Symptoms - Month of July

Starting a new thread since the last one is huge and dated June.

I've started getting heartburn and hate it! I had it constantly for years and had a major surgery to correct it, so it coming back is super annoying.

I'm also getting weepy/emotional. I am nesting and just want to get things ready for baby but I can't yet. I want to set up the nursery but I registered for the big stuff and since we are team green I am thinking people might go in together to get the big things, so I want to wait for that. From there I decided to look up packing the hospital bags and I'll probably get most of what goes in there at the shower too, so I am stuck. I was on my phone/laptop/iPad all night looking up videos and getting ideas, only to not be able to do anything for a while and it made me all pouty. Such a stupid thing to get weepy over, but I just couldn't help it.

  • @middleschoolmommy I have increased discharge too. Not at the point of a liner yet, but I don't think that point is that far away.

  • @lifesabeach85 Yes!  I wake up with a bloody nose every day and anytime I blow my nose it's guaranteed to be bloody all over again.

I remember this from last time and it wasn't one of my favorite parts of pregnancy.  It's always fun not realizing you have dried blood smeared on your face.

  • I’ve had so much discharge this pregnancy that I feel like I’m losing chunks of my mucus plug every morning. And I’m ravenously hungry. Ugh. Trying not to gain too much weight while being so hungry is not easy!
  • Holy bloody nose! Anyone else experience these? I got one this morning that will NOT stop. It’s been like 30 minutes! I’m using it at my excuse to work from home today.
  • Everytime I blow my nose it's bloody but no full on bloody nose yet. My biggest change as of recently is that I am exhausted! I was feeling great and full of energy but now it's like I am back in trimester one.

Also I have no appetite. Everything sounds gross to eat so I have to just pick something and get it down. I should probably be greatful I don't want to eat the world but it really sucks having to eat when you don't want anything.
  • New symptom I don’t remember with my previous pregnancies is numbness in the middle of my right thigh. Very weird feeling. Continuing with irritability and mood swings.
  • @ftm_jen Me too...the exhaustion has come back in full force already. :(

Every. single. day. this week I've woken up at 5am to the baby throwing a party in my belly. I love feeling her move, but does it have to be at 5am?

  • My freaking back is killing me! I'm over it. I'm sure it's from picking up ds, and doing all the things I normally do that I didn't do before ds. I'm just tired of it hurting. Sitting, standing, it doesn't matter.

Hello acid reflux! I did not miss you....

At least baby girl is moving around a lot more, makes it more bearable

Also a lot of discharge over here. Sometimes I need to check myself in the bathroom just to make sure everything is okay.
  • @bkosy same here with the discharge. I’m always in the bathroom like what’s going on down there.
  • +1 for the back pain! Its miserable and constant no matter what position I'm in which just makes me cranky. Almost wondering if it is going to be my body's version of Braxton Hicks this time around. Today pain was radiating from my back around my hip on one side. Had this a few days ago as well. Going to ask my doctor tomorrow at my appointment.

@bkosy, @tessiesmom26, and @middleschoolmommy - another +1 for acid reflux here. It is kicking my ass overnights. Trying to sleep sitting up to help it a little bit (but I am writing this at 3:20am so that should give you a sense of how that's going lol) . I have barely slept at all because of it since last Wednesday. Add to that the lovely viral infection I have right now and I am a hot mess. Went to the doctor today and got some Zantac 150 - Pharmacist said I can take 1 day. Praying it will help but no real results tonight on the first dose. Anywho feeling a little pathetic and sorry for myself right now. Good thing I love this little dude so much already because pregnancy is hard!
  • @lifesabeach85 Right? I don't know if you have the same, but right after I eat (pretty immediately) I'm satisfied. There's no way the food hits my stomach that fast. LOL maybe it's just a mental thing...

@rmg85 I hope you feel better soon and that the Zantac helps! I try to keep in mind that the acid reflux goes away as soon as the baby is born and that makes it a little more bearable.

I am a FTM but most of what I have heard is it does go away when baby comes so just have to make it through the next 16 weeks. Thanks for the encouragement! I did manage to get some more sleep last night and am going to see how work goes today
  • Every night for the past 2-3 weeks I keep waking up at about 1-2AM to go to the bathroom and than lay in bed for about an hour struggling to fall back asleep.  It's soooo annyoing.  It's like my brain all decides at 2AM is a good time to start worrying/focusing on the bad.

  • +1 for acid reflux, intense hunger, crazy emotional, and increased discharge.

I am a full-on crybaby, but if one more person says, "You know you're just emotional because your pregnant", they are very likely to get punched in the throat!

I did have some pretty intense cramps over the weekend.  So much so that I stayed home from work yesterday.  They feel like intense menstrual cramps, but fortunately, I wasn't bleeding.  I came into the office today, but I'm feeling like I should have stayed home.  I have an interview for another position in our company that will more than double my salary.  We could REALLY use the increase.  But honestly, I just want to stay home and be a mom to my bundle of joy.  Is anyone else struggling with having to go back to work after you have the baby?  None of my kids were in daycare, so this is tougher than I thought it would be.

