This isn't exactly a symptom, but is anyone else feeling little baby hiccups yet? We heard them on the monitor last week and every day since, at least once a day, I've been able to feel them for a few minutes.
@hkom I haven't! I was thinking about them recently though. I can't remember when I first started noticing them with my son. Funny anecdote: the son of one of my friends would get the hiccups every time she ate an apple while pregnant. Now he hiccups while eating apples! My son hiccups when he's tired, so I'm not sure what that means for when he was in the womb

How do the hiccups feel? I don’t think I’ve noticed that at all. It was cool to see the baby moving his hands/legs in my last ultrasound and feel the light movements at the same time. I’ve felt a few big kicks and I think I’ve felt him move completely into other positions. Big all over movements.
@tumbleweed-1 Hiccups are a lot lighter/more subtle than kicks, they're in one spot, and they're fairly regular. For me they generally occurred down low, I think because he was head down by the time he was big enough to start feeling them.

@tumbleweed-1 Pretty much what @PensiveCrayon said. It's just a subtle, consistent twitch in one place. Mine are just a second or two apart, last for a couple of minutes, and then they're gone.
Also, I meant to respond to your comment before about the belly band. I bought one of those a week or two before I had to go to the hospital to use while doing chores or during fieldwork for my job. It helped me a lot just in terms of general comfort and lessening pressure but also in alleviating cramps and BH contractions.
+1 for trouble sleeping! But I've always struggled with sleep, it just feels more pronounced or especially difficult these days.
@echo-charlietango I hear you on the emotional front. I've had multiple emotional outbursts throughout pregnancy so far (starting from the very beginning), and I consider myself pretty low-key and mellow before, so, it's not fun. Definitely feel embarrassed by my emotions sometimes, but I know they're only natural/heightened versions of what I'm really feeling. Although sometimes they feel totally irrational and not linked to anything, so who even knows?
@whitneyb89 My mom has acid reflux and it started with a lump feeling in her throat. Once she started taking meds, it went away, so I bet that's what it is!
AFM, I officially can't bend over for more than 2 seconds or my uterus crushes my lungs
@texas_t I feel like that's what it is too. Anytime I looked up all my symptoms, it seems to point to GERD. Might have to try another type of medicine though other than Zantac.
I am having real trouble focusing at/on work and getting stuff accomplished. Being off my ADD meds, cutting back on caffeine, and nesting urges certainly don't help!
Woke up at 545 today which is better than yesterday...
Also, constipation is kicking my a$$. Was doing great in terms of that until last week and not sure what's different this week. Added miralax to colace but that hasnt helped much. Ughh its so uncomfortable.
Anyone else having terrible heel pain? I've been wearing flip flops a lot the past week so I'm guessing that's not sufficient support with the extra weight I'm carrying around but it's been miserable the last 2-3 days. I'm currently trying to figure out how I can work at my desk today and keep my feet up at the same time.
My heart burn is full force. It started later last time but was horrible and DS was still bald until he was 1. +1 to using a pillow under the bump while sleeping. It helps SO much. +1 to being so sore. Especially if I have a day where I'm on my feet a lot, I can barely move by end of day.
@lippy625 try grabbing a garbage bucket or something of the sorts and keeping your feet up on that today! And flip flops are definitely not helping. I invested in a pair of berkinstocks this pregnancy and they were worth every dime!!
@lippy625 I gave up looking halfway fashionable months ago. I wear gym shoes all the time now and that has helped with my foot and scaitic pain. @hannelorre How many colace are you taking? I didn’t get relief until I bumped it to 3 pills/day.
@kristah2@katy0990 thanks ladies. My desk at work is set up so that there's no room for me to lift my feet under it so once our IT guy gets in I'm going to ask if he can get me a laptop setup and I'll move to a conference room for the day. I wear tieks to work every day and they usually are pretty supportive but I live in flip flops other than that. I'm going to have to look in to better shoes because it feels like a knife stabbing my heel every time I stand up. I'll try my sneakers tomorrow too.
+1 on the pillows. I was just laughing about this last night, but I have a whole pillow system set up. This wedge under my belly plus a body length pillow, and my regular pillow for my head. Good thing DD stays in her own bed mostly or there would be no room for MH!
