Re: Weekly Symptoms • w/o 8.26

  • Ugh pretty bad cramping last night. Ended up calling the midwife but she didnt think I'd have to come in. Did get better and went to sleep but now I'm just feeling anxious.

  • @mamajudec2018.  I am sorry they are not working. So, have you gone to the dentist? I hope they start to work in the next three days!
@hannelorre I’m sorry about the cramping! Do they think it is Braxton Hicks? I hope it goes away soon!
  • @CecilB93 I did just remember yesterday that we have a recliner in the basement, which I didn’t have with my last pregnancies, I may be seeking that out soon because I do not sleep and I need sleep desperately right now.

@hkom I’m also a back sleeper normally. I usually fall asleep on my stomach and roll over to my back for the rest of the night - so this sleeping on my sides all night is just not working for me. I’ve even tried the kids beds to see if different mattresses make any difference to the hip pain and the answer is no. I’m thinking my best bet is to start sleeping propped up.
  • @scaredunprepared Yes I'm definitely not doing a great job of taking it easy. Today I got all of my clothes shopping done for the hospital and the next week or two after so I can be comfy. Now to wash it all. And tonight I'm watching my nephew but tomorrow I plan on a full relaxation day.

@katy0990 I tried calling the dentist a couple weeks ago and they said there is nothing they can do since they can't x-ray right now.
  • @katy0990 yes they seemed to think it was more likely Braxton hicks. I did up my water today and feeling a little better so hopefully that'll be that!

@mamajudec2018 they wouldn't even stay with abdominal cover? I hope the steroid help in the next couple days!

Also talking about sleep - I keep waking up with sore shoulders from sleeping on my side. Does the pregnancy pillow like snoogle help with that, or is it more so you dont roll over?
  • @hannelorre I’ve been waking up sore too and I have a snoogle. I don’t think there’s anything that’ll help at this point! I miss sleeping on my stomach :(. I’m glad the extra water helped your cramping!

still feeling large and in charge! I’m so uncomfortable and hot. Heartburn, achy hips, exhaustion. I just keep crying because I’m so uncomfortable :(. Blah.

  • @hannelorre No they won't do any x-raying at all until after I'm pregnant. Which honestly I'm fine with because I think it would really make me nervous.
  • @orangecrush29 I'm sorry you're feeling so uncomfortable  :(  I've found baths helpful when I'm just sore all over, especially with a little aromatherapy. Is prenatal massage or chiropractor an option?

@mamajudec2018 ah ok. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
  • Everything is sore unless I sleep in our guest room which has a memory foam topper on a firm bed.  I've slept so well on it! I think I'm going to look for a memory foam topper for our bed in the master because it really does make a huge difference!

  • I'm joining the soreness club. Hips, shoulders, sides. I think my belly is getting heavier and making it harder to find a good position. I had a few really good weeks, but now that i'm getting bigger, everything is harder.
  • I've been trying to figure out for a couple weeks, but I'm pretty sure I'm occasionally having braxton hicks. I've read that they can feel like a tightening and/or mild period pain. To me, it's like super mild period pain across the lower abdomen that lasts only 30-60 seconds then goes away. And it's only been once every couple of days. Every time it happens though, I'm like why am I getting a cramp? And then I sit and wait to see that it goes away, and it does. Lol. Anyone who knows what braxton hicks feels like... does that sound like it to you?

I'm joining the soreness club too. My mid-back just gets super sore by the end of the day every day. I'm lucky that I get monthly chiropractor and even more regular prenatal massage. (Thanks, DH, for the amazing insurance! Haha!) I think those are why I haven't gotten even more sore yet, and why my headaches have been kept at bay. (I tend to hold all the stress and tension in my shoulders and neck, which leads to headaches.)

@omnommer Mine feel like a charlie horse, but without the pain.  And they are usually around the middle of my stomach.  I can just feel my uterus get really tight, like if you flex your bicep or any other muscle, and then it goes away if I sit / lay down / change positions.  But I'm sure they can feel different for different people.

