@hayhay93 I’m so sorry to hear this, sending healing vibes your way. I also struggled with high blood pressure after giving birth to my son and I remember how frustrating it was to deal with when all I wanted was to snuggle my baby. Just know he’s in good hands with your mom and I hope you’re back with him really soon!
@SmashJam I’m glad your interview went well! Fingers crossed for you! Also, that family drama bs about the party is so annoying. I hate feeling guilty/obligated to invite the whole extended family to everything, we had the same thing with my sons first birthday party, and now we just don’t have parties anymore. And that thing about that family is ridiculous, making the kid stand in the sun with his nose on the wall in front of all those people? That just makes my stomach turn.
@wildtot I’m sorry for the rough day, I hope the M&Ms helped a little.
I had a rough day too, parenting a toddler on the verge of terrible twos on your own at 36 weeks pregnant is no joke. I was so relieved when my husband finally got home at 4:30. The bad News is he probably has to do it again next Saturday! I told him he better take at least half a day off this week so he can rest, but more importantly work on some house projects he’s been promising me for months. I vowed not to make him do them today since it’s father’s day. I’m currently letting him sleep in and then this afternoon we’re takinng our son to see the wiggles concert. Thankfully my mom is coming too so I have two people to chase and deal with the toddler. i’m Sooo sore today and I don’t even know why. I guess I did too much cleaning yesterday.
ETA I don’t know you how you SAHMs do this parenting thing full time while pregnant while your SOs work! Major props.
@zande2016 glad your getting some help today and have fun at the concert! @SmashJam hope you get some rest today!
I’ve been awake for about 2 hrs now and shopping on the Shutterfly app. So many good deals!!!! H might be surprised to get a huge package at the end of the month lol. Also still bummed about my fruit loops.
@hayhay93 I’ve been a silent lurker for awhile as I’ve been dealing with some serious complications on my side as well. But I wanted to jump back in to send you positive thoughts and wish you a speedy recovery while you’re facing what sounds like serious, painful and scary complications. Please focus on yourself for a few days - River is in good hands with your mom. I hope they get your wound under control quickly & get you back on your feet!
Speaking of Coco and Up...I saw Incredibles 2 last night with DH and bawled my eyes out to the short, Bao, in the beginning of the movie. DH was like are you really crying at this?
@hayhay93 Gosh. You've been dealing with sooo much. You are very much a strong woman and an even stronger mother. Praying you get stabilized soon and back to snuggling little River in no time.
@hayhay93 oh wow, I’m so sorry that happened to you. Please take care of yourself, remember River is in good hands. Prayers for a quick recovery, that sounds so tough but you’re so strong!
AFM, I’m currently laying here in bed awake around 8 am while DH continues to sleep (you can tell we are first-time parents!). I wish I could go back to sleep, but in spite of my pregnancy pillow, my back and hip have been hurting a bit.
DH scheduled a prenatal massage for me this upcoming Saturday, when I’ll be just shy of 38 weeks. I hope I make it to the massage, I’ve been meaning to schedule one, but kept forgetting due to pregnancy brain.
Spending father's day at brunch with a friend, which was scheduled before I remembered was father's day. Also, DH had his gift last weekend which he jokingly said didn't count because of all the shit he got. Set his ass straight quick and he looked quite sheepish.
The restaurant is busy and I said counter was fine but my ass is too wide for this stool and my friend is bigger than me so I awkwardly had to take back my choice and wait for a table, lol.
@SmashJam glad you set him straight! The nerve!! I actually got up and made H breakfast. Pancakes and a smoothie. He come over to me an starts grabbing my boobs. I asked him to stop and he jokingly said “it’s Father’s Day i can do what i want” yeah NO! He said yeah he knows that’s not true. Today should be mellow. Nothing but a target run planned.
@hayhay93 Oh no this sounds horrible. Do they know what caused this? I am scheduled for a c section and I am not looking forward to it. Sending get well vibes.
@zande2016 being a sahm is by far the hardest job I have ever had. With that being said, I work part time from home at night when my kid is asleep, but I had a few days where I had to attend a conference... I was a mess while being gone all day and only seeing my kid for an hour in the evening. Both roles come with different challenges.. there is no easy way out, these first years are just tough!
