Any thoughts about this cycle? Too early, but DH should be home, so that's good..

    Any questions?

Rant/Rave/Brag: DD's bday is in a week and her presents are starting to roll in from family. My sisters got her a Minnie mouse big wheels, but we were planning to get my FIL's tricycle that he and DH both played on fixed up for her. I'm torn between letting her play with it until then or donating it/ trying to return it. I hate having extra stuff around, but I also don't want to be rude and just get rid of the present my sisters pooled their money to buy for her. Why can't people just buy off of the wishlist...

GTKY: What do you see as your child's greatest strengths or skills? Tell us about a time when you saw your child demonstrating these skills.

DD is a very happy, playful child. Once she warms up to people she is very engaging. One of our friends just moved to town and she was having a blast climbing up the play structure they have in their backyard and going down the slide with him.

    Cycle/Month? 2/2

    WTO/TWW? WTO

Ages of other child(ren)? Almost 9 months

Any thoughts about this cycle? I'm half hoping its this cycle, half hoping it's next. I've always dreamed about having an April baby, but last time it took us 8 months to get DD and she didn't come til September.

Any questions? Anyone else successfully nursing and ovulating? I've gotten my periods back, so I'm assuming I'm ovulating, but my cycles are all over the place.

Rant/Rave/Brag: DH just made a swing set for DD and she loves it! Unfortunately the mosquitos have just hit and it's terrible to be outside.

GTKY: What do you see as your child's greatest strengths or skills? Tell us about a time when you saw your child demonstrating these skills. DD is amazing with her core strength. She's always been ahead for rolling, sitting, crawling. She just starting pulling up last month and now she loves walking around the coffee table throwing things off it.  :D

@meggyme I love that family buys DD gifts all the time (less for me to buy!) but all the clutter is ridiculous!
  • @meggyme yeah that's annoying when people veer from the wish list or registry. I had an aunt give me gifts for my baby shower that we're not on my registry and that I specifically did not want. Then another aunt flat out told me that she knew I had a registry but that she "doesn't like to follow those." Um ok. She got me something that I already had. I wrote polite thank you notes to both of them and then returned the items.

Any thoughts about this cycle? Even though I know I shouldn't, I keep comparing this cycle and chart to the chart for the cycle that I got pregnant with DS. It's driving me crazy and I'm only 6DPO. I understand that 2 successful cycles could look completely different in the charts, but I'm still comparing them.

    Any questions? Nope.

Rant/Rave/Brag: DH left this morning for a work trip :( the timing is good though becauseand I'm probably going to be moody this week while waiting until I can test.

GTKY: What do you see as your child's greatest strengths or skills? Tell us about a time when you saw your child demonstrating these skills. DS is really good about playing alone, but he also loves including other kids and adults in his play. Even though he has plenty of toys, he's easily entertained with non-toys like Kleenex boxes and dish towels. He also likes bringing books to people to read to him while he plays.

@marebear15 I'm still nursing DS. My first period PP was last month. My temps were all over because DS was still waking up 2-4 times a night to nurse. Thankfully, he started sleeping through the night most nights about 3 weeks ago, so this cycle has been more "normal." DS was nursing a lot during FW last cycle so I think I started to O but then didn't. I think I ended up O on CD30 and AF arrived 6 days later. I believe that once you are able to stop nursing at night and/or go 7 hours without nursing at night your cycles great more regular.

*Edited to add: I nurse him 1-2 times a day on days that I work and 3-4 times on days I am at home.
  • @luckywife10 DD has been STTN (irregularly) or just getting up once for the most part. My temps seem pretty stable and I've had 5 PP periods, some really long and some shorter. So if you're able to track your O, then I'm hoping I should be able too :)

Do you pump when you're at work? Are you planning on weaning DS?

Any thoughts about this cycle? Should know better but feeling really optimistic (even though O hasn't happened yet). I need to check myself but having a hard time....

    Any questions?

