Re: August 2018 FET

  • @ndz2018 when it was prescribed to me was the first I had heard of it too! Apparently it promotes blood flow to the uterus and beefs up the lining. And it apparently worked! I was stuck at 6.4 for two weeks (my clinic wants 8) and this morning it’s 9.3!!

Nurse just called. Transferring on Wednesday, August 1! Finally!!
  • @megmac2010 welcome to the Aug board - looks like you'll be kicking it off for us!
I posted on July already but had my lining check this morning and everything looked great. Transfer is set for 8/2. I start the dreaded PIO on Saturday  :#

GL to everyone with lining checks today!!

For those if you who are put on BCP.... does anyone get headaches from it?  I got severe headaches when they put me on it before my hysteroscopy. I started it again yesterday and woke up this morning with another headache. Excedrin hasn’t touched it. Anyone have a miracle cure??
  • @megmac2010 WOW that's an awesome increase YAY for viagra not only making men hard but helping ladies with their lining for FET's!! WINNING (in both situations)  ;)
  • @ndz2018 we’ve been making jokes about my “uterus boner” and it makes me laugh so hard.

@madasm0530 one day apart. We can be tww buds!

@J1006 no bcp here, but when I start new meds I need to drink a ton of water to avoid headaches. Hope you feel better soon!

Only natural thing I can think of is rubbing peppermint oil on your temples, rest, and stay hydrated.. none natural    Have you tried advil? A cup of coffee?

@megmac2010 wow that’s a lot up there!  I can’t imagine doing more that the progesterone suppositories.  I hate them, and they always make me feel like I’m going to get a uti.  Glad your lining looked good!

@J1006 bcp don’t do that to me.  Sorry the excedrin is not helping.  Usually that helps me a lot.   Hope you feel better soon!

@ndz2018 glad PT is going well and your doing good!
  • ****TW pregnancy and loss******
Hi, everyone, I am still catching on this board, it's nice to see so many ladies going through August FET that are so actively involved already.

I have not been on here in quite some time as we had 5 failed FETs but our one in January  finally worked and we were pregnant with twins.  Unfortunately at 20w5d we lost them in May after going into preterm labor, and the last two months have been extremely difficult, emotionally and physically.  We are trying to remain hopeful from the future and have been cleared for an FET towards the end of August (barring complications of course).  I am currently on provera and once AF arrives will have baseline ultrasound and hopefully start 3 week prep.

Can't wait to get to know you all and hope we see lots of BFPs next month!

@bethann1022. Welcome!  I’m so very sorry about your loss and troubles with FETs.  You will definitely find support here. This is a great group of ladies.

Thanks for the suggestions!  My headache subsided a little bit this afternoon but it’s back. One of my nurses suggested Gatorade too. @ndz2018 I think I’m going to switch over to Advil. I try to avoid caffeine and don’t want to take a ton of Excedrin. I’ve never heard of using peppermint oil but I’ll definitely give that a try too!
  • @bethann1022 Sending you lots of love and light this cycle. I’m so sorry to hear about your losses, I have no words. Hoping Aug is your month doll :) Welcome and you will for sure find lots of support with these lovely ladies!

@J1006 Take Advil while you can  ;)!! Try the peppermint oil!! A non stop head ache is the worst!
  • @ndz2018 - It will be great to have someone share that dreaded TWW with!

@madasm0530 yes, I'll be on Lupron for about 3 weeks!

  • Catching up on page 4 posts...
@bethann1022 sorry to hear about everything you've been through.  welcome to the board... FX for you!

My RE only has me on the Estradiol patches.  Started with 1 and then increased to 4 patches by this weekend.  I am also drinking pomegranate juice daily and prenatal vitamins.  Baseline blood work and ultrasound next week.

  • @sbjbrn the patches are the worst! They are sooo itchy and leave big red marks all over me. I’m running out of real estate to put them! Are they bothering you too?
  • @bethann1022 Welcome! I'm so sorry about everything you've been through, your courage is inspiring.

@megmac2010 @madasm0530 Glad to hear your lining checks went well!

AFM, my lining check was ok..around 5.5/6, as to be expected after four days of stims.  I go back Sunday which will be more telling. Annnnd the waiting game continues.

Excited to be kicking off the August group with a transfer on Aug 1st!  This transfer will be 2 months in the making so I am more than ready.  Looks like I'll have company with @madasm0530 and @megmac2010

@bethann1022 Welcome.  Sorry for your loss.  I'm sure facing another FET could be daunting after all you have been through and I admire your strength.  Glad you keep looking to the future and know you will find support here.
  • @bethann1022 I am so sorry to hear about your losses.  Praying that August is your month!

afm, starting to feel crampy.   Looks like AF will be here just in time for the weekend.  Ugh.

@megmac2010 I haven't experienced itching as of yet, but the red marks are real! I also think I may be receiving a free wax service with them.   :s I applied 3 patches today and will apply 4 on Saturday.  The nasty residue that builds up around the patches is a pain to try to remove.

