  • @kimberlyshae Ugh, I get that feeling all too well! Sorry you're having to deal with that right now. Hopefully, your transfer is a good one and you'll have something to celebrate! <3

  • @Chrysalis7 So, how are you feeling? You're 3 days in now, huh? My butt was glued to the couch for those 3 days! Actually if I'm being honest it was glued to the couch for 5 days straight. I forgot about my pineapple juice until about 5-6 days in though. Took a test this morning and got a BFP so I'm hoping for good numbers on Monday! Nervous as I can be though!

@ChristenMA83 so sorry girl... was thinking of you all day. I hope you guys heal during the next month or so while you contemplate next steps, I’m always a message away and will be pulling for you.

@kimberlyshae welcome! Hope this is your month, this board has been pretty lucky so far. My brother and his wife got pregnant on their honeymoon (and they are 5 years older!).. IF does some serious mind tricks and turns otherwise happy situations into harsh reminders.

@becca07024411 woohoo!!! That’s a thick lining holy crap! Will be checking August board over be next couple weeks to stalk all our ladies over there :)
  • @leilee101 @lizy181 You guys are due for 2nd betas any day now, right?

  • @kristimh80 I have my second beta on Monday. How are you doing? Any fun plans this weekend?
  • @leilee101 @lizy181 Exciting!! Wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything :)

@lizy181 Doing pretty good, just tired a lot! We've got a busy Saturday. A couple in our church group decided to do a last minute wedding, then after is their little girls 1st bday. Otherwise, I need to clean house! lol How about you?

  • @ChristenMA83 - Sorry to hear the news. Good luck with the meeting with the RE.

@kimberlyshae - Welcome, and congrats on the BFP! Fingers crossed that your blood test is good too. I hear ya on taking your brother's news hard. Before I had my son, I remember feeling like I would be devastated if my sister got pregnant before I did. Let's hope that this is your month, and the cousins will be nearly the same age!
38 years old, one blocked tube and probably endometriosis

  • @ChristenMA83 - I am so sorry to hear your result.  You and DH need to spoil yourselves in the meantime.

@kimberlyshae - I understand what that is like to hear news of someone getting pregnant when you are struggling.  It is definitely hard.  Glad to hear you got a BFP though!  How am I feeling?  Well let's see - excited, scared, hopeful, doubtful, happy, sad, looking forward to beta, and dreading the beta.

@becca07024411 - Glad to hear you have a good lining!
  • @kristimh80 cleaning for me as well today but hoping to make it to the beach this afternoon!
  • Hey everyone, I needed to step away for a couple of days as news kept triggering me but wanted to stop by. I’m away at my cousin’s wedding this weekend. We almost cancelled but I decided that’s not me, so I picked myself up and we are here, a good distraction. I’m still crying and DH too but not as much, time helps. There’s a couple of newborns here and my brother’s wife will deliver in two-three weeks but I’m dealing!

@ChristenMA83 I am so so sorry for your news, I was really hoping for you. I pray you can start the healing process and get a plan forward. My heart goes out to you like it never honestly could have before this loss.

@leilee101 and @lizy181 congratulations on your first great beta numbers! I am happy for you to get to graduate!

@tinjp78 how are you doing dear? Thinking of you.

So AFM just waiting for a heavy bleed per my RE and debating whether to go straight into this last try or take some time. At end of year I need to switch to DH insurance so our family can stop driving out of state for every dr and dentist appointment! Trying to trust my RE who says he was surprised this one didn’t work but usually second one will and still an haunted by the whole ERA conversation and can’t totally shake wondering if it’s me and my receptive timing. But I have no basis for that. My brother who’s a dr, his wife an NP, and another nurse friend who’s in research and familiar with these new technologies all vote to trust RE and just try again same way.

Ive also contacted a local naturopath for a consult, they also do fertility acupuncture although I couldn’t do treatments day of FET due to our 4 hr travel time. Sorry for my long ramblings just leaning on you all a bit right now.
  • @Momifbysea ((hugs)) Good to see you back around! Try not to beat yourself up on this. Very few people get lucky their 1st round and from what I've read, odds are higher the 2nd go-around. But I remember, I was devastated as well in April when mine didn't work out. Only main different thing I did going into this one was I didn't stress over anything and told my husband that I didn't need to here his work stress either. I know probably sounds silly, but I remember my 1st FET month...I was excited but also super anxious and couldn't relax. I would also trust your RE, I doubt they'd go into it again if they had doubts or thought they needed to run more tests. I'd ask if they can do an endo scratch beforehand. Though maybe hard since you have to travel so far. My ERA provided one in a way and I believe it did help a little. I hope your wedding today goes well!! Eat all the cake you want...you deserve it! :)

  • *lurking*
My husband and I have been TTC 6 years and I actually just joined the bump. I've been lurking on this board and it's really helped me despite my not posting until now! You all are amazing!!!
    *TW*
My FET was 7/12, sadly was a CP, our 4th loss from 6 transfers (1 fresh, 5 FETs). Sorry I don't know how to hide text with that spoiler!
    *end TW*

@Momifbysea I actually wanted to post to send hugs. Like so many of us I know how hard this journey can be too. My RE is going to be doing an ERA with me next month. Is that not feasible for you because of distance? Truthfully I'm not expecting it to show anything, but am fine with it if there's a chance it might give some answers. Sending you positive thoughts that you can heal and develop a plan that works for you.