@hayhay93 I'm so sorry to hear! My friend had pre e and had a c section and the condition did not go away after the baby was born so the recovery was longer. Praying you get home to your sweetie soon! @pretzellover I've been thinking of you! I hope everything is ok!
Hugs to those having rough days and parenting solo. And SAHM always have my utmost respect!
@julybabybear part of DH's day today includes the movie and he may want to see Incredibles as well. Hopefully I don't lose it!
DH loved the snorkeling mask. I also got him a balloon ("World's best gamer dad", lol), an almond croissant for an early breakfast and 2 small dessert bites for tonight. I'm about to assemble the king ranch chicken (such a pain in the ass to make, I'm lazy !) And then we'll go walk by the bay. I told him I need to rest this afternoon because I was doing small projects all afternoon yesterday so it looks like we'll have a chill evening tonight.
Currently though I am being lazy and watching the World Cup in bed
@hayhay93 Sending you positive thoughts and vibes for a full recovery. Glad River is with your mom while you recover. You're a badass woman!!! Remember that!
@wildtot I made the mistake of telling DH that massaging the breasts help induce labor because now all he wants to do is massage my boobs. Dude...do not touch them unless I say so. Still sensitive! One track mind.
@pretzellover I hope you are okay!!! Sending tons of hugs and positive thoughts!!
Yesterday I realized I was having contractions, timeable at that. I called l&d just for the nurse to tell me I sound dehydrated and to drink 2 liters of water in 2 hours. Well, she was right about being dehydrated because they stopped after drinking the 2 liters. It wiped me out, so I spent most the day in bed resting. Those contractions are not pleasant and i was crying and snotty through it. I cannot imagine what it's going to be like when in active labor. Fml, I'm a whimp.
I’ve been waking up to timeable contractions every night around 2-3 that eventually go away. So. Annoying. Every time I’m like “this is it!” because with DS I woke up at 2, water broke, and it all happened so quickly. I’m pretty sure I won’t know I’m in labor until my water breaks, I just hope I have time to make arrangements for DS so I’m not giving birth on my living room floor.
Also, I thought I was in the clear of getting stretch marks this time around, but I just noticed some old ones popping back up looking angry and new. At least they aren’t technically “new” and I know they’ll fade.
@zombiehoohaa contractions are no fun! I’m wondering what “dehydrated” sounds like lol. I was told I wasn’t in active labor because I was soft spoken and could speak through my contractions.. Was pushing 4.5 hours later lol
@smashjam I read that as “my fine ass was too wide for that stool” and I’m still laughing at myself.
@hayhay93 I remember when my friend had to deliver early for pre-e and I read that having the baby doesn't always resolve the pre-e/eclampsia. Hoping you recover super quick and can get more baby snuggles today!
@smashjam I didn't even think dehydration could cause contractions...I didn't even think I was dehydrated, yet after downing that much water, I was better. The nurse also told me to keep my bladder empty because it can irritated the uterus and if I'm in active labor, I won't be able to control my bladder at all.
These fake/not actually labor contractions need to go away for everyone! Today was exhausting but fun. My son had a meltdown about halfway through the concert. He was just way too tired and overstimulated and couldn’t handle it. There were lots of other kids having meltdowns by the end so he wasn’t alone. Also I think we get parents of the year award, because one of the only things that distracted him from his meltdown was to play with/eat the ice and lime leftover in the bottom of my husband’s vodka soda cup sooo we let it happen. oops. Then we went out for delicious burgers and he wouldn’t touch his hot dog, so momma had a burger and a hot dog, and a couple hours later, honestly I could eat again already. I had defrosted burgers for dinner tonight but now I’m thinking I’ll let us order takeout once our son goes to bed as a father’s day treat - since we’ve been on a strict budget lately I was gong to put my foot down but I know it’ll make my husband happy.
Sounds awesome @zande2016, glad it was fun. Hope your takeout is great!
Regardless of what these pains were that I had, contractions or not, the on call midwife has not called back for 2 hours at this point. So good thing its all subsided but really like, how can you not call back? I would call back but...seems dumb since its not happening anymore.
So DH conned me into going to get monitored bc of decreased movement after the potential contractions, and of course now babe is moving around and I have no contractions, lol. I feel lame but that's good I guess, so I'll just sit here for a bit!
@SmashJam that’s prettt much what happened when I was in yesterday to be monitored. I felt stupid too. Glad LO is ok!
