I haven’t had an appointment in weeks. Tomorrow is our A/S and regular appointment. I am very nervous, I feel this little guy now but am still scared. After the hematoma issues, I saw LO every few days for a few weeks until the issue was resolved. It’s been over three weeks now. I just need the reassurance he is still okay!!
I’ve got my next appointment with my midwife tomorrow. Should just be a standard appointment but am going to talk with them about pre-eclampsia and blood pressure since I found out my mom had pre-eclampsia with me!
Had A/S today was WHACK! First time going to a new place you wait all these weeks and this joint didn't let me see the screen the entire time. So pretty much stared at the ceiling. Had to get up and walk twice bc this girl would not cooperate. So back tomorrow - but I scheduled at another place close to work to finish up so hopefully I can see her. Now back to waiting for just heart beat apts until heart echo apt in 4 weeks or so. I think this point on it's just quiet!

@LLynde5 I have almost the same scenario as you! I found my SCH around 13 weeks and had weekly ultrasounds from that point to 16 weeks, then I had one at 18 weeks. However, at that appt my doctor said since the hematoma has been stable for awhile now she wants to move back to a more normal appointment schedule. So, it's been about 3 weeks since we've checked in and no ultrasound today.
@mcgeeva What?! That is not a fun A/S at all! My doctor's office has a giant tv screen set up in front of the table for the patient to view while the u/s tech looks at her screen. Hopefully the new place tomorrow lets you see baby!
I have an appointment today - just a dopplar and visit with the doctor. Which I am grateful we have made it to not exciting appointments after the SCH. It's still there as far as I know, hopefully continuing to just hang out and mind its own business. I do want to ask her if we will ultrasound again during the pregnancy to check on it and baby. I have one scheduled for 26 weeks, but nothing after that. After this appointment I start the rotation of meeting the other doctor's in my practice so I won't see her for quite awhile.
@mcgeeva how could they not let you see? that's like 90% of the cool part of a US. Ugh. Hopefully tomorrow's is better!
I have my fetal echo tomorrow, they will also finish up the measurements they didn't get at the AS. Happy to see bb again, but hoping for no real excitement. Just want everything to look like it should and be functioning and I'll be happy!
@mcgeeva I would have lost my shit! That is ridiculous. Do you know why they don't let you look at the screen?
I had my A/S this morning. Baby boy looks great! He was moving around like crazy in there even though i can't feel him! My placenta previa has now become low lying placenta and I am off of pelvic rest!
I also have an appointment with my OB on Wednesday. Should be a quick one.
@Katy0990 - I got a few screen shots but I can't tell what in the hell im looking at Only one head shot that i can see anything @lexidawg - Nope lady was just an @ss. So tomorrow new place I go. Only time I saw was the screen shots when she made me go outside to walk twice. Yeay for no pelvic rest! Hopefully it will continue to move. I still feel nothing as well! @morgantu - Oh I tried to lean on my elbows and look up and was told to lay back down. Lol literally wouldn't let me look and moved the screen closer to herself so my husband stood up the entire time behind her so he could see. I was like what's happening? Is the moving lol. So dumb @snugglyduckling25 - yeah everywhere I have gone to before have multiple screens. Super boring. Glad your SCH cleared up!

@snugglyduckling25 happy to hear about the positive outcome of your SCH too!
@mcgeeva it was the policy at my old OB not to show the screen until after all measurements are taken. I was told so the tech doesn’t get distracted because people tend to ask questions. Also no one in the room until the last five minutes when they would show you the baby and go over what they did. I hated the silence but got use to it eventually. Anyways I am sorry that it wasn’t a positive experience and your tech wasn’t nice or even give you any explanations.
AFM baby boy looks great! No SCH and pelvic rest it over!! I can’t wait to pick my little girl up!! And hopefully not have to hear her say “I know you can’t hold me” ever again!! (I held her all the time just to while I was standing)
@LLynde5 glad your SCH has cleared! Yeah I'm sure each place does differently. She def didn't show us her at the end so no clue if that is just how that one location does things.