  • @omnommer That sounds like Braxton Hicks to me
  • @hkom Like a charlie horse is a great explanation for what I've been feeling in my lower abdomen but mine comes with the pain. I thought that was rlp but maybe it's Braxton Hicks. It's usually when I stand up. Ouch!
  • @omnommer I've heard real labor pains described as period cramps and that's how mine started out.  My BH aren't painful, just really tight and uncomfortable.  I'd maybe mention it to your OB just in case?

Also, I was having a ton of BH last week and I started taking magnesium based on y'alls suggestion and it helped tremendously.  Plus, I started drinking more water.

@texas_t I actually talked to her last night about something else and she asked about cramping. I mentioned that I'd had very light cramps but they last 30-60 seconds and they don't come back for a few days. She didn't seem concerned. She did mention that if I was having labor pains typically the "period cramps" would be felt all the way around to the back, which is definitely not how mine are. But I failed to ask her if they sounded like Braxton Hicks haha. If they get more frequent, I'll definitely get in to see her! Also, my magnesium should arrive today to help my leg cramps. :)

  • @omnommer Maybe the magnesium will help with the ute cramping as well!

  • @Katzalia I'm so glad your constant RLP is better! Woo!

Add me to the chorus of people feeling sore. For some miraculous reason, I'm okay sleeping right now, but sitting in my chair at work is starting to really hurt by the end of the day, hip wise. I'm going through a big bump and hip growth spurt, and it hurts! I've gained less weight, but bump wise, I seriously feel almost the size I was at full term last time around! I just cannot envision what another nearly 14 weeks of growing bump/baby is going to look (and feel) like! Yikes.
  • I have a scar under my bra line / top of my bump from where my appendix was out. It is SO ITCHY the last 2 days! I guess it's from stretching as my belly moves up?? But it's almost painful it's so itchy.
    Anyone have any relief suggestions?

@kristah2 Aquaphor has helped make me c-section scar less itchy. Maybe try putting some of that on it.
  • tmi:
hemorrhoids. It feels like my butt is falling out of my butt lol. Had I known I was going to get them after delivering vaginally, I might not have wanted to lol
  • @kristah2 and @katy0990 Thanks for bringing up the itchy scar! My c-section scar has been itchy and instead of doing something to help, I've just been scratching it  :D I have aquaphor at home, I'm going to try it!

  • I feel like when I'm gassy/constipated i feel the baby moving less. And i've been super gassy the last 2 days so it sucks! I don't know if it's in my head, though.
  • The glucose drink gave me an allergy  :(

  • Oh noooo @ab_canada! What kind of reaction did you have?

  • @binxybaby My ears used to get sore from my pregnanacy pillow too. It lasted like a week and then it's like they just got used to it.
  • @PensiveCrayon It's a known allergy of mine. I took one look at that drink and thought "yup, I'm going to have a reaction" and it started within the time I was sitting there. I get an itchy rash (usually on my neck) but I can get rid of it in a few days with Benadryl cream, so it's not a big deal. I just don't want to trigger it if I don't have to because I know allergies get worse with every exposure and I know the next drink will be more concentrated, so I don't know if that will mean more food coloring as well..

  • @ab_canada I never thought about having an allergy to the food dye.. eek!
I have had some really bad reactions to red food dye in high doses (my worst one in Cuba after eating "strawberry jam" and needing a doctor from off resort to come to my room and treat me and put me on medication the rest of my vacation).
Thanks for the reminder I should definitely stick with any other color besides red.
  • @ab_canada That stinks! So what do you do now?
  • @kristah2
I think red is a well known one - lots of people have reactions to it. But there are also many different kinds, so you might be allergic to "red dye #xxx" but not others. Nobody has the time to figure out all of them! I just try to eat my fake colors in moderation (for example, I LOVE sour candies but I only get them a couple of times a year and try not to eat too many at a time; I figure it's best for my weight anyway ;) )

  • You're better then me @ab_canada
My rule is if I'm driving distance to a hospital and not on a random tropical island with questionable health care I'm good ;)
I just can't pass up strawberry sundaes and so many delicious treats!
  • I have some allergy to oranges and am waiting to hear from my allergist if the “orange” glucola is safe for me or not. I’m hoping to avoid another rash. Sorry you are dealing with allergic reaction, @ab_canada