@Momifbysea this whole process is such an emotionally roller coaster, and the lows can get so low. This was my first cycle with acupuncture and I think it really made such a world of difference, even just helping me to feel relaxed in the weeks leading up. Have you talked to your RE about assisted hatching? Mine does AH for all FET and I have heard that helps implantation rates, just might be something to bring up. I’m glad you have one left, and hoping you can take all the time you need to heal before giving it another go. Time really helps. You WILL get there, I know that doesn’t make the right now any easier but please keep reminding yourself that. Thinking of you ❤️

@leigh001 so sorry for your recent loss. It never gets easier. Do you have any More frozen or will you have to cycle again? Best of luck!
  • @ChristenMA83 I'm sorry.  Give yourself the time you need. This process can take a toll on you physically and emotionally.   It can be healing to get back to normal life for a minute.  After my bad news in Jan, I took a trip and it reminded me that there is more to life than IF, which can all consuming.
    @Momifbysea What @kristimh80 said 100% .
@kimberlyshae Welcome.  I understand how hard it can be to struggle with IF and see others get pregnant so easily.  I am happy for them but wish I could share in that joy, be pregnant together, have my child grow up with theirs etc.  I have to stop and remind myself,  one day that will be me! (Hopefully this Wednesday :) FX)
  • @leilee101 Thanks for the well wishes! We are fortunate to have two more PGS normal frosties so will do another FET after a hysteroscopy, uterine biopsy and then an ERA cycle. Probably will be late Oct. The waiting!! These embryos are from our third IVF ER, the only one we've done PGS for after 3 losses in our last batch. The embryo this month was a 5AA, our best in the group so honestly I'm rather down. Just looking to stay positive enough to stick it out.

And congrats to you on such a great first beta!!! Fingers crossed you get a good double or more on Monday!
  • @Momifbysea Sadly so many people can relate to what you are feeling. I know leading up to IVF, I was so naive to the idea that IVF would be the fix all to getting pregnant and it would be about a week or two of shots and stress and that would be the bulk of it. Unfortunately, going through it you realize it is way more time and emotionally consuming than that and when it doesn't work out it is really hard to make sense of where to go next. It's okay to need to step away for a while when you need to to reset. Even though I was just lurking and not participating during my first transfer, after we found out it didn't work I had to take a couple days away from the bump and anything TTC related on the internet. As happy as I was for others getting good news, it really stung to be left out. I agree with what @kristimh80 said about advise on when you decide to move forward with a second transfer.
  • @ChristenMA83 I'm so sorry to hear the news. My heart goes out for you and YH. I also hope and pray for your quick physical and emotional healing. I'm here for you if you need someone to talk to, I'm a good listener. <3

@Momifbysea It's so sweet of you to check on me. I'm doing alright and also trying to pick myself up everyday. I'm glad that you were able to attend your cousin's wedding and had a good distraction.

@kimberlyshae Welcome and Happy PUPO! And I'm thrilled you had a BFP. Fx for a good first beta!

@leilee101 and @lizy181 GL on your second beta on Monday.

@suziev3 I'd be anxiously checking in here on Wednesday for you and a wonderful news

  • @kristimh80 I’ve been researching the endo scratch after what you wrote. Have read a lot of literature and while the data is inconclusive, it can’t hurt anything to do it so of course I want to. I’m nervous raising the issue with my RE after he seemed so annoyed with the time I brought up the ERA since they don’t do those. We need to stick with him for this last embryo due to insurance so I dont want it to be all awkward going into the second FET. But at the same time, it’s our last shot!

@becca07024411 thank you for your words. I started my heavy bleed yesterday but because it was the weekend didn’t call the clinic so am not sure if that will screw up my starting BCP to go right into this or if I’ll be okay.
@leigh001 I’m so sorry for your loss but glad you have a plan together! And glad your RE will do that testing if nothing else to give you peace of mind.

@tinjp78 glad you’re picking yourself up! I’m doing the same. We have to continue looking for the food and not give up!
  • @Momifbysea Just remember, you are the patient and it's his job. I'd email your nurse and ask if it's an option. My RE doesn't do scratches but does ERA's...so you never know.

