So, I have been having some vision issues the past week, such as noticed some eye floaters. I didn't think too much of it and I figured I would bring it up at my next doctor's appointment. Recently, it's been getting annoying though so I went ahead and called my doctor. I was told I should go ahead and get my blood pressure checked just to make sure. So, I went to the closest CVS and found out my reading was 144/88. I felt my heart drop as soon as I saw that, because I couldn't help but wonder how long it's been high. I called my doctor back and they want me to come in tomorrow morning. Crossing my fingers its nothing serious.
@flamingomomma I really am sorry you're going through all this. You need to do what is best for yourself and your children. Please take time for yourself and I would seek out counseling or therapy separate from him to help you through this process. Emotional abuse is no joke, and manipulation and mind games are what some people thrive off of. Unfortunately, those people do not understand that there is anything wrong with what they are doing, and therefore the problem can never really be fixed. I hope you find peace with whatever your decision is, and that you and baby are happy, healthy, and loved!
@flamingomomma I’m so sorry you’re going through all of this. When someone is emotionally abusive and trying to convince you that *you’re* crazy, it’s really helpful that you are able to name (at least to yourself) that that is what’s happening. There’s no quick fix, but any decision you come to through a thoughtful & considered process, thinking about what is best for you and your kids, is going to be the right decision for you.
As a therapist, I’m glad to hear you’ve already got your own individual therapist. Depending on your situation, couples therapy might actually be another opportunity for abuse — so I definitely recommend discussing with your own therapist before considering couples therapy.
@whitneyb89 I hope your appointment goes well today!
I thought it was too early for me to be feeling this tired and uncomfortable. I wake up in the morning and my whole body is sore. I'm sore all day until when I go back to bed (which has been, like, 830 every evening because all I want to do at that point is just lay down and do nothing). I'm exhausted but also weirdly restless. And so moody and sulky. I feel like it may be because of the progesterone, which means I'm just gonna have to deal with it, but UGH! Can I fast forward a few months? I just want my baby, damnit.
@flamingomomma I’m so sorry again that you’re dealing with this. I’ve heard that you should not go to marriage counseling with an abuser as it can just teach them more ways to manipulate you. It sounds like he is unremorseful as well. Good for you for getting out of an abusive situation. I hope you’re able to remove yourself safely both physically and emotionally. Many hugs and prayers for strength!
@hkom sounds like a rough time. Just remember that in a few short months, baby will be here! And rest while you can. Hopefully you're sleeping better and more restfully (is that even a word?).
I am officially into the later pregnancy symptoms and I’m not quite 19 weeks. My hip (SI joint) is bugging me already. Here’s hoping it goes away and I don’t have to break out the belt from last time. I also have that super fun kicked-in-the-crotch feeling the last few days. The RLP pain is also more noticeable now during more of the day instead of just when rolling over in bed.
Thanks @katy0990 and @scaredunprepared . I'm trying not to complain too much. Things could be so much worse and I try to remind myself of that. I'm super grateful that absolutely nothing is wrong with the baby, at least as far as what everything has shown to this point. It's just such a frustrating feeling having your body just decide to not perform a pretty important function properly, for no real reason.
Update from appointment this morning. Everything, looked good so far. My blood pressure was back down, so they didn't seem too worried. Got some much needed relief.
@Katzalia I feel you on the hip pain. I still wake up multiple times through the night due to my hip being sore. There's been plenty of days where the pain sticks around until I walk enough to make it go away.
@Katzalia I've been having a lot more RLP lately too! And I hear you with having the late pregnancy symptoms already. Yikes.
@hkom You are more than entitled to complain, with the issues you've been dealing with! And progesterone can be tough, I've heard, so definitely cut yourself some slack! Rest up as much as you can and vent here whenever you want - no one is going to get it more than a bunch of other pregnant ladies!
I mentioned this I think before, but it is still so weird to me - I am having side pains that feel like actual bump growing pains and they are so annoying! I don't remember this with my first (you'd think I would have had more growing pain issues the first time around than the second!) though my bump is much bigger now than it was at this point when pregnant with my DD, so who knows? Anyway, ouch.
... vent here whenever you want - no one is going to get it more...
Agreed

@maureenmce I am having something that could be "bump growing pains" every once in a while. It feels like after eating a really big Christmas dinner.. I feel like my bump has grown a lot over the last few days and I am not sure how to feel about that.. I think I look as big as the lady in the office who is a month ahead of me, but then she has a longer torso, so maybe that's the reason...
@ab_canada I just read yesterday that wee babies often grow extra fast in weeks 22 through 35. I found that info nugget when I was worrying yesterday about my minimal weight gain, despite my OB saying that I'm fine. I only gained one pound in the last four weeks, but kiddo is on track, so now I'm just expecting to start seriously gaining next week when I hit week 22.

