  • My beta was supposed to be tomorrow, but since I will be by the lab this evening, they said it would be fine to stop by then. They said they may not have results until Monday since it is an outside lab and they have to fax it over. Eek. I'm a little nervous because my test this morning was a tiny bit lighter than my test from yesterday morning. I know you cant completely read into that too much, but just hoping it doesn't continue to lighten!
  • @becca0702441 that’s super exciting! I’ve been trying to tell myself not to read into how dark/faint the lines are too, esp with wondfos. Sending you good vibes  <3<3

  • @suziev3 impossible not to be nervous about that, but that’s been happening to me and I’m 6w3d right now, it’s apparently very common and I like to think it’s just the little one snuggling in. As long as it is not heavy or accompanied by painful cramps it is nothing to worry about. Extra testing put my mind at ease tho, so I hope that is the case for you too!

  • @lizy181 @kristimh80 sounds like good news all around today!
  • @lizy181 and @kristimh80 - Congrats on the ultrasounds! So exciting.

I've spent my last two days immersed in 3 types of adoption that I'm finally ready to pursue now that we are closing this chapter:
    1) Infant adoption - We have tons of paperwork to start on now! Yay for progress!
    2) Kitten adoption - Since it'll be at least a year and a half since we have an infant to take care of, we figured that this is the best time. We have adopted two beautiful kitties and they will come home in a week.
    3) Embryo adoption - We still have 7 embryos of supposedly good quality, and we are hoping that someone else might want to try using them. I've been researching the various ways of donating them. My clinic only does anonymous donations, and we would prefer semi-openness since the potential kid(s) would be full siblings to our son. I think we will go through the Miracles Waiting website. I'm ready to do it, like, today, but my husband is still grieving this BFN so we will wait a bit. Have any of you looked into the world of embryo donation/adoption? It's interesting.

Okay, I had my beta around 4:30 PM today at 8dp5dt at a local lab. They Actually gave me a print out of the results. I am having a little trouble figuring out if it is a 4.83 or a 91.2 I am leaning more towards the 91.2 since I did get a positive home test today, but I know blood and urine have different levels. Does anyone know how to read these things?

If it is a 91.2 that is great, I guess I am just a little worried it is not higher that most other I see and the fact my line was either that same as yesterday's or possibly lighter (hard to tell) makes me a little afraid it is a CP and on the way down. Part of me feels ridiculous, but I just can't shake the feeling. Either way, I am probably not going to say anything to my husband until I know for sure.

  • Congrats, @kristimh80 & @lizy181 !!!

@amy8686 - Congratz on your kitty adoption!  How wonderful!  What do they look like?

@becca07024411 - I am so sorry that your results are confusing.  That must be extremely frustrating, especially
right before the weekend.  Since you are testing at home, hopefully you will have a clearer response with your next hpt, but be careful reading too much into those (easier said than done, right?).  If you are leaning more towards 91.2 you are probably right and if so that is a really good beta for 8dp.

@suziev3 - I am surprised your clinic is bringing you in for an ultrasound so early especially because of brown blood.  I would think brown blood is perfectly normal at this point.  Hopefully they are able to give you answers to comfort you.

    Lurking..

@becca07024411 I *think* the 91 is your result.  And most you see are at 10dp5dt which would make you around 180 (give or take) at that date which is a great number!

ETA blood is higher than urine I believe.

  • @becca07024411- I just now saw the scanned image of your result.  I can totally see how that is confusing.  I agree that it looks like 91.29 is your result.  I don't know what that <4.83 would be there for though, that is weird.
  • @becca07024411 - Definitely the 91. Since the other number has ml next to it, I wonder if it's the amount of blood than was drawn or something related to that? Anyway, congrats!!

@Chrysalis7 - They are solid grey. Yellowish eyes. Super cuddly.

  • @becca07024411 I think your quantitative hcg is 91.29. I think the <4.83 is the reference that means anything below that is considered negative.

I’m going to go for it and say a big fat congratulations! You did it!!!
  • @becca07024411 I agree with posted above. And going to say congrats!! <3 If you were <4.84, your HPT's wouldn't show a line or anything.

    @mayflower513 @Chrysalis7 @Amy8686 @megmac2010 @kristimh80

Thanks for all the input and encouragement. I feel kind of crazy that there is no real proof that I should not feel optimistic about this, but you know sometimes you get a gut feel on something and it is hard to get past it.  Up until today I felt good and like it had worked, but today something felt different. Not sure it is just in my head because of the hpt this morning and no cramping anymore today or not.  Hopefully tests the next 2 days will help answer some of that.   IF really messes with your head and keeps you from being hopeful sometimes, I think it is some sort of defense mechanism or something.  I don’t mean to sound winey and ungrateful because I know I am not in a bad position just yet, but the feeling that “of course this is not going to be the cycle. It’s not going to be that easy” always creeps up.