    Rant/Rave/Brag:

GTKY: What do you see as your child's greatest strengths or skills? Tell us about a time when you saw your child demonstrating these skills. DS has a pretty impressive vocabulary for 3. And he knows how to use those words. Daycare was shocked a few days ago when he accurately expressed being frustrated by something. I've never met a child his age who can hold a conversation like he does. I come home and he says "mama, how work?" I'll tell him I was busy and he will ask why. I'll say because the guys sold lots of cars and he will go "that's good. What else?".

@meggyme it drives me crazy that people buy big gifts. If we want something like that, we'll buy it. At the very least, ask if it's a good idea so we can veto it politely.

@luckywife10 I'm totally guilty of comparing cycle charts too. Last cycle it drove me nuts because my temps were smack dab in between good and bad cycles.
@marebear15 we just got some citronella plants for our backyard to try to keep the mosquitos away. They love my LO and she gets huge welts from the bites.

  • @marebear15 I also use OPKs and look at CM and those help figure out where I am in the cycle if my temps get a little wonky. I stopped pumping at work when DS turned 1. I was only getting an ounce or so each pumping session at the end anyway. I'm down to my last 5 bags of frozen milk, which will graduate used up this week when DS goes to daycare. I can go 24 hours without nursing if DS doesn't ask for it or falls asleep on his own. Before AF returned I was planning on weaning DS because we wanted to start TTC. But since AF returned I'm now in no rush to wean completely. However, if we're not successful in getting KU and DS is still occasionally nursing in 6 months time I'll probably completely wean DS.
  • @meggyme do any of the sisters live close enough that you could store it at their place. If so I’d just say you already had a trike for her and you can’t stord both but would love to keep it at their place for her to play with when she visits.

Any questions? Nothing that I thing anyone can help with. I have got the most stubborn child when it comes to potty training. We've been trying since May 17'. I have tried any and everything. I am so tired of people saying try this, trust me I've tired. He seriously just does not care. He does care about consequences, he doesn't care about rewards, he doesn't care about starting Preschool. He just doesn't care. His personality in general is he doesn't care about something unless it's his idea.

Rant/Rave/Brag: Can't think of much. Looking forward to painting my upstairs and getting DS switched to a new room after that.

GTKY: What do you see as your child's greatest strengths or skills? Tell us about a time when you saw your child demonstrating these skills. DS is good with numbers and reading. He's been counting to 30 since he was about 2.5 and we're working on up to 50 now, but that got paused because I decided he needed to learn to count in Spanish first and  he's struggling with that. He does small addition 1+1, 2+2, 10+10(he only know this because we count teeth)

@luckywife10 DD is still nursing 3 times a day (plus 3 bottles at nursery) and however many times she gets up at night. I'm not in a hurry to wean her completely, but I'm hoping that her milk intake begins to slow soon and she starts eating more solids. So far she hasn't dropped any feedings.

Rant/Rave/Brag: Having a toddler is like living with a bipolar person. Yesterday my daughter decided to act crazy, which is not helping with getting husband on board with a second child. I'm not sure why but all she wanted was momma momma momma. She's been teething lately and usually is a daddy's girl. Then this morning she kept toddling between the two of us while we were getting ready and giving us kisses. Heart melted.

luckywife10 we are still nursing too but just once a day - Bells is 18 months and I think she'd drop it entirely if she weren't so hungry in the morning! I don't think nursing that little would mess with your cycle but I'm no expert.

@luckywife10 I was so glad to be done pumping - its the #1 thing I am wary of. I say to myself well I can always just send formula to daycare. But I know I won't. Bells never had a drop of formula and I'm really proud of that and I'm sure I would do the same thing for another baby.

@kindbytealikat our doctor brought up potty training at our 18 month appointment and I was like whaaaaaat?  That sounds so stressful girl, sorry.

@meggyme at our town parks there are a ton of plastic ride on toys for the kids to play on. I'm assuming they come from people in your Big Wheels situation. Have you thought about bringing the BW to a park for all the kids to enjoy? (I'm not sure if that is a local thing)

Any thoughts about this cycle? Meh. Our timing was great, and I thought it would be the one, but now I'm thinking not. I should have lost a bit of weight first. That would help.

