I’ve craving leafy, green salads and shrimp. I bought a half pound of shrimp at the seafood counter, grilled them, and destroyed them in two days. Also Hershey’s bars and cool whip for dessert. Dunkin Donuts hash browns were a new one this morning.
For aversions, I can’t stand Tums. I am also losing interest in coffee.
This pregnancy is really different from my first with DS. I lived for peanut butter, ice cream, and banana peppers (not together). I also had a severe aversion to eggs and coffee that lasted the whole pregnancy. None of these things are true so far which is really interesting to me (other than coffee which is just starting). Any other STMs experience something similar?
At this point in my pregnancy last time I had to force feed myself. This time around I want ALL THE FOOD. I keep waiting for the nausea to make its debut. Last pregnancy I craved plain, lightly steamed broccoli. I ate it almost every meal. My aversions were meat and butter.
I am battling some nausea, and a really poor appetite, but when I do want to eat I am only craving the weirdest foods - steamed artichoke, Greek salad, and all the green olives.
Coffee and anything sweet are absolute non-starters. And breakfast is out of the question. I can’t stomach anything before 11am these days.
I've only known I was pregnant for a couple of weeks now, not even two weeks... But I realized like yesterday or the day before that I have eaten SO MANY cheeseburgers in the last 3-4 weeks. I like cheeseburgers normally, but I normally only eat one or two a month if even that. In the last 3-4 weeks I've probably eaten about 8. Haha!!!
Last pregnancy I craved sweets and more specifically Haribo gummy bears. And I didn’t want anything healthy lol. The idea of veggies made me sick.
This time it seems like I’m more into salty things. Had a craving for bbq Fritos but couldn’t find those so I got the chili cheese ones and they were amazing! No food aversions so far.
I’m loving Mexican food, but that might just be me loving Mexican food & less about me being pregnant. Yesterday I was eating carrots dipped in peanut butter, not sure if that’s normal or not...but it was delicious.
I’m having aversions to coffee sadly. Also, the thought of pizza and bread make me want to vomit. I’m craving salad with grilled chicken. Also, chocolate cupcakes.
I had aversions to lemon last pregnancy and wheat anything. I wanted lots of sweets but that’s also true when I’m not pregnant.
Popcorn is a weird craving for me because I don’t normally like it.
Im having trouble with coffee and eggs, two of my favorite foods. I’m actually not nearly as sick as I was with my previous even though my BFP was way earlier this time but I have to eat every two or three hours or I start to get a headache, and I have to kind of force myself to do it.

@3rdtime_charmed I craved popcorn the night before I got my bfp. I didn’t crave sweet things like I generally do last time. Looks like this time it will be all salty snacks again.

A week or two ago I was craving the protein from beef jerky. Now nothing sounds good! My body is making me eat every couple hours or I get queasy but I don't really want anything. Or worse, when I do smell something appetizing and get it, the feeling quickly passes and all food turns into a big disappointment as I'm eating it (like earlier this week when I smelled Chinese food as I was leaving the gym, and I had to have it but dinner that night was blah). Although I will say that food I don't have to cook usually sounds good!
All food sounds absolutely disgusting except gummy worms (I don’t think they count as a good). Meat makes my stomach turn and in general just looking at our kitchen makes me want to get sick so there’s that. I’m basically forcing myself to eat.
Poor DH gained weight last time because I never ate (lost 12 lbs in the first tri) and he was just eating quick 1 person heat up meals.
today i had a serious craving for a peanut butter & jelly sandwich from panera. not just any pb&j... had to be the one from panera. and i don't go there often, either!!! crazy.
@JLaVO888 Yes to Olive Garden. I've only had it once this pregnancy, but every time someone wants to get lunch or dinner, I try to sell them on Olive Garden.
Otherwise, not a ton of cravings. I did tell DH I wanted to drink a cup of ranch dressing the other night. (Really, I just wanted ranch on everything, which isn't really typical for me.)
I am a little queasy but I want ALL THE FOOD. One of my girls mentioned pizza the other night in the car and I proceeded to eat almost a whole cheese pizza later on. I dreamt about cake the other night and still want it.
My only aversion is Peach Perrier water, which I normally looooove.
My first pregnancy I was so sick I could only keep banana cheerios down, and then once that passed I survived on Welch's grape juice, fruit and nerds ropes.
So far cravings and aversions are about the same as last time. I can’t stand chicken anymore and that’s pretty much the only meat I eat these days. As for cravings, I’ve been dying to get my hands on some ramen noodles since yesterday LoL!
Later in pregnancy last time milkshakes and ice cream were my jam! I’m hoping to avoid the excessive ice cream intake this time around.
ETA: ramen noodles are not part of my normal diet. I swear it’s only a pregnancy thing. I typically eat pretty healthy and clean.
Ok so it's a good thing I never noticed they were limited edition when I was pregnant in 2012 or I would have cried in the store for sure. They were the most pleasant food to puke out of them all.
I always crave empty carbs like bagels and english muffins in the first tri, as well as fruit. That is proving true this time around. I am also craving spicy, flavorful salads right now.
Usually in the first tri I get an aversion to grilled chicken and cooked vegetables...that has not hit yet and I am praying it does not this time around. I do have a weird pasta aversion right now though.

