Re: 1st trimester Check in -Week of 7/30

  • @JamieH2000 Good to hear your scan went well today! Sorry you're having to deal with everything else though. Praying it absorbs so you don't have to deal with anything else.

@darkstar42 Great news!! I get your frustration of wanting a girl. We are having a girl, but really hoped for a boy first...of course all my abnormal embryos were boys so have no choice. The whole figuring out names is another story...MH and I can't agree on many either. We had our boy name picked and now with a girl I can't even wrap my head around it all.

  • @ashleyj315 Welcome!! I feel the same as you do! I feel like I had more symptoms during the tww then now. Mainly just  little more tired and really bloated. I think it'll always be something! Best of luck on your 1st scan, mine is a couple days after your's. I told DH I'll probably close my eyes during it until they tell me they see stuff. You're probably just one of the lucky one's with no morning sickness, etc :)

  • @ashleyj315 You'll find we're all a bunch of lurkers at heart here  I had my IVF baby at the end of March and I still follow all of the threads so I can offer my experiences/etc for support! Alot of us do that

As for snowstorms....well, I don't have those but I was pregnant during our hurricane last year (Irma). No A/C or electricity for 7 days during the first trimester....soooo much fun. I also fell on a slippery pile of fallen limbs outside when we were out taking in the damage and freaked out, but the nurse assured me that I had hurt my bottom more than the baby.  Ouch. Will DH be able to take off time when baby comes? My DH works very long hours and being able to take off 8 weeks of leave was a real boon for his bonding with baby. Now I feel like he never gets alot of quality time with her during the week since by the time he's home, she's usually setting up for bed...and she's usually asleep when he leaves in the morning.

  • @darkstar42- I totally get your feelings about a boy. Me and DH are hoping for a girl as well, tho obviously we will be thrilled with a boy too! I think DH just wants a girl since our nephews are very naughty (their parents fault, not theirs) and my friends girls are all just so sweet to him. I try to tell him it will be different, either way, with our own!

@prudence9-2- thank you! Can't believe in 2 weeks I will be with you in the second tri!

@ashleyj315- welcome and i am glad you decided to join us! We have a real nice group of ladies going here now :) can't wait for your first scan, only a few more days! Hopefully they will keep giving you more frequent ones if you had to do treatments to get here or have an IF history.

New here...ugh, the app cut my post...so here’s the edit

I’m back after almost 3 years when I got pregnant with my son after 2 years of IF. Got pregnant just before Inwas headed back to the fertility clinic...I was very surprised by that, and certainly feel like IF has been a huge part of my life for the past 5 years...so here I am.

    EDD: April 4

Upcoming appointments: dating ultrasound next Wednesday

how I’m feeling: tired and nauseous. Started diclectin (diclegis) yesterday.

thoughts: Just starting to feel like this is real.

@Drove2u I remember you from the IF board 3 years ago. How have you been?

  • Omg @kidshrink so great to “see” you again!! I’ve been great. Have a 19 month old daughter and now 7 weeks all over again. HAHa. How are you doing?

  • Aww! So glad to hear you’re doing well! My little guy is 27 months now! My health was quite the sh*t show after he was born (long story), so it took us longer than initially planned to try again! But here we are at 5 weeks!
  • Lurking from 2nd trimester...

@JamieH2000 yay!!! Can’t wait for you to be with us in 2nd trimester!!

Funny but I also wanted a girl when I started trying. But after so many failures, when I did this transfer, I didn’t care anymore. And now I’m super excited to have a lil boy  <3

  • @kidshrink I totally remember your story. That was so scary. How are you doing now? Are you still recovering?
  • @Drove2u I’ve got some residual numbness in my legs (fairly mild) that is my new normal. But you’d never know I was once paralyzed...I can even run now, which is really useful with a toddler! I’ll have to have a csection under general anesthesia for this baby, but I can live with that!
  • **lurking ** @kidshrink and @Drove2u hi ladies !!! I’m back on here after a lonnnng break after having my son from IVF almost two years ago (20 mo to be exact ). I’m no longer in first tri currently but I’m 15 weeks with my second ... a surprise baby this time . We were planning on IVF at the end of this year and then a miracle happened . It’s so good to see y’all on here again !! Congrats to you both !!
