Bracing myself for the dildo cam tomorrow morning. My husband thought he was going to leave the 17 month old with me during the appt while he’s at work.

My daughter opened the door at mine when she was about this age. HARD NO.
What's the point of the transvag vs abdominal u/s? Last pregnancy at 8 weeks it was just the abdomen. That makes me nervous, I dont have an appt for awhile but never considered I'd have that.
@corgicreator I think it has to do with how much they can see with the abdominal us? My understanding is that the transvag gives a clearer picture (probably because it's all up in baby's grill)
I was told at my intro appt yesterday that they usually do the 8-10 week US abdominally, unless you have a tilted uterus or it's otherwise hard to see anything on the abdominal, they they use the dildo cam.
Guess who has two thumbs and a tilted uterus? Ugh.

The first time I had a transvaginal ultrasound my husband thought I was going to be turned on by it. He got all uncomfortable and kept looking at my face. Dude, that's not how vaginas work. You should know that by now.
Same on tilted uterus. I’d never had a dildocam with my daughter. I don’t think I got an ultrasound at all until 12 weeks. And you definitely get a good view of the squish from being a human Atari controller though.
I found a midwife practice that I love! I'm really excited about that, after having previously had a really upsetting bad experience with an ob practice a couple weeks ago. But today the midwife tried to find the heartbeat with the doppler, and couldn't find it, and that made me a little sad and worried. I'm only 9.5 weeks, and I did previously see the heartbeat on a (transvaginal) ultrasound, so probably everything is fine. The midwife said she thinks I probably have a tilted uterus, too. We can have our own sad little tilted uterus club.
@jessier19 I know I have a tilted uterus and I wasn’t able to hear DD on Doppler until like 12 weeks if I’m not mistaken. My OB even had an “oh shit” moment the first few seconds of doing my transvag ultrasound on Monday.
@ruby696 I love my corgi, she’s my first dog and we really lucked out with her. As for the u/s, it’s really interesting how it depends on the doctor/tech.
Mine started with abdominal but she couldn't get a good picture so we switched and it was much better. I have had an ultrasound at the same weeks that didn't need to be done vaginally so there are probably a few factors
Appointment went great! They’re short on ultrasonographers so I’ll have to wait until next week for a dating ultrasound, but we got to see little bug wiggling with its arms up over its head. We saw it’s little heart just pumping away!
Same here @notthecheat. My nausea and lack of spotting is reassuring, but I feel like anything could happen at this point.
Also I'm just bummed because a lot of the ladies who have left are really awesome, they don't deserve this crap and I was looking forward to getting to know them better. MC's are so cruel.