    Any questions?

Rant/Rave/Brag: I wish I could afford some Starbucks caramel and chocolate sauces. I have torani and don't like it much. :( better than nothing though I guess.

My son LOVES to be helpful. He tries to "help me" all the time. He was vacuuming last night. The vacuum is bigger than he is, but one of his favorite things is pushing the vacuum around. I have some adorable videos of that.
He also calls for wet wipes whenever he makes a mess and tries to clean it himself. He was cleaning my end table not long ago, and the night he got sick he wanted to clean up his puke! Obviously I didn't let him clean that one though!

Any questions? Anyone have tips for dealing with molar teething? DD’s appetite is definitely down, and gets cranky during meals. She’s rejected carrot sticks and all she’ll really chew on is the banana toothbrush teether thing.

Rant/Rave/Brag: We’ve been using Sposies inserts over night and they’ve been doing a great job with soaking up pee and we haven’t had any pee leaks, but if she poops, it’s all over. Everything has to get washed because the Sposies take up too much physical space in the diaper so the poop comes out. I feel like I can’t win with the over night diaper situation.

GTKY: What do you see as your child's greatest strengths or skills? Tell us about a time when you saw your child demonstrating these skills. Not gonna lie, this question is phrased hecka awkwardly to be about small kids. It’s an interview question.

Anyway, DD has a huge vocabulary for 19 months old. *Shameless brag ahead* She has at least 250 words, gaining more every day, and her comprehension is insane. You can have conversations with her about things that happened days prior and her memory is crazy. This morning she just started talking about things at my mom’s house (we were there Sunday) and she said “octopus” and I didn’t remember an octopus at her house so I said “is it in a book or is it a toy?” DD goes “toy.” I said “what color is it?” DD says “blue.” So I’m sitting here wracking my brain because I don’t remember a blue octopus toy at my mom’s house. And then I remember my mom has the Neptune jumper so I said “ohhh, is the octopus on the jumpy jump toy?” And DD goes “yes.”  She seriously amazes me with her language skills every day.

  • @general_organa we're dealing with molar teething as well. DS sometimes randomly cries during meals and he's been accidentally biting his tongue when chewing too. He still mouths his toys and likes chewing on my finger. DS likes cold, wet wash cloths to chew on.
  • @meggyme I hate the baby toy clutter. My mother is the worst offender. She keeps bringing random little toys and books, which is so so nice, but I don't have storage for all that stuff.

@marebear15 my period came back when DD was about 8 months old. We had stopped night nursing and were down to about 6x per day. If CM was to believed, my LP was ridiculously short (maybe 7 days), so I don't know if I would call that "ovulating successfully" while nursing. Honestly everyone is different. I know women in my BMB that are only nursing a bit here and there and still don't have AF back yet. Temping would definitely help you see what's going on.

@luckywife10 I've been comparing every cycle with my previous BFP cycles. My FF VIP is going to expire in 6 days, and I'm kind of thinking I should live without it for a while. Maybe it will help me stop obsessing! I forgot about cold wash cloths - I might have to bust some out for DD's teething.

@prpl11butterfly it's so fun having a hyper-verbal child. DD was pretty late compared to her peers on physical things, but even her pediatrician said she's "very advanced" with language. I'll take talking early over walking early any day! Her being able to communicate definitely makes my life easier!

@kindbytealikat oh man, I'm sorry. I'm not looking forward to potty training at all! TBH, not caring about anything unless it's his idea sounds like typical male personality :#. I hope he comes around sooner than later!

@leksiL you're new! Welcome :) No tips; I'm only at the beginning of our third month back in the saddle and TTC is already feeling oppressive. And I'm obsessing already. I have no chill, and I hate it!