  • @Momifbysea - I am so glad that you went to your cousin's wedding even though you were tempted not to.
Sorry to hear there were some triggers at the wedding though. :(  Of course I never like to hear that someone
is crying, but it is so healthy and part of the process so cry it out!  I am happy to hear that you are going to consult with a naturopath.  That sounds like a great step.  We are here for you so please vent all you need to!

@leigh001 - I am so sorry to hear about your CP and your other losses.  Hopefully that ERA is the information you need to make the next one a success!
  • @suziev3 Ugh, I feel you on that rant! My husband's family use to ask all the time. That was the only good reason for telling them we were doing IVF. Knowing that, they stopped asking...besides asking "when's the next transfer"? We ignored the question this last time because we didn't want to tell anyone so would be less stressful.

  • Thank you all for the outpouring of support over the last few days.  My mom came up for the weekend and DH's sinus surgery was Thursday.  He's doing well and my mom and I were very productive and cleaned out our garage.  We're dealing with the failed transfer really well...we meet with the RE on the 9th to discuss next steps.  We're taking a self-imposed break, losing weight, taking a small trip and building up the savings to pay for a second retrieval in November.  We're going to ask the RE about fertilizing half of the next batch with donor sperm and half with DH's, then do PGS testing with hopes that we'll get some normals out of DH's half, but with a fall back if that doesn't work (fingers crossed).  Not that the donor sperm is a guarantee, but it gives us two approaches at once and we don't have to feel like we're giving up on DH.

I'm looking forward to a little time off from IF.  A facebook memory from last year made me realized we haven't done any hiking this year which is usually how we spend our summers.  I've been so exhausted from this whirlwind I haven't had time to enjoy anything else.

Question for those of you that have had a failed transfer in the past, how long after you stopped meds did AF show up?  I can feel myself crashing off the hormones, but so far not so much as a hint of spotting.

@becca07024411 yay for a good lining and scheduled transfer!  Fingers crossed for you.

    @momifbysea ((hugs)) to you.

And again congrats to all the great results this month!!  I'll be stalking you all as you move on.

  • Good luck to everyone today on their betas!! Praying for some strong numbers.
And I can’t stand it when people ask. First it’s when are you going to get married? Then when will you have kids? And believe it or not but then you do have a kid and they’re like when are you having a second? Like please stop.
  • Thank you @kristimh80! Good luck to @kimberlyshae and @leilee101!

I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend!

Just had my bloodwork done and now to wait.
  • @ChristenMA83 it was about 5-6 days after stopping meds until CD1 started for me. It sounds like you have a good plan moving forward. I really do think it help to always be one or two steps ahead on the game plan so when something like this happens, you are already mentally thinking about what's next and how to move on instead of just sitting in the present situation. I get that may not be for everyone, but I have found it to really help me, especially with the last failed transfer.
  • Good luck to everyone on your bets today!

I'm am not really a cryer, but I started to get a little teary eyed Saturday getting set up for the first PIO.  Not that the shot hurts or bothers me, but it just really took me back to April and all the emotions surrounding it. I cant really explain it.  I really do believe this will work out and happen at some point, even if it is not this round, but at the same time really cant imagine it. Like I can conceptualize it ever being the cycle that works. Has anyone else ever felt this way.
  • @becca07024411 I was the same way with my first PIO. I wasn't anticipating it being painful but was just emotional. I, on the other hand, am definitely a crier!

  • @ChristenMA83 Good to hear you had a great productive weekend with your mom! Have a plan makes a world of difference! I know as soon as we talked to my RE after my failed cycle, just knowing I had a plan going forward made me a lot more hopeful. I like your idea of taking a break, we did one last summer after numerous things not going right and it was one of the best decisions. I remember coming back to treatments refreshed and had a better mindset. As for AF after my failed cycle, it came 4 days after I stopped my meds. Please keep in touch...I look forward to seeing the good things that happens this year for you :)

@becca7024411 Awe try your best not to dwell on the past if you can! I was emotional mess back in April as well after it all. But I went into this transfer making myself not even think about it and staying positive. Like in April, I had no confidence that it did work or that it was going to and proved myself right. This time, I even told my DH that I didn't wanna hear about any of his stresses and chose to live in bliss. Stress can play such a big part overall, so if there's anyway to avoid it...try to. FX that this cycle will surprise you <3

  • @leilee101 yeah, I never really got the bumps either and just a couple tiny bruises here and there. I didn't ever massage it or warm it up or anything and honestly never even really felt the needle go in AT ALL.  The weird thing was about a week after stopping it did get super itchy with some welps for about a week, but then went away.  Maybe I am in the minority, but I think they are way less uncomfortable than the daily lupron shots I was having to do in my stomach last ER. I think it may be the fact that they gave me 25 gauge needles, only downside it is takes foreverrrrr to inject it all out if the tiny needle.
  • @leilee101 I did! I lurked there for awhile, then finally decided to join in. There's a lot you'll probably recognize form these threads :)
