My first appointment is tomorrow. Why am I nervous? DD (4.5) on her own accord has asked me about going to the doctor for the baby and if she can come so I'm taking her. *Shrug* I selfishly want an US so I can know everything is ok in there.
Group appt on Thursday! Not sure what to expect really, probably pee in a cup and get a bunch of info together with some other women due around the same time. I’m much more excited/nervous about my us next week.

First appt Friday! I cannot wait. This pregnancy has felt way too easy (compared to when I was pregnant with DS), so I’m anxious to see how the little bug is doing in there. It still drives me crazy that my first appt isn’t until 10 weeks. Last time I was in there for a blood test and meeting with the nurse at 6 weeks and then back for an ultrasound at 10 weeks.
@kayjay44 I'm in this boat too! First appt is Friday and I'm so ready to call and give them some fake reason to be seen sooner. I'll be 9 weeks at that point!
Our RainbowBaby H arrived at 37 weeks on 12/20/16!

Tuesday is my first appointment (at 10 friggin weeks because my hospital is so crowded). Blood draw, hopefully an ultrasound, and all of that fun long first appointment stuff. I had an ultrasound two weeks ago because I was spotting and all was well, so I'm now not too worried that it's taken this long to get in since I've already seen the baby/heartbeat.
@AshleySparkle720 - I had one two weeks ago for dating (my cycle was super long/wonky so EDD based on LMP was weeks off). But I’d feel much better seeing a HB above 120 at 8 weeks (especially with my POCD).
I have my first appointment Wednesday! FTM here/first pregnancy- so this will be my first ultrasound! So many emotions!! As of now, I’ll be 9 weeks tomorrow, but I guess I’ll have a better idea Wednesday!
Appointment on Tuesday, I'm 10 weeks. Just normal pee in a cup, all the fun first appointment questions and forms, and scheduling NT scan. HB was a strong 160 at my scan 3ish weeks ago, so should be able to be picked up with a doppler at this point.
I have my first u/s on Wednesday, then an appointment after to see the midwife to go over paperwork and schedule testing (NT scan, NIPT, etc.).
Im so anxious for the scan. I feel like with my first 2 kids I had already had at least one u/s at this point, so the waiting is rough (I’ll be 9 weeks on Wednesday).
Tuesday! I have an U/S and getting blood drawn for the NIPT.. how crazy is it I could possibly know the gender of this baby is less then two weeks..
Ah! That's bananas. We're Team Green this time and that's SUPER hard when we have NIPT in a few weeks and we *COULD* know (didn't have that option for my previous 2 kiddos).

I wanted to badly to be team green! We have a boy and a girl and it doesn't matter to me what this one is. H said he couldn't do team green and the more I thought about it I would cave at the AS. Kudos to you to be able to do it!!
My 3rd blood draw is on thursday & 3rd ultrasound on Saturday - knowing my results could go either way is making the hours drag but I love reading everyones updates!
US and saw the doctor this morning. US showed one tiny bean measuring exactly at 8 weeks like I suspected and had a strong heartbeat at 167! Go back in 4 weeks for all my blood tests and genetic testing. Got a prescription for diclegis too so hopefully I start feeling better.
My first US was this morning and all is well! Measuring exactly on track for 8w5d and a heartbeat of 168. It was magical! DH looked completely stunned. I think it really hit home.
We'll be back in just under 4 weeks for the genetic screening US and blood work. I'm already excited!
Had my first 1:1 MW appointment today - nothing spectacular: an exam, going over history, labs, and scheduling my next appointments.
I've got two US (one in 2 weeks, one in 6) to check in since I'm having such severe nausea, as well as NIPT at 10 weeks, and my next 1:1 is September 6th.
Had a follow up ultrasound this week and baby had grown perfectly and heart rate was 171! Our last appointment they couldn't measure the heart rate, even though we could see it, and it was considered a *TW threatened miscarriage*. This has been a tough 2 weeks.
FTM... Ok ladies- my very first ultrasound ever is tomorrow (I’ll be 9w, 2days). What should I expect?! Should I expect to hear the heartbeat or just see it? Is the first one generally on the stomach or up my hoo-ha? My mother in law is coming with me...

How exciting! My first u/s’s have always been with the dildo cam. But the tech is pretty discreet and there’s a paper lap cover thing so you should be okay.

They will likely do both - abdominal first, then transvag. Whether or not you can “hear” the HB depends on the equipment being used and the strength of the HB (not the rate). I’ve never heard the HB on US, even at 20+ weeks. Just with the Doppler.
I feel like I didn’t get to hear the heartbeat on Doppler at 9 weeks but I have a tilted uterus and I’m fluffy. This office I’ve had two US and have gotten to see the heart beat twice at just shy of 8 weeks.
@okayestmom12@kayjay44@madreofdragons thanks for the feedback ladies! I’m so excited/nervous/anxious and just want it to be tomorrow at 3pm!! I wil certainly report back : )
Had blood drawn today for the NIPT, no US. Next US is the week after next and hopefully we will have the NIPT results by then! (Sample gets sent overseas to the USA for testing so takes a while). We are hoping to find out the gender.
Good luck for your appointment @dogmom1118! Fellow FTM here and seeing that first US was magic. Take tissues with you for the happy tears
@becks_726 Congrats on the great ultrasound, isn't it neat watching one's DH turn equally stunned and giddy happy
Appointment on Monday went ok. MW asked if I had any "uterine anomalies" and that reminded me that the OB that did my C-section said I had a bicornuate uterus. I had totally forgotten about that. It would explain the 2.5 years of infertility. She said even if the birth center did VBACs I'd have a hospital birth anyway this time due to a bicornuate uterus. Most practices request to be transferred to by 20 weeks, so I'll be doing that. Had bloodwork done yesterday. This coming Monday is dating/viability US. Next appointment is August 6.
First appointment today went great! Measuring pretty much on track with a due date of Feb 12 (making me 9weeks, 1 day today). I got to see the heartbeat and it was breathtaking! Heart rate 180. I’ll post a picture in the ultrasound thread. (And yup it was an ultrasound up the whoo-ha lol). I have to get blood work and go back in 3 weeks for the next ultrasound and testing. I absolutely hate needles, but I guess now is the time to get over that! Such an exciting journey! : )
Just came back from my first appt! It was an informational group thing, no scan or anything like that, but I feel a little better. I talked a little to my ARNP and she's amazing, made me feel a lot calmer about my spotting. Next up: US on Tuesday!