@projectalice OMG your son helping clean sounds like the cutest! DD is terrified of the vacuum. I wish she would help clean! haha

@general_organa thanks! don't have any teething tips - Bells was having a very tough time last week with her incisors, just lots of snuggles, teething toys at daycare and motrin at night. Luckily it should just be a few days, right?

  • @general_organa My mom swore by green onions. They have a natural numbing agent in them. But what worked best for us is really cold celery sticks cut in thin strips. Other than that, Tylenol. It’s such a biotch to cut those molars.

Baby clitter is the worse. I’ve literally given away or let people borrow ALL of our baby stuff from DD. I’m just running on good faith that when we have another they will return the favor. I just couldn’t handle having it laying around when someone could be using it and it could be out of my way. Most of her stuff was given to us as hand me downs so I’m not too worried. As far as presents go I hate bdays for that reason. I try to talk a lot of people into not getting her anything or just getting her things like swimming lessons or experiences but it doesn’t work.

Any thoughts about this cycle?  Who knows. HSG is scheduled for Monday to see if my right tube is really blocked or not.  RE wanted to start Clomid this cycle as well, but we are pushing that off until after we know for sure about my tube.  If my tube really is blocked and it's the side that Os this cycle, well then that will just suck.

    Also, happy anniversary!

  • Did anyone chart their CM during their LP the cycle you got pregnant? I think I read somewhere that CM during LP does not tell you if you're KU. I didn't chart the CM during my LP the cycle I got KU, but I'm curious if anyone did and if you saw a difference from other cycles?

@luckywife10 I did, it was pretty normal for me compared to other cycles.  I had spotting, but that was also normal for me in my cycles that time around.  However, on the evening of 10 DPO the cycle I got pregnant, *TMI* I had a major blob of EWCM with spotting which was something I had never experienced before at that point of my cycles.  I tested the next morning.  Chart from that cycle in spoiler for reference.

  • @sparty18 I'm so sorry that daycare director asked you that today! I wish people didn't think "when are you going to get pregnant" is acceptable small talk. It's not. Not at all! I hope you still have a nice anniversary in spite of everything!

@luckywife10 I thought I had "interesting" CM during the TWW the months I got KU (with DD and the CP), but last month I had a very very similar CM pattern and only got evaps and BFNs... followed by AF of course. So I guess I probably didn't have anything special going on those months!

  • MH dashed my hopes and dreams yesterday by saying he didn't like the name Gilbert. I've had my heart set on that name for about 6 months now. And I thought it went beautifully with DD's name. I know it's super early and hopefully optimistic to think about already, but are any of you already thinking about names that go along with your other children's names?

  • @marebear15 I've had my heart set on Fletcher since DS was born and DH vetoed it. I ran it by him last time and still a veto. I feel like we had settled on Issac before .... so we will probably use that should we get so lucky to have another boy. Our gril name, Sage, has been picked out for approximately 15years now and has never faltered.
  • @marebear15 and @prpl11butterfly we had a relatively easy time agreeing on a girl name with DS - so of course we had a boy! But MH definitely vetoed a few names I really loved.

We’ve been hashing out names for a while now. I made a deal with DH to get DD’s name and now I’m kind of regretting it so I’ve been trying to talk him into literally anything else. I told him we could name a boy Castiel becuase I wanted the name Adeline so badly and he wasn’t sold on it. I’ve almost got him talked into using it as a middle name but ultimately I made the deal and I should follow through with it.
  • @JLaVO888 is there any significance behind Castiel or is it just his favorite name?

  • ......character from Supernatural..... wherein lies the problem for me. Anyone that knows he name knows he got it from that show and I dk if I want my kid named after a TV show. But I did do some resource on it and it’s actually got Swedish roots and I’m large parts Swedish with lots of family members named popular Swedish names...

We were right on track to have amazing timing his month and then last night DH couldn’t finish due to preference anxiety and then we tried again early this AM and literally two seconds in DD woke up way earlier than usual. We tried to put her in the living room to watch a movie but it didn’t work. Now I’m sitting here with O pain and two pos opks feeling like I’ve missed the boat. Chart in spoiler if you care.
