Hello everyone! I am due in early October with a girl. I have a 20 month old girl already with the middle initial K, which stands for Kickbutt. My middle is Kickbutt and I love it. It has been a very fun name to have and story to tell for my whole life. We unofficially gave Kickbutt as a middle name to our first daughter (it is just K on her birth certificate) to pass it on and I hope she thinks it is as fun and unique as I have- but she can always tell people it's Kristin or something if she wants when she is older. Based on her personality so far, it suits her! She has a very normal first name, haha. Anyway, the current conundrum is that we have no idea what middle name to give our next daughter that can contend with Kickbutt. I need help thinking of ideas of strong or fun, unusual middle names. HELP!
First, How is giving your daughter an initial of ‘K’ actually giving her the middle name of “Kickbutt”? I don’t get it.
Also, this falls under the heading of giving kids names they have to live up to, which is a practice I disagree with- for example saddling someone with “Faith” when they decide to become an atheist, or “Joy” if she end up with mental health issues.
Finally, words that I may find strong, you might find abhorrent. For example, I’m perfectly comfortable with the words fuck, bitch, ass, and dick. Strangely, I’m more comfortable with ass than butt. But I also imagine that a name such as Nancy AssFucker would probably not be one that you want to contemplate, even though I would associate that with a strong woman who takes the lead in her relationships and takes shit from no one. I’d simultaneously question the judgment of someone giving that (or any name in this vein) as a middle name to their child.
That said- why not give your second child some random letter, and figure out later what it stands for? Like “F”. It could be Frances, or Flora, or FuckOff, or FreeSpeech, or ForwardThinking.

Well, this was definitely not the response I expected, but I now realize maybe this is a better question for family and friends who know us (although they have been stumped too), just thought it may be a fun thread for those of us struggling through these last 5+ tough weeks. I also have not been active on this board at all this pregnancy so maybe this came off as a troll-type question, which was not the intention. Thank you to those who responded constructively. Luckily I grew up to be a badass female surgeon, so maybe living up to the name wasn't such a bad thing. Better than "wallflower" I guess.
Pretty accurate assumption...we have no idea who you are and you came here with a pretty off the wall story... We have an entire conversation about names (first and middle) this could have easily gone there.
@sarah12-2 - We’ve had several mamas join the board in the last month who have taken the time to figure out how we roll; I get a lot from reading their contributions to the group. The board isn’t for everyone. However, we are happy to have people who take time time to learn the local customs.
What you have basically done is walk into a bachelorette party where we’re all brides (except me- I eloped), and said “Hey! What do you guys think of this sexy pair of hot pink daisy dukes that I’m going to wear for my wedding dress?”
We have no idea who you are, except that you interrupted the male stripper that we were all oogling, and the dollar amount that most of us would consider sufficient to make it worth making ouselves and our families look ridiculous wearing said daisy dukes exceeds your annual income as a surgeon.
@sarah12-2 a quick stalk shows you've been around The Bump for a little while now. I don't know how your other board works but this one isn't here to support strangers in their one off threads all about themselves. That's pretty AWish, and honestly I'm curious, what kind of responses were you expecting?? You didn't even introduce yourself, but felt the need to come back and brag about your profession like any of us would care to know it. But we don't know you at all.. O18 has been getting to know each other since January/February, we've had 2 babies born, we have moms concerned about going early and moms who are being monitored weekly. But you know what else we have? We've formed genuine friendships, have incredible support group threads, and show a lot of care and respect for our peers in this community. If you took the time to actually lurk, Introduce yourself, and participate you wouldn't need a "reminder on why I am not active on this board" you'd actually want to be a part of this amazing community and It's pretty sad you didn't care enough to go find that out beforehand. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy. I hope your daughter gets an actual middle name instead of a letter to live up to.
@sarah12-2 I'm not sure what you would expect with a strange post like this. It appears by your history you have been a part of this community before in 2016 with your other child. So you should know how this works. When you post a random one off post for the first time 7 months into the pregnancy about naming your kid "kickbutt" then this is the response you would get!

Definition of the word reminder, according to Merriam-Webster:
one that reminds: such as
b : something (such as a note or notification) designed to prompt or aid the memory
You didn't even introduce yourself, but felt the need to come back and brag about your profession like any of us would care to know it. But we don't know you at all..
