I’m so jealous of everyone with cravings. I had to unfollow all the food accounts I follow on insta because even the sight of food makes me gag or puke . The only thing I’ve been able to eat and keep down since Saturday is bagels and water. I literally have myself on a diet of 1/2 bagel every 2 hours whether I feel hungry or not. I’m a STM and it wasn’t this bad last time.
I am pretty much eating normally right now. I remember last pregnancy at 6 weeks exactly, I could not be in the same room as chicken. That lasted until around 14 weeks. I wonder if that will happen again.
For now this pregnancy is going the same as my last one in that all food sounds gross, but I force myself to have toast with sunflower seed butter every couple hours anyway. Raw onions (cooked is fine) and raw tomatoes (but tomato sauce is fine) are absolute NO's for me right now. Which makes me sad, because I love blt's in the summer when the tomatoes are amazing.
My first pregnancy was full of very specific sweet cravings & an aversion to white rice (which I normally love) & Chinese Food.
This time, when I'm not nauseated, I want to eat everything, but especially spicy food. I've been putting Red Hot on everything & made a big batch of spicy chili this week. I still want sweets too.
I only want sourdough toast, plain cheerios, orange juice, apples, and grilled cheese. I haven't had coffee in weeks which is very unusual for me. I can't stand any kind of meat! I make dinner for my family and then I can't eat it. I'm having major food issues.
With my first I was so nauseous that I could only stomach plan carbs - muffins, tortilla chips, toast - for months and I couldn’t eat meat of any kind. This time around total opposite! I can’t get enough fresh fruit and veg and I’m starving all the time.

Girl this was me last pregnancy so I totally feel you!!! I couldn’t get on Facebook, watch commercials, go to a grocery store, look at signs on the fast food restaurant window, etc. anytime I had to potential to see or hear about food my stomach would turn. My husband forced me to eat plain things and I cried during it. So dramatic I’m aware!! I’m praying it doesn’t happen again. But I totally know how you feel and for me at least it did get better over time.
@beachmama2019 if you can do shakes and need protein, have you tried Premier Protein shakes? I really like the chocolate, but they're all pretty good and they all have 30g of protein and low carbs and fat. I used to count my macros and supplemented my protein a lot with these. I highly recommend them!
Thank you for the recommendation! I'll have to try these!
@sejica No! I just discovered a tomato aversion this week (like picked the mild salsa out of my Chipotle). I’ve also been growing tomato plants in the backyard this summer. I didn’t even put it together until your post. Damn. Waste of a plant now. And I was so looking forward to fresh sandwiches.
I’m never a sweets eater in the last 3 days I’ve had 3 ice creams and a piece of cake. I’m not sure what this means other than that I’m definitely pregnant.
I could murder a baked potato right now. But that just might be cause i was trying to figure out what to have with dinner tonight.
Last time i had an aversion to eggs which sucked cause it was one of the few things i was allowed to eat. I had like 2 cravings the whole pregnancy, hummus and a See's Candy Bordeaux bar. I'm hoping to not be on super diet restrictions this time. One of the things i remember most from my last pregnancy was being absolutely starving all the time and not being able to eat.

We have really pretty cucumbers from my garden. Usually I get tired of them because they grow a little too well. Last night I wanted them with bagel and cream cheese. My husband thought it was really weird. I told him to get used to it!!

Popcorn. Usually I’m an evening sweets type person, but lately I’ve been craving popcorn. I’ve had it with truffle oil and Parmesan and last night with hot sauce on it. I have a great caramel corn recipe but I just want the savory flavors.

I don't know if it's necessarily a craving, but I may have just downed Chips & Salsa followed by Spicy Hot Cheese Crunchies & then Cayenne Dark Chocolate Fudge. So far this pregnancy has had me chowing on spicy foods, which I normally love, but seem to taste even better lately.
@christac1010 as a fellow gardener, I feel your pain. In fact, since dd just turned 1 in June, I only planted 1 basil, 1 mint, and 1 cherry tomato plant, so as to keep my garden active, but manageable (I normally plant about 20 sq ft). I am just looking at my plants with loathing right now. I'm thinking about making tomato basil jam for preserving though.
I don’t feel like eating anything this week. Nothing sounds good and meat smells awful now. So since nothing sounds good I’ve still been able to eat pretty healthy when I do eat.
Pizza...I want all the pizza! and I have been craving sushi, i might have to go get some california rolls and hope that satisfies my craving for spicy tuna rolls. and I have been dying for a spongebob ice cream thing like you get from the ice cream truck! I usually put lemon and lime in my water, but lately I cant bring myself to drink it that way
@catlady2015 I could live off bread and cheese when I'm not pregnant... but it's just ridiculous when I am. All I wanted was mozzarella sticks when I was pregnant with dd. This morning I watched Coco with dd and now I want Mexican food...
I’ve been all about this jar of pickles I picked up the other day. All that salty goodness, yum. Meanwhile, the chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate covered banana chips, and a whole bunch of other chocolaty temptations around the house have lost all appeal.
So....would now not be the best time to brag and say I have a crock pot full of pinto beans and a roaster full of Posole? And DH is going to be making green chili chicken enchiladas with the left over beans tomorrow. And chili dogs with his home made red chili are also on the menu. And he may or may not make salsa with the tomatoes and jalapeños from the garden. I’d like to say that these are pregnancy cravings but those are all pretty much our normal go-to foods.
I made tuna melts for lunch and I hadn't wanted a tuna melt in maybe 8 years because I married a vegetarian and worry about the smell bothering him. Today, though, it was all I could think about and I was so happy to find the one lonely can in the back of the pantry!
I'm eating a pickle at midnight y'all. I opened the jar, smelled it, and then had to stop myself because I had a strong impulse to drink the juice. I'm slightly horrified. But also wondering why it'd be so bad to drink the juice...
I have yogurt and Cheerios to snack on at work before and after lunch. I had some Cheerios before I left last night and was suddenly ravenous when I was picking up DD. I ordered a gluten free Domino's pizza with double cheese and light sauce. I ate the whole thing. In one sitting.
So there is this new thing that they have been making around here called Piccadilly. It’s a snow cone with pickle juice and pickle chunks(hot or sour), candy of your choose such as gummy bears, and a sprinkle of chili powder. So every evening around 9 I get a craving for one but all the places that sell them are closed at that time. I also want just a regular snow cone pretty much all day every day.
I'm sipping on hot chocolate this am, my DH is making tator tots and they smell terrible. I had a dream about artichoke last night and now I want that so bad.
I was reading about cravings and apparently cucumbers are packed full of micronutrients, B vitamins, vitamin C and folic acid. So that’s probably why I have to have them all the time! The gas they give me though!

@kapowfal I also ate an entire gf cheese pizza, extra cheese, on my own 2 days ago!
I HAD to have ham and pineapple pizza with jalapeños last night, even though we’d already bought dinner groceries.