I want tacos all the time, but not sure if this is pregnancy or normal. I'm not into vinaigrette salad dressing which I normally love. I have an aversion to coffee and normally I'm a 1 cup a day person for the last 10 years, which would be fine, but I quit cold turkey a week ago. I really want fruit juice which is not normal at all for me. Eggs are ok some days but not others And I really really wish we had gone out for one last sushi hurrah before finding out about the baby! But maybe that is a want what I can't have thing. Also, the power of suggestion is real!! Driving by food carts is hard because I want to stop every time !

I read a really cool article about why many pregnant women crave carbs. Basically, lots of blood is now being directed toward uterus, brain is jealous so it demands more blood flow, it sends signals to body and body responds by making you put carbs in your mouth because that's the quickest fix.

That is really interesting! It is really the empty carbs in first tri for me every time. I usually dont keep bagels and english muffins in the house but I buy them early in pregnancy. That also helps make sure I eat breakfast every morning, which usually helps my morning sickness.

Okay so now all I want is a bagel and Welch’s grape juice nothing has sounded good in over 24 hours so I’m thankful that at least something sounds appetizing.
I am craving toasted cheese pita bread. I had it last night because we were out of bread and it's amazing. The thought of consuming any dairy products is making me gag, which is really sad because I miss coffee.
Later in pregnancy last time milkshakes and ice cream were my jam! I’m hoping to avoid the excessive ice cream intake this time around.
THIS. We almost named my DS Häagen-Dazs because I couldn´t put it down during the 3rd trimester. I am hoping to avoid it in excess this time around too.
I'm so relieved to see I'm not alone! My DH likes to say that I normally have a "weird relationship with food" but all I can eat right now is fruit and empty carbs. The other day I managed a grilled cheese, and I have been forcing myself to have a breakfast shake first thing. Still a little nervous that I'm not getting enough protein, but the idea of eggs and meat right now makes me gag!
@beachmama2019 if you can do shakes and need protein, have you tried Premier Protein shakes? I really like the chocolate, but they're all pretty good and they all have 30g of protein and low carbs and fat. I used to count my macros and supplemented my protein a lot with these. I highly recommend them!
@novelblessings I was putting down two gallons of ice cream a week past 28w. And I was on bedrest. Before that ice cream was one of the only foods I could stomach during the first trimester so I had it every night. My weight gain was out of control by the end and I would largely blame the ice cream.
I am craving pho and noodles in general, bread (all the carbs!!). “Fresh” tasting herbs like basil and oregano are really grossing me out which happened last time around as well. I’m also just bloated all the time blergh

Aversions for me seem to always be the same - can’t do eggs or the sight or smell of raw meat. And chicken is touch and go at best.