Omg! You guys are making me so thankful I don’t have to do patches. That sounds horrible!!

i went in to sign my consent forms today. My RE changed my protocol a tiny bit from last time. I will be taking double progesterone in the four days leading up to my FET.  My next appointment isn’t until August 17th. I feel like that’s so far away!!
  • Finally!! It took 3 days but I can finally post! Hi!! Id like to join this group bc only those going through it understand!! Just had my base line apt on 7/23. 2mg Estrace daily, then 2 x 2mg Estrace starting 7/30, first lining check 8/2. Expecting FET the week of 8/13. I'm so nervous and I have looked on these boards waaaaay to  much that past year! The only thing "special" I've done through this is acupuncture bc it really seems to be the only thing that is proven and not an old wives tale. That doesn't mean I wont be buying a pineapple and brazil nuts before transfer day! LOL

  • @knottie377dbaf77276c9c9 Welcome! I do all the theories, myths, and rumors, just to be safe. Ha! It makes me feel like I might have more control over the situation than I do.  But I've been much better about going about my normal day and not obsessing about IF constantly this cycle.
@sbjbrn - I signed up for the same free wax service apparently! I prefer the mini-ville brand vs the sandoz.  Smaller and not as hard to remove.  Too bad my insurance wants me to use the other one.
  • @knottie - Welcome to the Aug FET party!! May I make one suggestion? Change your  bump name from @knottie377dbaf77276c9c9 so it’s easier to tag you in the future it I’m almost positive it’s in “My Account”  . You will for sure find a ton of support from this awesome group of ladies!
  • Hi ladies. I started the PIO last night! It was not near as bad as I was afraid. But I filled the syringe (1ml) and put it in my bra (ha ha) left it there for about an hour. The worst part was my hubby went in slow with the needle. I then put a heating pad on it for a few minutes and massaged. I am not even sore this morning! Good luck to all of you! I will say the endometrin does feel very weird. I used Crinone for my fresh IVF. But I get the call Saturday to tell me what time to be there Tuesday morning!
  • @Rebelfirecpl glad to hear the PIO wasn't too terrible. I start PIO tomorrow and am pretty nervous but need to stop worrying! I also start Medrol tomorrow - anybody else have this prescribed? Everything I've read indicates that it's a steroid to assist in implantation.

Anyone have any fun weekend plans?

@Rebelfirecpl Glad the PIO went well!  As long as you keep up with the heating pad and massaging it you should be good. The only time I was sore was when I was in a rush in the morning and didn’t massage it enough.

    @madasm0530. My RE prescribed Medrol
as well for this FET and my previous one. I take it for four or five days leading up to transfer. I also take an antibiotic.

@madasm0530 I'll be taking a steroid too! Not sure which one yet...I'm doing the autoimmune protocol this time so adding lots of seemingly random new meds...
  • J1006J1006 member
@knottienj I break out when on estrogen too. Totally normal.
  • @madasm0530 @sungirl39 I will also be taking some kind of steroid and blood thinner too for potential unexplained autoimmune issues but my doctor doesn't want me to start until I get a positive Beta.   I did the full MC panel and had a couple of positive ANA tests but everything else was normal so who knows.  I hate the thought of taking more meds especially while prego, but they say its safe.
  • @madasm0530 I'll be taking Medrol too.  Doing daily for 4 days just before my transfer.
  • ndz2018 im so so sorry you had another set back. I hope you have a fast recovery. Your car accident sounds awful :/

@Rebelfirecpl So glad pio is going well! I had a heck of a time with it in previous cycles! Crossing fingers that it keeps being easy!

As for me, I had my hysteroscopy on Friday which showed still some scar tissue, but he said he thinks he was able to cut all of it out, so here's hoping to a good cycle.
The down side, is ever since the surgery, I've had the worst cold ever!
Also, started d1 today and not supposed to start meds until Wednesday. Does that sounds weird to anyone? What cycle day are you girls starting?

  • Happy Monday ladies! The estrace is kicking in. I broke out in tears twice before 7am today. I've had some stress in my home lately and I've really been trying to combat it bc of hearing how bad stress can be for FET. I'm scheduled for acupuncture this week and next and then of course right before and after FER (I did it previously  in preparation of the ER)
This past weekend I had a session of Reiki massage, which was by accident bc I thought I purchased a regular massage. Has anyone had Reiki before?"

In a nut shell it is -  "Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy"

So no massage in the traditional sense but laying hands or hovering hands on the 7 Chakra zones in our body. I was skeptical but felt it. This woman's hands were warmer than normal and even when she was hovering I felt tingling on my skin. When she laid her hands on my lower belly I got slight cramps, especially on my left side which is where my tube is blocked. It was wild. She said that's the Reiki energy doing what it needs to do.

So now I'm wondering if I should  have another session or two before my FET in 2 weeks in addition to the acupuncture.

Thoughts? Anyone do this or know someone who has or am I just grabbing at holistic straws here here?

  • So I just got my ERA results back and it came back 24 hours pre-receptive meaning I need another whole day of progesterone before the transfer.  Getting even more nervous now.
  • @bpietronicco , so does that mean they'll just give you an extra day of progesterone this cycle and delay transfer by one day?

@knottienj Wow. I've never heard of that before! Seems very cool and like something to look into!

So, I ended up going in today to do my baseline be and us and they're having me start meds a couple days early to give my lining a couple extra days to grow. Not excited to be on these meds but happy yo get this show on the road!

  • Hi pals! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

    I need your input.

As you might remember, I'm on a lot of estrogen. I'm taking 3mg 3x/day, vaginally plus estrogen patches - 2 patches every other day. My lining was uncooperative, blah blah blah. Anyway. My question is if I should be asking them to up my progesterone dose. My clinic prescribes 200mg 3x/day for everyone and the nurse told me that would be my dose.

I don't know much about endocrinology, but I do know there is an ideal ratio. So should I be fighting for a higher progesterone dose? Any ideas? Thanks!