  • @becca07024411 I think after dealing with IF and always getting hit with bad news, it’s a difficult thing to shake expecting the worst. Your beta is a great number, especially for 8 days! There is no “magic number”.. as long as it’s rising that’s what matters. Congratulations!!

@amy8686 we looked into embryo adoption briefly before we settled on donor sperm, but on the receiving end of things. I think that’s such an amazing gift you are willing to give to someone who is struggling, and know that whoever is the recipient will have gone through so much to get to that point and that baby will be so wanted. I’m also so excited for you to start the process on infant adoption, and equally as excited for your new kittens! New little fluffy friends might also help you and your H in the grieving process.. Baby animals make everything better!

    congrats again to @kristimh80 and @lizy181 ❤️
  • @becca07024411 We get it! :) I was aggravated because my lines didn't get much darker really until 10dpt. For some people, they never do, so don't worry too much about it. Try to enjoy it! Your gut feeling is probably just your nerves and being anxious <3

First of all big congrats to @lizy181 and @kristimh80  That is a major milestone and I'm thrilled for you both.
@becca07024411 100% know what you mean about the defense mechanism.  I have no experience with those printouts but I'm gonna go with Congrats as well!
@amy8686 It sounds like you know what you want and you are going for it.  Infant adoption is going to be very exciting.

AFM-  thanks for calming me down, everyone!   I have not had any more bleeding. They did not want me to have an ultrasound just wanted to test my progesterone and switch me to PIO.  I will be scrolling back through this board for all the tips on that.  They think it's most likely irritation due to suppositories but want to be cautious about my progestrone levels just in case. But the reason I went in the first place was for my Beta. See spoiler...
  • @suziev3 YAY!! So happy for you! Glad that figured out what was causing the bleeding. PIO is a breeze once you get the hang of it, plus you don't have to worry about multiple suppositories daily. I always use a heating pad to heat up the oil after it's loaded in the syringe. The shots themselves aren't really in your butt, more like your upper fatty area/ hip area above. I messed this up my 1st round and found it was more painful because I was injecting too low. I do heat the area as well for a second or two before injecting. Always have a paper towel on hand just in case and to help massage the area after. If you get resistance injecting the shot, like it's not easy, then take out and try another spot. The times I didn't do that, it hit something and bled, so I always use that as my rule :)

  • @suziev3 awesome 1st bet, congratulations! And I agree with everything said about the PIO above. They are kind of annoying having to do them every night, but I find them less uncomfortable than stim injections in the stomach since there is no burning! May be sore the first couple days, but don't worry, I find after that even if it bruises or lumps form you barely feel it.
  • @lizy181 so happy for you and your little guy!!!

@kristimh80 yessss!!! Great news on your little girl! So happy for you both!
  • @suziev3 yay!!! I swear you all are giving me hope!!!
  • @becca07024411 - I am sorry that you are not feeling confident.  I swear those darn hpts are a blessing and a curse.  I get it though.  I have been there where the lines get lighter and it is a CP.  I have also been there where the lines looked like they weren't getting darker and it was just taking a while for them to darken.  It is a really tough point in this process and I really feel for you right now.  This is all such a roller coaster ride.  I really hope it all works out for you.

@suziev3 - I am glad the bleeding stopped and glad that your clinic is changing your progesterone route just in case.  That is a great beta!  Congratz!  I had a bit of a rough start with my PIO due to the location of the circle being drawn low (not wrong, just not in the most ideal spot).  I went back for a second opinion from a different nurse and she adjusted the location of the circle and that made a HUGE difference.  There are a few videos that I found very helpful that are from Sher Fertility's Nurse Linda.  They are the Progesterone in oil video and intramuscular injections video.
  • @Chrysalis7 @momifbysea @becca07024411 @mayflower513 @kristimh80 Thank you!!!

Just did my first PIO!  Thanks for the tips.  I did watch that nurse Linda video and it was very helpful.  I am not thrilled about doing needles again, but I am looking forward to not having to do gross suppositories 3x per day!

My first beta was a similar number (I don't actually recall it specifically) and as long as it keeps going up appropriately, it's fine. Beta numbers can be all over the place. -hugs for you- I understand the nerves though!!

    The PIO stinks :expressionless:
Do you have the sesame oil kind or the ethyl oleate? The sesame oil one is super thick and it was always a pain to inject. I turned out to be allergic to the sesame oil though so I got to switch to the lighter ethyl oleate oil which was much easier to inject. You'll eventually start getting knots in your injection areas that you'll have to work around and those take frickin' forever to go away...
