  • Did you ladies feel cramping or anything early on, like implantation?  If so what day? I don’t feel anything.

@suziev3 I believe I started feeling things 2-3 days later. I can't remember exactly, but I had my transfer on a Tuesday and by the weekend I felt little cramps / pulling down low. They kept on along with shortness of breath for the whole TWW and past beta.

  • @suziev3, I felt slight cramping on days 3-6 and then much more noticeable cramping on days 9-11 (like I was about to start).  I think that embryo was just really getting settled in (like breaking in a new couch).

  • Looking for advice. I trust your opinions. Long story short, I have a gf in town...she's single, late 30s...I think she think's she's still in her 20s lol I want her to have fun while in town, but last night she had us out til 2am. Obviously, I was the DD, but was exhausting! She doesn't leave until Monday night. I don't mind showing her around town, but I'm old, married, and can't hang that late. I feel hungover today even though I didn't even drink. So idk what to do! I can't do this mess all weekend. She wants to go to a day time pool party downtown today. I'm ok with that because it possibly means I can avoid another late night. Any suggestions are appreciated!  :s

@leilee101 - Glad to hear you had some reassurance yesterday.  I think that is good that you will have another blood test done on Monday for comfort.

@kristimh80 - That would be hard to be out that late when your body needs extra rest.  Maybe just be straight forward and tell her that you can't handle the late nights anymore.  Then when you are ready to tell her about the pregnancy maybe it will click with her that there was another reason too.  How long is she in town?

The results from my first beta yesterday are below.
194!  I have my next check on Monday.

  • @Chrysalis7 Congrats on your 1st beta!!! I'm so excited for you!
Good idea! I told her about everything right when I picked her up fro the airport. She thought my shots were just for fertility only and why I couldn't drink, so she knows. I maybe a trooper today for a day party in hopes maybe she'll meet some people that want to go out tonight. She's here til Monday night.

@kristimh80 yeah, I would maybe just try to plan some fun stuff during the day so yall can spend time together and won't feel so guilty about not hanging out at night. I think it is totally reasonable to want to end the evening early, but I am team go to bed by 9pm, so I pretty much have no problem shutting something down past a certain time. Would your friend really be upset?
  • @Chrysalis7 yay, that is a good beta number!
  • @becca07024411 Me too...I'm in bed between 9-10pm. We will see...there's a good chance she's pretty hung over today. I just don't wanna be lame and want her to enjoy her time here. We are just in two different places in life, so it's hard. And since she lives across the the country, who knows when I'll see her again.

  • @kristimh80 I have a couple friends like that too! I agree that just be honest with her, it’s good she knows you are doing fertility meds - for all she knows that alone makes you exhausted and feel like shit. Then when you finally tell her you’re pregnant, she’ll understand even more. Definitely don’t push yourself, you can enjoy her company without exhausting yourself, listen to your body.

@Chrysalis7 congratulations!! That’s such a great number to start! FX for a nice rise on Monday
  • @Chrysalis7 congrats on an awesome beta!!! Hopefully this weekend will go by fast for you. <3

@kristimh80 that's a tough one... are there other girls hanging out too? If you are the DD, do they know that you're preggo? If so, I would just be straight with her and say this is a delicate time in your pregnancy and the doctor insists on you taking it easy and getting plenty of rest. She will understand. If you do have to go out again tonight, try to get a nap in before you go and that should help.  I know how you feel though. I had to go sit at a bar with friends a few nights ago and we only stayed until 9 but I was about to die of exhaustion. And they were SO loud!! Ugh! It's tough. Good Luck!

  • @kristimh80 I’m all about white lies, mostly because I hate feeling forced into talking about fertility stuff. I would make up a fake commitment and say you have to head home by 8:30 because of some plans you have. Then put on your comfy pants, take your PIO, and snuggle on the couch.
  • Thanks ladies! She does know I’m pregnant, I told her on the ride home from th airport. I wish I could use those “white lies” but she’s staying with us, so wouldn’t work lol Otherwise, I’d all over that!!! We just left a kids bday, so guess I’ll see how bad she’s hurting when we get home and weigh my options. Trying to be a hospitable host, just so hard when your lives are totally different now.

  • @kristimh80 - Wow, you're a really good friend and host!  That definitely makes it harder since she is staying with you and that she lives far away.  Hopefully she won't want to go out again that late before she leaves, but if she does suggest it maybe tell her that you would like to spend some time at home with her.  Suggest something fun that the two of you like.  Perhaps a board or card game, a movie, or giving each other makeovers (hey it was fun when I was a teenager!  :)    )
  • @Chrysalis7 Great ideas...thank you! That'll probably be a Sunday night thing. I figure if she wants to stay out really late tonight, she can get a hotel if it's that important :)

    @Chrysalis7 Congrats on your results!
  • @kristimh80 when you want to get out of a social situation and go home, all you need is three words: “gotta go; diarrhea.”

But seriously, I agree with folks above, just tell her what you need and she’ll be cool with it! Have a fun, early night!!!

