Re: UO • 6.19

  • @tumbleweed-1 hmm...it'll be interesting to potentially change the amount of food they get. We've only got one food/water dish, they just kind of share. I've been thinking I may need a second, definitely if we start wet food. The bigger cat would probably eat it all honestly...
She doesn't mind being brushed too much. And yea, I had the vet shave her matts out back when they got shots in October, I have a brush type thing that kind of helps cut through that stuff though, so I may try to just gently brush her first and see if I can work out any smaller matts before I cut anything.

    Thanks for all your knowledge!!

  • @CecilB93 food dishes- I use tea plates (that go under tea cups) 2cd hand for cheap cat food plates. And they are pretty!
  • I'll have to use some small dishes for wet food for now. They share fine with one dish for dry food, but if I try to make set meal times, I imagine they'll need their own dishes. Idk if I can get one to come out though, she mostly hides when the toddler is out, idk if I could get her to follow an actual schedule. I'll have to try though, who knows!

  • @rosebud332 YES!! That is exactly what I say. When people constantly post about how great their relationship is on facebook and how much they love their partner, they're only trying to convince themselves. I had a friend who ALWAYS did this and her relationships would last less than a year and they were never good relationships. I almost never post about DH. He knows I love him. *eye roll*

+1 to the zipper merge! There would be less traffic back ups and accidents if people would just stop being jerks and let other people merge onto the highway/road!! I might be misunderstanding what zipper merge means. lol

@CecilB93 TTT is Ten Things Tuesday. Where you list ten things that are going on in your life/that you're thinking. It doesn't always have to be 10, it can be up to ten or less. :)

@Jens_Hoes I second marriage is not always sunshine and rainbows. Also, sometimes I'd love to throat punch DH. ;) He's great most of the time, but sometimes men just. don't. think!!

  • @AdorkablePixie The zipper merge is pretty much that — when two lanes merge into one (like for construction or whatever else) and people start moving into the free lane waaaaay earlier than they need to, “to be polite.” It’s far more efficient for cars to use both lanes and merge at the very end. But everyone thinks it looks like a jerk move, especially when the lane ending is completely abandoned.

I say you start a Ten Things Thursday this week to make up for the early UO!

  • @AdorkablePixie oh yea, I forget about that thread because I've never participated in the past lol. I'm the type of person who just ignores threads that don't interest me though, so definitely start it if you want!

  • @CecilB93 It's such a great way to get to know each other though! I know most of the rest of our posts are too, but still. lol Maybe waiting a little while to start it will cause more people to participate.

  • Father’s Day was unbearable for me to be on Facebook. I just kept thinking, congratulations you have a father like everyone else or you were impregnated by a male human. Who cares? I sure don’t! I love my dad but come on. i am def on board with the AW haters :)

mine is that I think baby showers (and wedding showers) are dumb and when people expect them it drives me bonkers. My best friend lives up north and all of us in our BFF group have moved at least 1000 miles away from her (she still lives in her hometown.) I feel kind of bad she doesn’t have friends there to throw her a shower but she basically said she wants the gifts. And this is exactly why I hate showers because they’re so gift grabby.
  • @AdorkablePixie I can barely keep up some days as is depending on how busy I am, another thread of basically complete randomness just seems overwhelming to me personally, that's why I never joined in. And I can never think of stuff to say, I'd probably end up repeating myself week to week.

  • @echo-charlietango I had the Jawbone UP for a short while and that's the only tracker I've tried actually! I found that while it was nice to track sleep, it gnaws at my subconscious when it's not quite the amount that I need therefore I'm more tired than if I didn't know at all. That's just personal for me, though! I sleep well as it is.

@texas_t I have tiny little ta-tas so I'm afraid people would notice an extra little somethin somethin ;)

I posted my UO then ghosted yesterday to an impromptu half day shopping spree with my mom so I'm glad to not come back to flame :)

@Jens_Hoes Noooooooo the zipper merge is a beautiful thing and reduces traffic congestion! My husband's just like you, and it's a pet peeve when he gets salty about people using all open lanes for as long as they can... which is exactly what you're supposed to do. Down with early mergers! https://arstechnica.com/cars/2014/07/the-beauty-of-zipper-merging-or-why-you-should-drive-ruder/

My UO: I think The Princess Bride was an awful movie. So was The Neverending Story (blech), and The Goonies (barf), and any number of 80s cult classics. Consequently, I couldn't get through even one episode of Stranger Things, which was basically just a mashup of all the things that I hate normally. Sorry not sorry I'm missing out on that dumb cultural experience.
Based upon your movie choices I question whether you are human or not.
