@zande2016 dammit did it change names AGAIN!? So my dad worked there when it was Tyco...then Kendall...then Covidien... lol I interned there in college in the Woundcare R&D department - got to make fake wounds with pressure sensors and test different dressing combo's for the prototype - got 2-3 patents for it too. VAC wound closure is really cool though - you pack the wound with gauze or foam, then put a big clear adhesive bandage over the whole thing and attach this port and pump to it that applies negative pressure - like a vaccuum like it sounds - which promotes blood flood, reduction of wound margins, and keeps the whole area sterile and compact. VAC's been shown to reduce healing time and increase better outcomes. Read a bunch of case studies from everything from motorcycle accidents to bad bed sores that got infected. K i'll stop nerding out now.
