I taught my friend how to kayak yesterday, but because she doesn't have a lot of upper body strength, I had to help her get set up and going, and then had to pull her out of the water when a storm set in. Then I was dumb enough to stay very busy all day yesterday with baking, cleaning, yard work, etc. Today I'm exhausted right down to my bones and EVERY muscle in my body is aching. Note to self - energy bursts while pregnant DO NOT mean to spend the entire day on the move. So tired.

That was me Saturday. I took DS to Taekwondo, then we went to a street festival in our town and then we went to Pride in the neighboring city. By the time we got home I could hardly move my back hurt so bad. I hardly did anything yesterday and soaked in an Epsom salt bath.
I learned early this morning that my RE died in an accident this weekend. I feel so awful for his family. Between pregnancy hormones and the death of the doctor that made my pregnancy possible, I'm a bit of a mess this morning.
Friday morning DD woke up with her whole body covered in a fine rash. She was acting completely normal, no fever, good mood, etc but we took her in to the doctor to get checked. They diagnosed her with HFM and said to keep her home Friday, the weekend, and possibly today. They told us to watch out for a fever, blisters in her mouth, and cold like symptoms. Also, that the rash would turn to blisters probably and then scab over. Well, we explained that about a month ago we were pretty sure she had HFM because a little boy at the sitter had it and she had had a high fever a few days prior and a blistery diaper rash. But they did say there are multiple strands and it could be that again.
Well, she never got a fever, never acted like she felt bad, and her rash was gone by the time she went to bed yesterday. The rash never even blistered or got worse. We haven't changed detergents, soaps, perfumes, or anything since she's been born and neither has the babysitter. So either we are lucky and got a super easy case of HFM or it was a skin reaction to SOMETHING and we just odn't know what
If it's an consolation @emmaaa my friend has a daughter who gets mysterious rashes almost any time she's sick in any way. She gets the sniffles and a rash and then it's gone within a day. It drives my friend nuts but she's sort of used to it by now.

@ladystout08! Someone else had said the same thing and said maybe she had had a slight fever earlier in the week and this was a reaction to it. Who knows.I am glad she never acted sick though.
ugh +1 @leighbrek. We have a rental house and stained the fence all day yesterday since we have renters moving in Weds. Like 2400ft of fence, two sides. THEN came home and one of our dogs had pooped all over her crate, through the bars, on the wall... DH really stepped up with cleaning that (and again this AM when she did it). SO SO SORE.

GAH. I got stuck in the text box! Their suspicion is that she gets a rash whenever she gets anything viral and her body tries to fight it off. Depending on how sick she gets, determines how long the rash stays. Our kids are the same age and I think it was around the time they were two they did allergy testing and all that jazz and decided it was nothing major.
I got up to pee at 4 AM and baby was having a dance party in there. I put my hand on my abdomen and felt a kick from the outside! I'm slightly concerned that baby is still so low. 17+0 today and my ute feels like it's barely above my pelvic bone. All the baby kicks are really low in that area too. I am average height (5'5") but I have shorter legs and a long torso so I wonder if that has anything to do with it. I don't remember even thinking about this with DD or DS let alone stressing about it so I don't have a comparison. But regardless, the baby kicks are super fun!

@ers7924 It is A TON of fun, and a nice upper body workout that is only as strenuous as you want it to be (unless you're hauling someone out of the water before lightning strikes, Hahaha). Definitely one of my favourite activities.
@emmaaa My DD gets a really fine rash on her stomach anytime she gets a virus. Sometimes she gets it for what seems like no reason and I just assume she must have fought off some kind of little bug! She NEVER gets rashes other than for this reason. It's really strange.

A couple of months ago, DS came home from church and had blisters all over his hands and feet. I immediately thought it was HFM, and a dr confirmed it the next day. Cue me feeling awful for sending him to the church nursery. I prepared for the next week to be awful since I'd Googled all the horror stories about how bad HFM can be. But the same thing happened with him.. no fever, mouth blisters (though I did notice a decreased appetite), and the blisters were completely gone after 2 days.