After hearing a lot of y'alls experiences, I'm so thankful for my doctor. He has all of his patients schedule their A/S with a MFM and she is amazing. She walks through every part of the baby and is so great at answering questions and making you feel special. I wish all of you were able to have that experience.
AFM, I had my Glucose Screen this morning. I forgot how nasty that sh!t was. I failed my screen with DS1 and had to do the 3 hour. I'm praying I pass this one because I really don't want to have to drink the extra extra extra concentrated stuff.
Super excited because this week I found out I don’t have to do a 24 hour urine analysis!! My blood pressure has been spot on for 2 months in a row so it’s not needed.
Backing myself up, I had to do it last time because high blood pressure. They do it to get a baseline of protein levels. Collecting all pee for 24 hours = not fun.
@awells189 24 hour collections suck! I wish my doctor gave out something to collect pee bc using a solo cup is a pita.

@LLynde5 Yay for being able to pick up your DD! I keep saying my twins will feel SO heavy when I finally get to pick them up again. They are 6 and weigh ~50lbs, so I don't anticipate being able to pick them up until after delivery at some point. Luckily they are old enough to completely get it, but I miss it.
Had a follow up a/s today. Baby girl was still in the same position as last time but I think the tech was better/more patient than the lady I had last time. She got all the pictures she needed. The doctor said everything looks good and I’m gaining weight. Apparently I was losing for 12 weeks and they never mentioned it to me and I rarely weigh myself so I didn’t realize I was losing for so long. Oops. But I’m on track now apparently. In a month I go back for the glucose (fun!) and a growth scan to make sure she’s on track because of the septum.
This is so random, but I picked up a cat today...I was surprised how light it was compared to my 24ish-lb son It’s going to be so strange handling a newborn!

That's awesome! @rosebud332 Glad the follow up a/s went great and they got everything they needed! @PensiveCrayon Lol, my 2.5 year old DD is a giant and weighs like 32 pounds - a newborn is going to be quite the adjustment, haha!
AFM, I have a routine 24 week appointment tomorrow. Just going to hear the heartbeat and check my weight, blood pressure, etc. I am going to mention that I've been feeling lots of pressure already and ask if that's normal because LO is head down, or if that's something to be concerned about, otherwise, just chugging along.
I just had a check-up and doppler this morning. Mr baby's heartbeat is strong I've been concerned because every appointment I weigh in at 1 lb less than before. OB says she's not concerned about it because it's still stable and baby is growing at a normal rate. Next appointment is glucose testing, woohoo!
So went back for A/S today at a much much better place where they actually let me see the screen so I could see her. As I was walking out they made me come back which freaked me out to look at her spine and skin again. I asked if something was wrong if I should be worried and all they said was it's good we have to make sure we see everything to say with certainty. But because they were looking at her lower spine and skin I'm all nervous now. When my youngest son was born they were all checking him bc he had the dimple on his butt at the end of the spine but because it didn't go through the skin his spine was okay no spinabifida. But now I'm all worried if that is what they were looking at again. so now I'm scared. But if it was an issue they would call me today not in two Fridays from now when I see my OB right?

@mcgeeva Glad you got to see your baby girl! I wouldn't worry too much about the spine thing unless they call you soon. I don't think they would let it go for two weeks if it was a serious thing. I do know they have a very extensive checklist of shots and areas they *must* look at/take pictures of for the anatomy scan, so I would assume they just wanted to make sure they saw everything and checked everything off the list! Easier said than done, but try not to worry unless your OB calls you with new information.
@maureenmce yeah I know your probably right just made me nervous the doctor made me come back so the tech could show her in real time.

@mcgeeva Oh I'm sure that would have made me nervous too, but if it makes you feel better, generally, I've found if there's an issue they will tell you asap. My friend had her anatomy scan today and there was an issue with where her cord was located on her placenta and they told her right away and made a follow up appointment for a few weeks from now. They didn't even wait for her OB to call/tell her.
@mcgeeva "show her in real time" makes me think that maybe whatever they were looking at was hard to see on a picture. The baby could have been turned such, or moving just as they took pictures, which is why it might have been easier for the doctor to see everything "live". They had to do that for the fetal echo for us - baby was positioned so awkwardly that you couldn't see one of the major arteries, so TWO doctors walked in and scanned for another 20-30 minutes until they saw it! That was very nerve-wracking but the doctors at our U/S places tell you their findings right away. They never did get the picture, lol.
maureenmce 7 @ab_canada okay that at least makes me feel better. I will have a fetal echo in the next 4 weeks as well. I def think telling people if there is an issue is best asap vs making them wait.

