I had my 37 week check today, and there is no change to my cervix, but the doc is concerned with a big jump in my weight (4-5 lbs), fundal measurement (from 36 last week to 39 this week), and feeling a lot of growth in the baby (last week she estimated baby was 5-5.5lbs and this week 8lbs!) so we are having an ultrasound tomorrow to check measurements. Has anyone dealt with anything like this before? It's my first baby, and I was hoping to deliver naturally. She mentioned possibly having to induce early or at my due date if the baby is getting too big to deliver vaginally.
Re: Baby getting too big?
Are your feet or legs swelling at all? I had a few weeks of significant weight gain last pregnancy because my legs were swelling pretty badly so it was all water weight, not baby gaining weight.
Try not to worry until you see what the u/s says tomorrow, but even then remember that u/s measurements can be off too. My BFF was told her baby was measuring 8lbs via u/s - the next day she went into labor and delivered a 6 1/2lb baby.
