@mccurleya is he rolling over already? I guess my little dude hasn't started that and we still have him in a sleep sack with his arms out...

My neighbor is doing some kind of walk way to her backyard. There are concrete trucks in front of my house and I can't leave. I'm taking it as God's way of saying I don't really need that Starbucks.

@DDRRT1982 hey! These last months have been something else. Between the obvious sleep deprivation and recently diagnosed ppd, it's been a rough 5 months. But I'm starting to come out of the hardest parts. I'm hoping you and your crew have been living the newest LO!

We wanted to keep swaddling Vinny, but several weeks ago she got too good at breaking out and it became unnerving that she was basically sleeping with a loose blanket. We do use a sleep sack because she tends to sleep cold. We need bigger ones but they're expensive compared to baby blankets and clothes!

We had a family bbq today and a lot of people who hadn't met LO came over. So of course that meant "pass the baby" would happen. I honestly hate that and let MH deal with his family. Well he got fussy after a bit and I went to get him and MHs uncle says "oh yeah he love chewing on my knuckles"...... it's like how do I respond to that? All I said was "please don't let him do that" when I wanted to say "when was the last time you washed your hands and what have you touched before putting your nasty fingers in my sons mouth"

Okay moms, question: what do you count as sitting up? N can sit up for maybe 30 seconds on her own (using her arms for support) if I get her into position, but she can't get into position on her own or hold it longer than that. What do you count (time, position, etc) as sitting independently?

We got 4 month shots today and Nate is doing surprisingly well. Smiling and chewing on his toes. I hope it lasts!

@crossfitbabybump we had the same thing. The few days before he had 2 teeth come through he didnt have any appetite (probably had about 60%of his normal intake) and slept like crap! He only took short naps and woke up a bunch at night. After the teeth came in he ate normal and took better naps.

And I think he might be getting another tooth? Is there like no break in between???

Eta: I bought the teething egg to try since he doesnt much like his other teethers and he LOVES it. It's easier for him to hold and has a clip thing so when he drops it it doesn't fall on the floor.

@crossfitbabybump Mine haven’t actually cut a tooth yet, but their gums must be really sore because they basically don’t eat unless they’re really tired or asleep. They are sleeping fine though. Doing lots of dream feeds around here!

Our boys are still on 100% fortified breastmilk, except that a few times 2 months ago P was constipated and our pediatrician said to give him 1 ounce of prune juice (has not happened recently). This morning he had a full on turd. N still has all breastmilk normal poop. Is this cause for concern? Should I call the doctor? He was a little irritated yesterday, but could have been teething related and he seems fine otherwise.

Thanks ladies! @sgrn18 - I got alice the teething egg, too! she hasn't quite picked up on how to hold it long enough yet, lol. but she does love her rubber ducky and chews the crap out of that! she loves the frozen teething rings, too. it's just her sleep schedule is all whack now and she was such a GOOD sleeper before

@vflux33 The same thing happened with Nora last week! She is still EFF, but had about a week of very real not-baby poops. Her poop went back to normal a few days ago - nothing about her eating/sleeping/behavior changed at all. I'm going to mention it to the ped tomorrow, so I'll let you know if she says it's a cause for concern.

@vflux33 Eh, I'd probably call. I know a mom who added a probiotic to help a similar poo issue - all FF though. How much longer will they need the fortified milk; maybe P will need a little water added or less fortifier if he gets constipated more easily?

Thanks, guys. An hour or so after I posted this I noticed blood when I was wiping him so I called. The blood was not in the actual stool, which is good. Probably caused by straining, the nurse said. We’re supposed to use vasoline, soak him in warm water to relieve his irritation a bit, and keep an eye on him.

@becausescience We were told to keep using the fortifier at least until 6 months as they are still both below the growth chart for weight, though P is bigger than N... we did add extra fortifier to make the frozen milk more palatable so we are going to stop doing that (I don’t know if that was the problem though as we only did that a little and only for one feeding per day and he hasn’t been as constipated as he was a month or 2 ago).

With my oldest she always had nasty BMs right before she got new teeth in. This March baby is doing the same, usually can go 6-7 days without a BM and past 48 hours she’s gone 6x and it stinks! They say it’s from the saliva mix in their tummies from drooling.

@slr1229 Now that you mention it, N had a tooth right under her gums waiting to burst through while she had her weird poop phase. And the poop normalizing did coincide with the tooth popping out! I never would've thought there was a connection though!

Thanks for the love ladies. I am glad I wasn't ashamed to seek help. Just wish I would have recognized it sooner.

And add us to the weird poops and fussiness train. G3 is blowing through diapers left and right....

UO here...I can’t stand that drake song where he says “Kiki, do you love me?” Even more annoying are all the people jumping out of their moving vehicles to dance to it.

Ohhhhh ladies. Get ready for TMI and a lot of gut-spilling: this is the only place I can do it!

So Nora is EFF, and I went back on birth control as soon as physically possible. Even on the pill, I had a lot of breakthrough bleeding that I discussed with my doctor. She said it was fairly normal as my body readjusted PP - if it didn't level out within a few months, I'd go see her. In July, a pharmacy mix-up meant I got my pills later than I should have. I decided not to take the pill at all that month to see when my period would come naturally (without the hormones trying to hold it off), at which point I could start again - I hoped if the pill was better in sync with when my period WANTED to come (even though I started it the right way from the get-go), I'd have less breakthrough bleeding. My husband and I agreed to use condoms for the month - and we did! Except for two times we had unprotected sex. And, well, now it looks like I'll be splitting my time between here and the April 2019 board.

I am shocked, to say the least. We have always wanted a big family and we planned on starting TTC when N was around a year old, but this is all MUCH sooner than we expected! We have a history of loss and TTC has always been an ordeal for us, so the fact that this happened so easily - no ovulation tests! no special diet! no anything! - is mind-blowing and we know that we're fortunate. Aside from the obvious logistics that we'll work out (money, how do I tell my boss?, etc.), two things are making me feel upset. First: Nora was born a month early, which makes all future babies at a risk for being premature. Getting pregnant again so soon only increases the risk for this LO (how crazy is it that there is going to be another LO, oh my God). And then there is my poor sweet Nora. She just turned six months old, and I feel like we're robbing her of just being our baby. I don't want her to feel shorted of any love or attention, I don't want her to feel like anything less than all we need. While a pregnancy is something for us to celebrate, I feel guilty that our irresponsibility put our kids in these positions.

I'm also having trouble keeping in perspective that historically for us, a positive pregnancy test does not necessarily mean a baby will wind up in our arms. It is so early (literally 4 + 1 - and again, how crazy to be counting like that again so soon) and I know that anything can happen. Right now, I'm just trying to focus on being as healthy I can for this baby's sake. And I'm going to soak in every single moment with Nora I can. Life is 197% crazy, ladies!

@ashtuesday oh my gosh! Congratulations!!! First of all, I totally get all of your feelings about robbing Nora of her babyhood, but you aren’t! These little people are going to be so close in age that they will be the best of friends. Also, seek the help of a perinatologist. At least get a consult. Maybe they will have suggestions for how to carry closer to term. It would at least be worth the monitoring. I am so excited for you.
