@gingerbride26 Ugh I feel you! I am so sick of side sleeping because it's murder on my pelvis/hips. All the pillows in the world can't seem to help it. During the day I totally feel fine, but in the middle of the night when I have to get up to pee there is SOOOO much pain. I'm considering sleeping in our glider just so I can have even hip support.
@nimmle yeeessss between the SPD and the pulled/sprained groin I have to do this awkward knees together at all times thing to roll over or get out of bed - I'd like to say "like a mermaid" but it most def is more "like a sea cow". I tried sleeping in the new recliner last week but it wasn't better too much pressure on the swollen vag and even fully reclined, gravity was doing too much to my cervix. So many women I know swear by the recliner too though!
@gingerbride26 and @nimmle SAME SYMPTOMS HERE! I feel like a beached whale that washes up on shore when I have to go pee in the middle of the night. Pelvic pain is unbearable. We must be close, the three of us in this boat is too weird. Please get some rest tonight! ❤️
@erica-lynne selfishly I hope it's not TOO soon because I really want to make it to my section on Tuesday...but labor dust on both of you for sure! I have my final checkup tomorrow so I'll let you know if all this pain is causing progress...they did say if i was looking more like active labor they'd move up my date but I don't like the dr's on call this weekend lol so I'd rather wait for the one I picked on Tues! I think with DD i had bloody show by now but still went to 41... uteruses are such teases
I'm legit in the same boat...as gross as it is I'm about to order some depends and just pee lol that way I stop getting up in the middle of the night. Moving is torture, especially once you find a half comfortable position.
Postpartum mamas - anyone experience minimal bleeding early on (with the exception of immediately after delivery) but then being to bleed more later? I’m two weeks out and i just started bleeding more than i have since leaving the hospital. No pain associated to the bleeding so i can’t say it’s a period since i get bad cramps. It doesn’t smell like regular period blood (yes i smell it). So i think it’s still pp bleeding. Maybe I’m over doing it? I don’t recall it being like this after DS. I bled for weeks with him.
@wildtot I am 3 weeks out and my bleeding has slowed wayyyy down. I didnt bleed much right after anyway and remember with my son it was the same as I'm experiencing now. But my dr did warn me the flow could fluctuate and I shouldn't expect a cycle for at least the first 4-5 weeks post partum. He said reasons for concern would be if the bleeding picked up to a point where I was soaking a pad in an hour or less, or passing egg size clots. I would watch the bleeding and if you feel like it's not slowing down or tapering off then I would call and just check in with your dr.
@kbernal2021 I’ve been using liners for a good week and a half and i haven’t even filled one of those. Now i actually having to use a pad because i can feel it coming down. No clots for over a week so far so that’s good. The coloring has changed back and forth between red, yellowish/Orange, pink, and brown. I have an appointment next week so I’ll ask her then.
@wildtot my midwife told me that bleeding may slow down and then a week or two after delivery when the wound/scab? on the uterus starts to fall away bleeding can temporarily pick back up. I was out of it when she told me this so I could be getting it wrong but she definitely say something about the wound starting to heal causing a temporary increase. My bleeding was heavy the first two days and a super light trickle the past 3 days. Sometimes I put a fresh pad on and it takes hours to get any blood on it at all.
Ok Dr Google wasn’t too bad when i looked it up. It sounds like it’s pretty common for bleeding to pick up around two weeks because the placenta scabbing is coming off (something like that). So I’ll just keep an eye on it. I seriously thought i got lucky with minimal bleeding. Wishful thinking...
@zande2016 oh man could I use a BF thread today >_< told my husband i was at defcon 5 and was going to light something on fire - his response was "just not our house please"

Ah I somewhat remembered correctly what she told me. I knew it was something about a scab haha.
I don't understand why I am getting kicked in the ribs and back again after a hiatus of like 3 weeks. I feed you, keep you warm and just want you to come out and THIS is how you repay me right now with 4 days left to go?!