  • @MojieJo I have been having gastric issues too. I hadn't gone for almost a week and the past two days I haven't been able to stop going. It sucks because I am trying to keep hydrated as well, but it's tough when you can't stop going.

Today I got really uncomfortable out of nowhere. My back is hurting and I can't seem to get comfortable no matter if I sit or stand. Thankfully I am done for the day at work so I am going to go home and try to lay down and hope that helps. Pregnancy is so weird.

  • @MojieJo I feel you on the ass pimple! Lmao! All the sudden my face is breaking out, but it’s been so dang hot and sweaty here, I’m sure it’s that mixed with the hormones.
    • Heartburn like a mother (which in my experience, does subside as soon as the baby is out. So weird.)
    • Moody AF. Not really weepy, but just pissy and ready to snap at every little thing. I can feel the hormones starting to cloud my judgement more and more every day.
    • I've also started feeling muscle soreness at the very tops of my inner thighs, almost like I worked out. I don't know if this is from stretching or what. Anyone else experiencing this? I never had it with DD.
    • My nails are freaking weak. I talked to my MW about it and she gave me some different prenatal samples to try out. Is anyone using a good OTC one they recommend?
  • I was under the impression that as your uterus rises, it compresses the upper part of your digestive tract, like the stomach, which makes reflux/hb worse, and when the baby comes out, and the uterus goes back down and shrinks, that's no longer a problem. Is that wrong? Maybe I made that up.

  • @lifesabeach85 that sounds right to me. also, some pregnancy hormone relaxes ligaments for carrying and birthing the baby, with the lovely side effect of also relaxing the flap at the end of the esophagus that keeps the acid/food in the stomach, compounding the issue. once baby and placenta is out, those issues should resolve.
  • @lurvleybunchococonuts @rosebud1230 same here! Some nights I get up even not having to pee and just lay there. Amazon prime day got a lot of my time from 1145-230ish last night. I gave up being bored and tired and ended up with some good items at least
  • To all the heartburn mamas, it should go away almost immediately after giving birth. I spent my last trimester on tums and nexium daily with my last two because the heartburn was so terrible. It hasn’t hit me yet, but I know it is coming. But the good thing is it is gone almost as soon as baby is out.

All of a sudden, the very top of my bellybutton is excruciatingly tender if I touch it or sit up too quickly.  It doesn't feel like I've developed a hernia or anything and it looks the same as it did yesterday (turned a little bit inside out but nothing major).

Strangely, if I pull up on my bellybutton, there's no pain in the skin or the muscle under where it hurt before.  It only hurts when it's in a relaxed position.

WTF is happening?  This didn't happen with my last pregnancy, even though my bellybutton turned inside out and stretched like crazy, and it's really painful.

Baby boy was kicking me in the bellybutton yesterday, so maybe that's why?

I see my OB on Thursday, so I can ask him then if it's still an issue, but I'm a little concerned.  Hopefully this is just a side effect of uterine pressure, stretched skin and muscles or something else that's temporary and not a big deal.

  • Why am I gassy; all - the - time?
  • @lurvleybunchococonuts same sleep issues here. I'll get up to pee and then my brain starts going a million miles an hour. Lately it's been about work since school is starting in about a month. I started using earbuds to listen to an audio book so I'm not just thinking/stressing about things.

  • - exhaustion
    - fullness after eating to the point I don't feel hungry for 4+ hours but have to eat or my blood sugar tanks
    - so much sciatic pain. yesterday i almost fell multiple times due to the sharp pain running down my leg. thankfully it's been better today
    - braxton hicks anytime I do much of anything... bad deal when I have a crap ton of stuff to go through before the move
    - feeling bigger movements which I love. I wish this baby would move head down. he/she keeps going from transverse to what I'm pretty sure is breech. baby is having quite the party tonight.

  • @MojieJo A similar thing happened to me around the time that my bump really started growing. It wasn't excruciating but it seemed a bit similar to what you were describing. It was tender behind my belly button and it was really odd. It went away in a couple days I think. I never asked my OB, but I figured it was from stretching skin and whatnot. I googled it too and it seemed like a common symptom. I hope your pain goes away soon!

@lurvleybunchococonuts I've been waking up a lot too. I actually started diffusing lavender at bed time and it helps me sleep much better. I feel like such a hippy saying that. I'm not hugely into oils, but my sister is and has convinced me to try a few. She's sending me some stuff to hopefully help with my eczema too. Anyways, not sure if that's something you'd ever consider, but I really do think it helps me get better sleep.

  • @offtoneverland Thanks!  I figured it's probably nothing to worry about, but it came on so suddenly and so intensely that it was worrying.  It still hurts today, but it's a little less tender.

I put an ice pack on it for 10 minutes last night and that seemed to help somewhat.
