Re: July Symptoms

  • My postpartum cramps went away after day 3
or 4, and suddenly today they’re back?? Except they feel kind of different, and it’s crampy in my back and lower stomach. Also feeling twitching in my tummy. It feels like early baby kicks - wtf. Just organs shifting back into place i’m Guessing.

  • At 40w+1 today - I had a contraction at the till at Jugo Juice and started crying..... my emotions are going haywire!

  • @zande2016 I had lots of phantom baby kicks postpartum with DS, but not this time. Very weird!

@canucklehead123 Interesting litmus paper test? I have an appointment tomorrow morning at 8 so I figured I can bring it up then if no more obvious symptoms show up before then.
  • I don’t totally trust the litmus paper test. My water broke on its own while I was being induced and I was pretty positive right away, but the nurse didn’t believe me. She did the test and still wasn’t convinced, she said only some of it turned blue so I probably just had discharge. Then the midwife checked my cervix and could feel it had broken, and then the floodgates opened.
  • @zande2016 +1 to the phantom baby kicks!! I felt them this morning for the first time and I am nearly one month PP. I remember getting them with my son but I thought they came later than this. I have also had my cramps shift more towards my back after going without cramps for a couple of weeks now. Anyone else having crazy PP headaches? Ugh I feel like my head hurts every day towards mid-late afternoon.
  • Glad I’m not alone on the phantom kicks and random cramps. It creeped me out a little!
  • how can i go hours without being hungry then be suddenly starving?  shouldn't there be a gradual build up?  It's cool though - he's taking up my entire body so 1 slice of pizza and I'm full.

  • @kbernal2021 +1 for headaches, I think for me some of it is caffeine withdrawal because I never find the time to actually finish the cup(s) of coffee I make in the morning.

My back has been so sore too, sometimes to the point of radiating to my hips and thighs. I’m veryyy happy to have ibuprofen back in my life. I can’t wait to start getting more active and getting my core back, that always helps my back pain.
  • @zande2016 they also take your fluid to look under a microscope - well My docs did both times. I think both together are pretty definitive.

  • @canucklehead123 ah they didn’t do that for me but that makes sense.

I can now SEE my stomach twitching from the outside. I think there’s an alien in there.
  • @smashjam omg Aug 9th. I want a spontaneous labor but I also selfishly want a July baby. They scheduled my non stress test and ultrasound for the 31st... so if Im still pregnant she will deff be an Aug babe but I cant imagine going another week +

@nimmle +1 for the poop cramps haha so annoying! i keep thinking “oh maybe this is the start of something” bc of all the pressure... nope. and then sometimes ill feel like i need to go, sit down and nothing. frustrating!
  • @kbernal2021 I’m also getting the crazy headaches most days. I just chug water and hope for the best. Sometimes I’ll take an ibuprofen if that doesn’t work.
No phantom baby kicks over here (yet?)
  • @SmashJam you are stronger than me to attempt to wait it out to 42 weeks! At my appointment yesterday, we went ahead and scheduled an induction for Aug 2 when I’ll be 40+6. I hesitated and second guessed it once we were home, as the date was largely determined by the dates my preferred doctor would be on call, but since baby is already super low and therefore super painful, and I’m barely 1cm dilated, I’m telling myself that waiting a few extra days probably won’t be worth it. Fun decisions.

Went to the doctor this morning and this is the first time I lost weight my entire pregnancy. I read there's a correlation between weight leveling off or going down in the week before labor. Anyone have that experience?

Also I have my induction tentatively scheduled for the 5th, but the hospital needs to call me to finalize everything. May consider asking who is on call around the week 41 date to get a preferred doctor like @summermama18.

@SmashJam @canucklehead123 No luck on the slow leak. Doc confirmed it's just discharge.
  • @nimmle I didnt lose weight but my weight gain was down the last appointment I had before I went into labor. Appointment was on a Friday and I went into labor that Wednesday.
  • @nimmle I either maintained or lost weight in the last weeks before labor, with DS I gained before labor but I had a lot more swelling with him.
  • @nimmle I lost 2 pounds at my 36 week appointment and have maintained that since, they said it's normal at this point as I'm not able to eat much with baby taking up so much space.

I'm very impatiently waiting for LO to arrive! My 40 week appointment is Friday and the doctor will schedule an US, NST and induction during the appointment if baby doesn't figure things out by then. She did assure me that I won't have to wait until 42 weeks this time which makes me feel a little better! Apparently my body just doesn't know how to go into labor
  • @nimmle I’ve heard that is common!  Although, I have not been experiencing that... lol.