@wildtot my bleeding was waayy lighter this time than it was with DS, within a week I wasn’t even spotting. Mine picked up today too at almost 2 weeks pp, had a minor freakout after I passed a tiny clot but Dr. Google said it was normal lol. This is all new for me, my whole pp period was like a murder scene with DS.
I have not passed a clot since the early days and bleeding has stopped for the past 3 days, occasionally I'll get a few drops but overall it has not been concerning. Even before I was not soaking a pad in an hour, although I did have a lot of blood and fluids the first 3-4 days!
@acunamatada i was expecting the murder scene too lol well even through bleeding picked up a bit i haven’t soaked a pad all day so I’ll take it as normal.
been up all night with serious heartburn, indigestion and just general nauseous feeling. i thought i was in my third trimester not my first LOL been so long since i felt this!
@babygagnon2018 Heartburn has been brutal for me too, especially at night. In fact I just generally feel like sh*t every night to the point where I think it might be indicative of impending labor... but then I wake up feeling oddly refreshed. I get through my day but then start to feel like poo again in the evening... rinse & repeat.
+1 for every night being a struggle and crazy heartburn. Exact same roller coaster. I've been using it as an excuse to cuddle DD in front of a musical (last night was Sound of Music) then lay in bed talking to DH or watching Nailed It 2 before an early bed. I bought sleep masks and they've been helping a ton during that initial falling asleep period while he's still playing a game - I just take it off after first pee break after he turns out the lights. They came with ear plugs but they don't really help and he hasn't tried the breathe right strips I bought him so he still chainsaws in the night and I have to kick him
ugh went back to sleep for an hour, woke up and the indigestion is still here. today was supposed to be my last day at work but i said screw it ans started my leave early... couldnt see driving 45 minutes to sit around for a few hours and be useless on this (whats going to be) beautiful 80+ degree day. and starting sunday through the next week is supposed to rain. get that sun in now!
@babygagnon2018 don't blame you - if I was still driving into the office (esp 45 min!!) I would say screw it too. I'm working on my final to-do's that's i've been procrastinating on for weeks lol That sucks that the indigestion is carrying over to the morning I swear by the alka seltzer chews this pregnancy.
I walked around Target for 2 hours yesterday to be in the AC and definitely overdid it. My bleeding picked up again an hour later and is still stronger today. Nothing matching hospital criteria, but I definitely don't like it!
It occurs to me that I have never worked this long with my pregnancies, both times I have been done at 38 weeks and largely sat around. Even last time I took DS to daycare often because I still had to pay to keep the spot, so I could get a lot done.
My vagina is in so much pain. The area above my clitoris is tender to the touch, and every time the baby moves the lightning crotch is so bad. It's not every day but I guess it must be the days he's super low. Walking hurts and I am limp waddling. Ugh this might be a super challenging week.
@smashjam I was also having a similar pain! I actually got it again after I delivered, thinking it was all the pressure and extra blood pumping during pregnancy? It went away after a week.

I have it post birth too- but LO ended up having the shoulder dystonia (?) thing and i think things got extra “beat up”
anyone post birth having frequent BM? . I’m not taking a softener but I just keep going. Sucks because I think I tore between the rectum and vaginal opening and there is 7-8 stitches. Just getting frustrated trying to keep clean and worried about infection.
@babygagnon2018 we have no induction date. I so badly want to go on my own that I'll push it to Aug 9, the day I am 42 weeks, if baby and I look good. But if I'm still in a lot of pain like, every day, which I have never experienced in other pregnancies, then maybe I'll cave. Today my pubic bone and area directly above it started hurting before I even got in the car at 8am to take DS to playgroup. Ugh!
Playing a new game of swamp crotch or slow amniotic leak. I have zero clue but things are quite a bit more wet down there than before, but still not obvious. I have resorted to sitting on a towel now. I think I'll lay down for a bit and see if something happens when I stand up.
I hear you @nimmle! I’ve gone to L&D twice now because I couldn’t decide... lol!! Last time I was there the doc said if it was amniotic fluid, it would be like a leaky tap....but then she said “but seriously just come in every time.” They just do a little litmus paper test - super quick but involves a speculum exam (with not much lube....bleck).