  • @kristimh80 tww is dragging! I’m only 4dp and I’m ready to be done! My clinc doesn’t do beta until day 16, which feels unnecessarily cruel.

But tomorrow’s my birthday so I’m eating cake and insisting my husband waits on me, so I don’t have much to complain about!

How did your early night work out?
  • @megmac2010 I know it's torture, but I hope your birthday tomorrow is a good one! Eating cake and having your husband wait on you sounds amazing!!! Our night ended up working out well. Got home by 11, so was able to get some sleep! I think my gf was upset we didn't stay out, but my husband stood up for me about it all. Needless to say when we go home, she went straight to her room. We are going to the stock yards today for afternoon fun and shopping, so hopefully that'll makeup for it. :)

  • @kristimh80- I think 11 sounds like really nice compromise.  Later than you probably wanted to stay out and earlier than she wanted to come home.  Glad you had an earlier night and was able to get some sleep.  Your friend is very lucky to have a friend like you.  I feel like you have been MORE than accommodating.
  • @Chrysalis7 Awe thanks for saying that. I try to put myself in her shoes if tables were turned. It's just been very weird all around. Neither of us can relate to each other anymore. Guess one of those sad realities i life. Thanks for being so supportive <3

  • @leilee101 - I'm so glad things are ok!

@Chrysalis7 - Congrats!! Yay. And what a crazy "difficult cervix" story. You are tough. I think I might have given up if they told me I needed a two-part procedure like that.

The first few days of my 2WW have been pretty miserable because I got sick. Now that I'm feeling better, I'm also feeling much more impatient. Transfer was Wednesday, so I think that makes today day 4? I'm planning to hold out on testing until Wednesday, but I might test Tuesday if I'm feeling confident. Beta is Thursday.

I'm not feeling particularly hopeful at this point, but I think I'm feeling better than I did in previous cycles at this point. My normal 2WW feeling is "IT DEFINITELY DIDN'T WORK AND ALL OF THIS WAS FOR NOTHING AND LIFE IS UNFAIR" with lots of tears and insomnia and constant angst. So a general feeling of "it didn't work, and life will go on" is preferable at this point. :) I've only cried once this 2WW, and it was while watching a sad movie. That's a record for me on day 4!

  • @amy8686 I'm glad you are feeling better now, but you are right, the impatience is so strong! I feel the same about the TWW feelings. My transfer was Thursday and I was even thinking about testing Tuesday evening, so you are pretty patient planning on waiting until Wednesday!
  • @becca07024411 - Don't praise my patience until we see if I actually make it that long. :)

I've had 3 BFP's in my life, and all 3 were negative for at least the first part of day 6. So if I can wait until day 7, I'll spare myself some unnecessary grief if it's negative. Also, since this cycle is coming after two CP's, even if it's positive I'll be fretting until beta (and beyond).

So, I'm going to do my best!! I may need to stay away from the boards for a couple of days, because if I see BFP's from those of you with Wednesday/Thursday transfers, I'll be too tempted. Ugh, the struggle!

  • Hi all! I have been away on vacation the last few days but wanted to check in because I have all of a sudden developed a rash down my whole left arm. It is just a bit itchy but happened suddenly and I have no known allergies. It’s also been hours since last I ate something. Anyone have a clue if this is a normal pregnancy symptom?

    thanks,

    liz
  • @amy8686 Awe I totally get what you mean! I had planned to not test at all this time, but by the end of day 5, I couldn't help myself! The TWW is brutal and really tests your patience on a whole other level. Do what you need, but we are here for you regardless :-)

@lizy181 Oh no! No, I've never had that issue. Maybe on vacation you brushed up against something? I'd probably call the doctor tomorrow and see what they think. Hopefully, it's temporary and will go away on his own.

  • @lizy181 - The fact that it's just one arm sounds like a random temporary thing, but if it spreads, it could also be that you are developing an allergy to one of the hormones that you're still on. Lots of people start reacting to PIO and need it to be compounded in a different oil, and for me it happened with the estradiol injection (I'm now on a compounded one that's fine).

You can definitely take Benadryl in the meantime. Hopefully it'll just go away on its own!

BTW, my doctor said that allergic reactions like that aren't harmful to the pregnancy at all. Just annoying and uncomfortable to you.

@amy8686- Sounds like your TWW has already been quite the roller coaster!   I hope it goes faster and less painful for you!

@lizy181- That would be scary to get a sudden rash on your arm.  Glad to hear it went away.

    Beta 2 below:
604 - so a doubling time of about 44 hours.  I am very pleased with that!

  • @Chrysalis7 Congrats!! That's a great number!!

Question for you ladies, I called the pharmacy today for a refill on my Crinone and my insurance no longer covers it for some reason. They switched me to Endometrin 3 x a day (Crinone was 2 x a day). Has anyone ever switched progesterone in the middle of FET? The nurse had no problem with it so that makes me feel better but I'm hoping it won't mess me up by switching brands, especially with my u/s in 10 days. Thoughts?