  • @nimmle I lost weight in the weeks before delivery with both pregnancies, but never went into labor. I haven't hit that point yet with this one, lol.

Ladies, I dont post on here often, but I love to see what's going on with everyone. Just wanted to share, I've been in early labor since 1am and contractions getting more intense and closer together all day. I finally called the dr when they were 10 min apart and by the time I got there, they were 5 min apart, however I havent dilated st any of my appointments past 1 cm, I'm 40w3d and since I'm not dilated, they sent me back home and said to keep waiting. They will schedule an induction for next week. I really do not think I can handle these painful contractions for a week. I'm like super emotional about it. I feel like because my labor isnt textbook, it obviously isnt real and its stressing me and DH out. Wasting his vacation days to be sent home. Someone please give some advice....:'(
  • @stephfaye0908 hang in there, it sounds like you’re on your way - remember that dilation doesn’t happen on a schedule - you could go from 1 to 10 very quickly.

@nimmle that happened to me as well. I lost weight the last 10 days before i delivered.
  • @summermama18 I had the same guilt with scheduling my induction. It turned out best though - I think I was in pain and getting horrible headaches to push me to have him before his cord became an issue.

@stephfaye0908 you've got this! That baby will be out before you know it.
  • @stephfaye0908 i feel ya girl. ive been having contractions since last night that were painful, went in and only 2cm and got sent home- even tho i waited and went in according to their “contraction guideline” i guess each labor is different.  i find doing something during the contraction helps like arm raises haha i know it sounds ridiculous but ive made it into a game to pass the time.  trying to see how many arm raises i can do during each contraction. my husband thinks im nuts but it gets my mind off it.
  • every time I think my PP bleeding is done
  • @moguippy same here! I've had a little bit showing up randomly in the last 2 days. Annoying!
  • Major lightning boob last night. I don’t know why it happens after nursing.
  • @wildtot is it in the nipple or deeper in the breast? I’ve been having vasoplasm (idk if I spelled that right) in one of my nipples and it feels like lightening.
  • @zande2016 it’s deeper into the breast and it eventually goes away.
  • Last night I was in the bathroom for a solid 30 minutes with major stomach wonk. It was touch and go for a minute on whether or not it was gonna come out of both ends but thankfully only picked the end planted on the toilet. I was sure I was clearing out and labor would start but here I am, on my due date, no labor.

Soooo so exhausted today. Waking up every hour with hip pain and dealing with insane dreams of going into labor is having its toll. I think I'll take some bendryl tonight to try and get a decent night or two in before the LO arrives.
  • Forgot to mention this yesterday but I've mentioned a few times that I've been having insane pain when lo moves sometimes, like I have to stop and breathe through it. The midwife yesterday confirmed it movement during contractions! Mystery solved.

@SmashJam OMG I'm totally feeling that too. So awful, especially when I'm sitting down and having conversations with people. I end up stopping talking and going into an extreme focus and people freak out like I'm going to have the baby at that moment. lol
  • How can I know if I'm getting my period?? It's been a couple of days of very light bleeding and I just have no idea of it's still pp or period. Guessing even with breastfeeeding you can still get it , right? I'll be 4wweks pp on Monday
  • @kissableviv i thought i was starting it but it was just weird pp bleeding. Dr said it can come and go for 4-6 wks. My periods a pretty painful in general and i would of expected to fill a pad with actual red blood more frequently and with more of a period pattern. None of that has happened. I didn’t get my period with DS until i stopped pumping at 5 months. I’m hoping it stays away again but yes some women unfortunately can still get them while BFing.
  • @kissableviv I think any bleeding before 6 weeks is still considered pp bleeding but I could be wrong. I didn’t get my period until 6 months with DS, I think introducing solids brought it on.
  • @kissableviv my midwife says any bleeding before 6 weeks is considered PP bleeding but she said you can ovulate during that time as well so..... Who the heck knows lol With my DS I didn’t get my period back until 17 months PP. I was the happiest person on earth and then BOOM. Period. Ugh it sucked lol I’m hoping I get that lucky again lol

  • My period came back around 9 months pp last time, I’m surprised it held out that long though because my son started sleeping through
The night around 4 months. I am hoping it stays away as long or longer this time!

Anyone else continuing to get heartburn after delivering? I remember it continued for a little bit with my first, but I’m almost 2 weeks pp and still getting it almost daily! Wtf! Maybe I’m just eating too much junk food...