Had our follow up a/s today. Was also supposed to be fetal echo but the sonographer thought it was overkill because the baby's heart looked perfect and h's family history (the reason we were supposed to have it) is adult onset anyway. She just got the regular heart measurements. Also needed the spine and she got all But the very bottom. The brain and rest of the spine look good though, so I don't think we'll go back for one measurement.
The only part that now I'm over thinking is that she might have accidentally told us the sex (we're team green). I told her I didn't want to know and she actually mentioned she couldn't tell me even if she wanted to because the baby was all pretzeled up. Then as we were leaving we were joking about the stubborn baby not moving to the right spot and she goes 'typical boy.....or girl, we don't know!'. I don't know if it was just a mistake or she actually knew the sex and forgot we didn't want to know. But now I'm totally overthinking it; it's not like it will change anything we do.
@PensiveCrayon I routinely carry my cat around like a baby. She's about 8 or so lbs so a pretty good stand-in for a newborn...ya know, if a newborn had fur and a tail.
Had my 22 week appointment yesterday. Everything was normal. Dr. gave me some paperwork on preterm labor. (since I went into preterm labor with last baby. But was able to stop contractions in the hospital and have my baby at 40 weeks). Otherwise, It was a pretty boring appointment.

24 week appointment went well! Got a surprise ultrasound because they wanted to double check to make sure everything is cool with that pressure feeling I've been having and turns it's it's fine, just LO is head down *right* on my cervix, like exactly pressing on it. So I'm probably going to be feeling this pressure as long as he's in that position! They just said to call if I had sudden increased pressure, or lower back pain with cramping. But so far all is well!
It was cool to see LO again and he's measuring right on track, 50th percentile, just like his big sister was throughout my pregnancy with her, and he's measuring 24 weeks exactly, which I am today. He's 1.5 pounds now! Next up, 28 week and the dreaded glucose test (boo.) But happy for now!
I had my a/s last week (I mentioned in the last due date group, but not everyone sees that). I was so surprised by how different I’m feeling about my pregnancy post ultrasound. We decided to find out the sex- it’s a boy. He kept yawning and moving, but not moving in any helpful way. We have to return for a follow up because they couldn’t see all of the heart and part of the throat/chest (I think?) because he was folded in half with his feet up over his head and was very content to stay put.
There was a little mention of a bright spot on the heart, but neither the tech nor midwife seem too concerned about it being a potential marker for Down syndrome. They offered me genetic screening again (I’d declined it earlier, we still aren’t too interested). Everything else they could see was “typical”. They did also point out that the cord enters the placenta on the side and not straight in the center. I hadn’t thought much of that until right now as I’m typing this. Maybe I’ll look that up too and see if it “means anything”.
@tumbleweed-1 I mentioned upthread my friend just had the exact same issue today at her a/s (cord on the side instead of the center of the placenta) and her doctor scheduled her for a follow up a/s in 8 weeks just to make sure everything is still good. He didn't seem concerned, necessarily, just scheduled it for safety's sake. May want to ask your midwife if they plan to do the same? Otherwise seems like it's fine as long as the flow of nutrients is good and baby is measuring on track, which it sounds like is the case.
@mcgeeva with both my son and this baby, abnormalities were noticed at the anatomy scan. Both times, the sonographer brought in a MFM doctor immediately to give us the information and further steps. If they were concerned, I’m sure you would know.
@morgantu We are also team green. We had them make us a DVD of the anatomy scan to show our DS and the sonographer commented that we may be able to tell the sex on the DVD. I feel like that can only mean it’s a boy and am now convinced that we are having a boy and that our big deliver room moment has been ruined haha
@katy0990 right? Now if it's a girl, obviously we'll be super surprised, but if it's a boy, it'll be like welp, yeah. haha it's silly because i really do not have a preference and will be totally happy either way. Now it's just in my head! I'm not sure I could look at a dvd like that without scrutinizing it now. Have you checked?

@morgantu Not yet! In a way, I’m afraid to because if I see anything, I’ll think I know and then DH still won’t. We are planning to watch it later this week so DS can see the baby, so at least we will be watching it together so we will both “know” if we think we see something.
@morgantu and @katy0990 Just from my own personal experience with DS1 and now being pregnant with DS2, it was so blatantly obvious they were boys that I couldnt be team green if I wanted to, lol! So hopefully, baby was in an awk position and y'all really will be surprised!

Backing myself up, I had to do it last time because high blood pressure. They do it to get a baseline of protein levels. Collecting all pee for 24 hours = not fun.

@lexidawg and @LLynde5 So glad you guys are both off of pelvic rest!!!

"show her in real time" makes me think that maybe whatever they were looking at was hard to see on a picture.