@hkom you get to vent & get support all you want. Some of us are complaining about discomfort (still legit but not so serious), but you are dealing with some extra, more scary concerns, on top of the typical PIA stuff. Reach out any time.
@maureenmce I’ve felt the “bump growth” too, though it’s a little hard to tell how much is that vs. the pulled muscle in my abdomen. It’s interesting how there was not really much growth for a long time and then all of a sudden, things are really growing! It’s exciting and annoyingly uncomfortable all at once.
@whitneyb89 sorry you are having hip pain too. It’s great that you know walking helps it a lot. With mine it’s that things are getting looser in the SI joint and it gets out of alignment. Usually a couple of PT sessions and wearing an SI belt help a lot, but I’m hoping I can stretch and get keep things in place on my own for a while longer.
@maureenmce I kind of feel like I'm having something similar? It's not quite painful, but every once in a while I'll get this feeling like I am actively being inflated! Like a balloon! It's this really intense stretching/expanding feeling in my abdomen - it's such a bizarre sensation.
So this child has been quite active the past 24 hours. But in addition to all the fluttery kicks, I’m having this odd stretched quivery sensation all across my belly. It doesn’t feel like contractions and it’s not painful. It does make me feel a little dizzy/queasy. It’s been going off and on most of the day. Has anybody else had anything like that going on?
@echo-charlietango I didn’t gain weight really until ~20 weeks this time. Now I’ve been gaining for sure (22 weeks). I keep getting asked - wow when did that bump appear? Im enjoying my bump. On another note - zofran is not being my friend anymore. It was a life saver with ds1 & ds2. I needed it first tri a little with this pregnancy. However when I take it now it is giving me such bad constipation. Yesterday was not fun.
@Activebaby I’m just waiting to wake up some morning and say “holy sh!t, I’m really really pregnant!”
OMG y’all. I have been so gassy today - upper digestive tract. Fun fact - I can’t burp - nearest I can do is a “croak” it relieves gas in tiny increments, but only happens on the inhale. So when I say “can’t burp” I don’t mean that it’s gross and I won’t, I mean “my body is not designed to burp at all.” So this progesterone slowing down digestion has been a real butt. I need to lay down after most meals (on my left side, because that position best allows for my attractive croaking), but today has been a real record breaker. I have been croaking since breakfast. So...about nine hours. I ran errands this afternoon, but came straight to the couch to lay down and croak as soon as I got home. And just a moment ago I got up to pee, and could hardly stand up. So now I am trapped on the couch again, but REALLY need to do non-couch-bound things. Ugh.
(PS, doctors aren’t concerned about it because I do have a workaround, it’s easy to avoid chugging sodas, and the croaks are painless. Every few years I find another who cannot burp! Either I hear their croak, or I see them genuinely sad about turning down a beer.)

@hkom are you taking progesterone shots?? I am too! Started them at 16 weeks and I haven’t researched the side effects, mostly because I’m scare too. Can’t i just blame being extra bitchy and fat and miserable on that? Ugh. They hurt so bad and I’m so over them already. Hugs to you, I totally feel your pain.
@flamingomomma I’m so sorry you’re having to go through this right now. I divorced a controlling narcissist myself awhile back and, while it was a really ugly year, was the best thing i could have done. Stay focused on the better days to come, hugs momma!
@echo-charlietango that sounds way uncomfortable!! I don’t go anywhere without tums lately... would those help at all if you had them before it hit you?
As for me, I’m fine I suppose. Grumpy over these stupid progesterone shots- they hurt and I feel like they’re making me extra hormonal. Blah. I’ve been super exhausted again lately too, but if I can force myself to workout it seems to help me get through the day- I think I mostly need to just force myself to rest when I can and eat/drink enough. I’m so bad at being pregnant when I’m usually nonstop and don’t take super good care of myself throughout the day as far as eating and drinking enough so I’ve just gotta be smarter!
@orangecrush29 I just have the suppositories. The side effects are supposed to be much milder with them, since the hormone goes straight to the cervix/uterus, but I'm still feeling it. I can't imagine getting the shots and having it through my whole system. You probably feel the pain much more than I do!

Why is being pregnant so much fun?
Complain away! Better here, where people "get it", than other places..

The weird vibrating-buzzing sensation finally eased up after I laid down before dinner. It’s such an odd, distracting sensation.