@AliKay20 ugh I would kill for some rain and gloom it's been 95+ for the last 2 weeks and our AC units are lackluster to say the least. Can we fast forward to October w/thick blankets, legging, sweaters, & crunchy leaves?!
My weekly random - I just got my first ever pair of maternity jeans and daaaaaaamn. My only regret is that I've waited this long. Also, I'm now Jessica Simpson's biggest fan in everything maternity. I feel so lame lol but it's the only brand at Motherhood Maternity that had some non-corny pizzazz without feeling frumpy/overly-maternal.
@AliKay20 it's supposed to rain here again and we can't handle much more. Our river just crested last Friday and we're really close to flood stage. A lot of smaller towns with creeks and branches of the river flooded last week.
@kianarain I just ordered a bunch of Jessica Simpson stuff from MM for the exact reasons you listed. It's the only non-frumpy stuff, I regret not ordering more pants during the huge sale last week. I've been checking every day in case there is another one
@galactickates not sure if it's still going on, but MM had an in-store buy one get one 50% on all tops and pants. Dropped a nice bit of money but feeling great about my basics. Oh and bras that actually fit!!

Ugh, that’s horrible!! We’ve had some pretty bad rain this Summer and I agree, it needs to end after all that we got. I’m really hoping it doesn’t flood where you are. We had flood warnings on and off last week. Stay safe!
@kianarain they have that deal at the store near me, but I got everything 50% off with an additional 30% with an additional 10%. I'm looking out for that deal again. I got 9 things for under $60 - but no pants. That sale spoiled me, so now i'm chasing that deal again. Right now the website has 30% off sitewide. At least it was yesterday. I haven't checked today yet. If I see that deal again I will tag you if you want me too.
@emmaaa I am someone who gets viral rashes as well. Usually I feel ick for a day or two, maybe a headache and minor fever. Then AFTER the fever is gone I get a rash all over my torso. It’s usually a 48 hour thing and it’s gone!
I had a good week long break from MS and then it came back with a vengeance. I'm so frustrated. I'm so hungry but anything that goes in comes out within half an hour. Today I've had watermelon and a tablespoon of peanut butter. My blood sugar is so low and I don't know what to do. I'm 14+5 and still 8 pounds down from when I got pregnant.
@bdream0916 Morning sickness sucks, especially in the second trimester. I had another round of it a couple weeks ago. Hope it goes away!
If it’s raining where you are send it over to California! It’s hot (25 consecutive days at 100 degrees or higher) and we’re on fire.
We had a pretty nice weekend despite the heat. We got together with some of DH’s former coworkers for a pool party and bbq. I wasn’t the only pregnant lady there so it was nice to be sober with someone.

@AshVA I'm so sorry for your loss. It's so shocking when someone dies suddenly.

He never had any signs of HFM even though it was going around his daycare, and then he popped up in this crazy rash for a day and a half before it went away. I took DD outside to play with her water table. By the time it was done she was soaked and covered in dirt from crawling around in the grass. When we came in I gave her a bath and put her in her PJs. Then I changed into my PJs and now we're having a stay inside pajama party for the rest of the day. Excuse to be lazy and not go out? Maybe. But I'm super comfortable.

I went to work this morning only feeling a little bit nauseous but by the time I walked around and stood in one spot for around while the nausea was kicking me hardcore. I kneeled on the ground to use the computer then had to sit down. I started to feel dizzy and all outside noises went quiet and there was a loud buzzing in my ears. I recovered without passing out but my coworker insisted I leave. She offered to drive me home but I said I thought I'd be ok. Then I had to tell my manager why I was leaving and told him that the other lady who does my job is the only other person who knows im pregnant there. Now I'm concerned he's going to blab to other managers. I had to get ahold of my hubby before he left to my sil's to drop my daughter off. She has a bad cold so has been super whiney all day but cuddly so I've been able to just lay around all day because whenever I'm up for extended periods of time I feel more nauseous again. I feel bad my hubby is off in a half hour and I've done nothing, the house is a mess and I'm not making dinner. 15 weeks today and I am so over being nauseous. I'm expecting another 6 weeks of this if this pregnancy is anything like my last one. Sorry for the rant, just feel like there's no one to talk to!
