August 2018 FET

Re: August 2018 FET

  • Hi guys...sorry I've been a bit MIA, this OHSS is kicking my ass.  I may need to get drained again tomorrow, but trying to avoid it, kind of borderline right now.

    @MSU_Girl1202 Awesome, congrats!

@madasm0530 I've had some spotting too the last two days, I was told not to worry about it unless it is as heavy as a period, it happens a lot.

Silver lining to my rough week:

    Beta 1: 185
    Beta 2: 449
Will do one more beta in four days. If it is good, I think I have to get a second intralipid infusion and continue the dreaded lovenox.  I got to take a break from it for a few days because of the OHSS surgery.

  • @MSU_Girl1202 my clinic does as well. My estrogen was at about 900. Day of transfer it was at 1500 or so. My progesterone was 57 day of transfer and hovered in the 30s after. I did take extra progesterone the day of transfer.
  • @J1006 Well, that actually makes me feel better that not everyone estrogen rises after transfer. I for sure thought it was supposed to so hated that mine stayed the same

  • @heidis1 I'm happy to hear you were able to do your IM shot all on your own!  I don't think I could handle it myself!  Good luck tomorrow!  I'm glad we are transfer buddies!

  • @madasm0530 I've had little of bit of pink spotting.  Not much but it still makes me nervous.  My doctor said 40% of their patients experience some spotting so not to worry.  They still brought me in for an US yesterday and everything was fine, but I was sched for Fri and now I have wait until Tues since they said wouldn't make sense to do 2x in 1 week.  Oh the waiting!
    @MSU_Girl1202 Sounds promising!
@sungirl39 Congrats!  After everything you have been through with the OHSS you must be so relieved.
Best of luck with your transfers  @heidis1 and @mandapanda1421
  • Thank you guys for all the well wishes!!!
@mandapanda1421 Goodluck to u tomorrow!!! Fx for smooth transfers!
@sungirl39 good looking#s!! Sorry for the rough road to get there though

  • Lurking.

@MSU_Girl1202, before and FET aren’t you on estrogen?  I think it makes sense for it to stay the same with how elevated they have it with all the meds in the beginning part of the cycle. And if it does rise, it probably takes more than 5 days to see a significant rise.  Just my guess!

  • @mayflower513 I guess that is a good point. Not sure why I was hoping it to go up, just thinking of how last cycle it dropped a bit and me RE said "yeah, I knew it would be a bfn then".

  • Glad the transfers went well!  Looking forward to hearing all the good news from the upcoming betas!  I hit another rough spot and could use some positive stories.  Still suffering with the OSHH, on day 5 and all my symptoms are still bad...almost went back in for another surgery/drain but fought through it.  I just found out my TSH skyrocketed, went from 1.3 pre transfer to over 6. UGHHH, always something to stress about.
  • Can't wait to hear all of the great news from the transfers!

    *TW*

I had the u/s on 8/23. We could see the heartbeat fluttering but couldn't hear it. I go back on 8/30 for another u/s so hopefully we can hear the heartbeat! My beta was 17,736 as of yesterday!

  • @sungirl39 Thanks!  Sorry to hear about the OHSS!  At least they are monitoring you.  I had a minor case back when I had my retrieval earlier this year.  I was on some kind of medication, but never was drained.  Are you also active on the August IVF board?  This one is for FET... Frozen Embryo Transfers. So most ladies here didn't just undergo a retrieval.

@mandapanda1421 I did an FET, I haven't done a retrieval in eight yrs lol.  I had to use menopur to thicken my lining, my body doesn't respond to synthetic estrogen.

@Rebelfirecpl So excited for you! That is awesome!
  • @Rebelfirecpl That's great news! You should be able to hear the HB for sure the next time. We had our 2nd u/s today and was able to hear it :)

Best of luck to everyone's transferring soon and upcoming betas! <3

  • @sungirl39... oh interesting!  I obviously never heard of someone getting OHSS from an FET!  I learned something new.
  • Hey all, has anyone else been told no sexual activity at all for you from first day of progesterone until either BFN or ultrasound?  Not just restricting BD, but no sexual activity at all for me.  I'm thinking my RE hates me, who would tell you that!?!?!
  • @emerald99 Haha!  Yes, was told the same thing.  They don't want any contractions going on.
@Rebelfirecpl Congrats!  That's a big step. I hope to hear mine on Tues, FX.
@sungirl39m Ugh. So sorry. I hope you feel better soon.
  • @Rebelfirecpl yay congrats great #s!

@kristimh80 congrats on hearing lo heartbeat so special!

@emerald99 lol we were told no anything from time of transfer to beta test

@sungirl39  sending positive thoughts to u! Soo sorry u r going through such a difficult time

  • @emerald99 I was told nothing until beta. I think they just want to keep everything calm for the embryo. It's weird, even after a positive, I  second guessed if I should. For me, I was always weirded out knowing there was a baby in there and didn't want to bother it or mess anything up. My husband is still freaked out.

  • I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!  Are there any upcoming transfers or beta results this week?
  • @mandapanda1421 I have beta tomorrow! Was super optimistic with the positive hpts but since then developed the cold from hell...fevers to 102 and today started having bad bad cramps so just not sure if that (esp fevers) will make it a bad environment for the embryo to stick around

    Beta #3 was 1,826 :) Ultrasound Thursday...nerve wracking!
  • Hi girls, could use some prayers today. Just had my beta drawn. Took 9 sticks to get because after so many years of ivf my veins stuck. Took 3 nurses and anesthesia to finally get my blood with pretty much the whole office staff watching the show. They finally got my blood and I threw up all over the floor. I feel terrible and so embarrassed

  • @sungirl39 great beta!!! Yay!

@MSU_Girl1202 prayers for great beta!!!! Sorry u had to fo through all that.. dont b embarrassed I’m sure they all felt awful for u!
  • Hey all just wondering if everyone was told to stay on all meds til preg test? (Delestrogen & pio) I don’t remember if i had to do last time around? Especially since they haven’t brought me in to test my levels..just curious.
  • @heidis1 I had my transfer today and they told me
to stay on everything until pregnancy test

AFM RE said transfer went beautifully- now for the wait
  • @heidis1 YES, definitely stay on your meds!  :)

@bpietronicco Congrats on your transfer!  Are you going to test before beta?
  • @sungirl39 thanks!  I will most likely wait until the nurse/RE calls me. I really hate seeing negative tests.  Although the wait for that phone call is horrendous!!

  • @MSU_Girl1202 Sorry to hear about your morning.  I hope your beta results made up for it!

@bpietronicco FX crossed for you.  I'm currently in the tww and planning not on testing.
