ATTENTION FTMs and Mom’s of LOs that are before the age of embarrassing you:
I nearly left my 3.5 year old at a restaurant to live the rest of her life today. We had the nicest waitress for lunch today. Was very animated and engaging with her. The second she walks away from the table D(amn) D says very loudly, “WHY IS SHE SO UGLY?!” Ommmg. I don’t know if she heard her or not but my eyeballs shot out of my head like a cartoon. We had a nice talk on the way home about what that word meant and about how we speak to people. For the record, the waitress was actually very pretty.
Hi all! I am wondering if anyone is taking progesterone? If so, how much and for how long will you be taking it? Also, did you have your progesterone levels checked, or did you just start taking it because your doctor prescribes it? Thanks in advance to anyone who replies!
@madreofdragons when I was in high school my oldest niece was 3. I took home the guy I was dating to meet the family and he’s nice as can be to her. And then she points to the pimples on his face and goes “why do you have those spots on your face?!” That 3-4 yr old phase is brutal.
@madreofdragons if it makes you feel better, my DD makes up stores of DH hitting me and making me cry. Now every time she has a bump or scratch her teacher acts like we (DH) beat her. It’s ridiculous. That girl is going to get CPS called on us.

Britta lies about stuff like this all the time, too. I can’t say I should be surprised - I did at her age too
Yup. My husband was all butt hurt tonight because she told I’m I say he’s a dummy all the time. He shut up after I reminded him that he called me dummy (jokingly) in front of her an hour ago.
My due date is Feb 4th, but since I'm having a repeat csection, I'll probably be scheduled to have the baby at the end of January. I'm happy to have my pregnancy potentially shortened by a week, but we have several family birthdays in December, then Christmas, then several more birthdays in January already. When I found out I was pregnant, February sounded good for this baby so things were spread out a bit more for us. End petty whine.

We have 6 birthdays between the end of December to mid February (me, brother, DH, MIL, FIL and SIL) - plus this one. It’s a lot. It’s why I liked having June babies because we had no June birthdays. I feel you. I’ve never made it to 39 weeks (spontaneous labor at 37 and 38 weeks) so it’s likely this one will be early, too.

It's rough. Besides just the stress of constant events during that time, we also go broke from like November through the end of January.
My in laws just announced they are planning a 3week FL vacation, starting Feb.16th. I am due the 21st, but will have a scheduled c-section around Feb. 15th. It'll be interesting to see their reaction when we tell them this weekend!! Hope they don't mind pushing their plan a bit, for a new grandkid and we were hoping they would watch our daughter for a night or two while we are at the hospital....
TW: 1 infant loss 8/17: Our daughter was born 8/18: Our daughter kicked open heart surgery ass 2/19: We lost our son to Prader-Willi/Paradoxical Vocal Cord/ Noonans at 6wks old 4/26/2020: EDD for baby #3!!!

My son's birthday is February 13th and this new baby is due February 8th. I was induced at 41 weeks with DS, so I'm anticipating this one will go late as well. May was the one month that I told myself I wouldn't be upset if we didn't conceive and yet here we are! My grandmother and DH's aunt are 2/12, DS is 2/13, one of our closest family friends is 2/14, both my parents are in November, I'm in December (and Christmas ...), January we try to catch our breaths and then apparently all of our children are destined to be February babies. Valentine's Day just doesn't exist anymore lol

I hope they are not my ILs - they refuse to move their vacations for anything. Even grandchildren. But they are kind of assholes, so....
We started trying with the idea that January was the first okay month but I guess we really didn't think that through too well. DH will be away for training from end of August until February 2nd. EDD: February 13. Luckily my mum is a good sport and has agreed to come stay with me in January. She lives 8 hours away so I'm very very grateful that she's willing to do that.

Is he gone the whole time or does he get to come home at all? DH traveled for work a lot before we had kids and a lot while I was pregnant with 1.0. It's hard and I'm sorry you have to go through that too!

DD was sitting behind me “scratching” back when all of a sudden she decided to pick one of my “polka dots” (moles) off. Obviously my reaction was to twist around to get her to stop and in the process elbowed her in the face giving her a nice little shiner under her eye.
When she went to daycare the next day they asked how she hurt herself and she said “my mom hit me” That was a lovely conversation to have
Currently on a nice beach vacation with 15 of my closest in-laws My husband is one of 5 so it’s all of his sibs + their kids and his parents. I love them all, but man.. my nieces and nephew (and my oldest on occasion) are getting on my last fucking nerve. THE LAST ONE. I need a drink. I settled for a water bottle and a good book, hiding in my room because it’s too hot to read in the sun. FFS.

This reminds me - we were at the zoo and I didn't realize DD was behind me. I hit her in the face hard enough to knock her over with my purse. Also got a black eye and also told daycare I hit her

Thank you! For about half he'll be 6ish hours away so he'll come back for a few weekends. The other half he's only 2 hours away so he'll be back every weekend. I'm trying to stay positive about it but it sucks. I'm crossing my fingers that my energy will come back before he leaves.
@becks_726 does he often travel for work or just this stretch of time? My DH travels all the time if you ever want someone to commiserate with. I’ll be a half time single mom
So, I ended up announcing on social media early. Couldn’t take it anymore. I know we aren’t past the 12 week hump, but I figure seeing the heartbeat twice and growth going on track that our odds are pretty good now. If something should happen I'd like to let others know they aren’t alone.

I've announced at work. I was also pretty public with my loss because I think it's important to talk about. I don't ever really announce on social media though.
@megpants209 that's tough... He's traveled a little in his current role but post-training he'll be a frontline police officer so no travel but shift work.

We tell people early too. Haven’t announced on social media yet, but our families, friends and works all know. I figure if something happens we’ll need even more support than if everything goes perfectly.
I thought it would be easy to keep it a secret but it was sooo freeing to tell close family and now I'm itching to announce it to the whole world! It's really nice to know that if something were to happen we would have support.
I am way to scared to tell anyone even though I want to tell everyone. This pregnancy feels like its a knife edge so will be waiting for 12 weeks to (hopefully) let everyone know the good news.
From mid August through to early December I’m going to have to travel for work every single week. I’ll be away from my husband 3 nights a week on a good week, and often significantly longer. I’m dreading how all that traveling will feel once I’m 7 months along

I'm so glad you posted this because I want to post tonight. Our close family knows and we just announced to our Brother and sister in laws tonight. My sister in laws have big mouths and the whole town will know by tomorrow. My only thing is SIL just had her baby Monday and they announced the birth that day. Do you guys think it is too soon to announce on social media?

@mainemama_ Honestly, it’s whatever you’re comfortable with. I know some that post the pee stick before it dries, some don’t until way way later, if at all.
@madreofdragons I usually wait until after 12 weeks because I usually go that week and have an US. I’m 10w now and we had a good US yesterday. I deactivated my Facebook but was going to Log in and post to clear up and rumors and chit chat SILs will start. I just don’t want to get accused of ‘stealing’ the ‘thunder’ from the birth of my nephew. (this is how H family operates)