ETA
@hayhay93 I’m so sorry you’re going through so much right now. Sending good thoughts and prayers your way for a speedy recovery so you can be reunited with little River!
my random is that I made the mistake of thinking watching a video of a c section would ease my anxiety since than I will know what to expect and thought "it can't be worse than watching vaginal delivery videos right? " nope... nope nope nope nope nope. Also im pretty sure in hindsight it was from a different country but needless to say I now feel terrified...
@lindsayleigh1989 thanks for the warning, I'll remember not to do that. I was curious too!
Out of the hospital now, and they did a quick ultrasound...lo is head down! So @kissableviv may be you were right and it was a big crazy turn I was feeling!
@lindsayleigh1989 out of mistake we actually have my c section on video and i still don’t have the guts to watch it. H actually saw my guts on the table as he walked back from cutting the cord. This time i opted in for the curtain that has a clear part for when they pull the baby out. They assured me i wouldn’t see anything gory. Let’s hope that’s true!
@hayhay93 I'm so sorry that you've hit a snag in your recovery, I hope you're feeling better soon
@SmashJam congrats on the successful interview *fingers crossed*
@pretzellover I hope you're ok, here for you if you need any support or an ear
I think I still have not felt a single BH much less a real contraction, same as with my DD. I almost feel like my body doesn't know how to do this.
Also, I'm feeling crappy about something. We were at a BBQ, beer and music festival today which was a ton of fun BUT they had this pony ride set-up that made me sad. DD loves animals and we let her ride the ponies but now I feel so sad about it. It was one of those things where the ponies are attached to this thing and just walk in a circle. I can't stop thinking about it and I feel so sad for the ponies and for supporting it.
My entire pregnancy I have been craving a margarita like crazy! Would it be acceptable to have one delivered immediately after having this baby?! Daydreaming of this pregnancy coming to an end!
@smashjam omg is it weird that I'm so excited about your baby flipping?? Haha it's just so cool! Although I'm sorry it was uncomfortable and that you spent time to get monitored today. My LO hasn't moved too much today, he's been active just for shorter stretches. I go in for my nst tomorrow so I'm trying not too worry because a)I've had a ridiculous amount of food today - I blame DH and father's day 2) haven't had a good poop day -sorry, no shame and 3) I walked 13k steps today and did chores around the house too. So hopefully the less space in my tummy and the crazy active day are the only reason for less movement.
@runsomewhere no BH or actual contractions here either!
@lindsayleigh1989 did you find some gentle cesarian videos perhaps? My yoga teacher always tells us to fill our heads with positive birth stories. I know there is no way to make abdominal surgery look "good" and I'm sorry you're feeling terrified.
My entire pregnancy I have been craving a margarita like crazy! Would it be acceptable to have one delivered immediately after having this baby?! Daydreaming of this pregnancy coming to an end!
Ooh, in the randoms thread where it belongs! Don't know who you are, but I wrote down "2 beers" on my hospital bag checklist. I am kind of sort of seriously considering actually bringing them and secretly drinking them like in the shower or something after birth. Yummm!
Forgot to say, dont know about the rest of you but I have been having dreams every night about you ladies. Like, I forgot who, but last night one of us had a baby and it was the first non-induced labor and delivery we were all so excited. Then there are other random things you all are doing in the dreams too...glad I haven't dreamt about @kissableviv's perineal massage tho!
@runsomewhere I totally feel that way every time we go somewhere with pony rides, petting zoo, etc. There’s this farm near my house that’s also a state park and it’s free, so we go sometimes since they have nice hiking trails and my son loves running around in the grass, but every single time I leave feeling kind of depressed. They have baby animals a lot and you can just tell the momma animals are not happy about being on display with their tiny little babies. And parents don’t tell their kids to be quiet and respectful to the mom and babies even though they have signs saying to be quiet. It makes me sad.

hello who are you? also welcome also thank you for using the randoms thread. I would love a sangria in the hospital but I will wait haha
@flockofmoosen3 I had a dream last night about you ladies as well! Where I ended up knowing one of you in real life...and I've had others as well. Pretty funny!
Also, my mom gave away mini bottles of champagne at my baby shower..I'm took 2 and am bringing them to the hospital..one for me and one for DH. No shame.

finally catching up after all the headaches and medical crap this weekend @hayhay93 hope things are looking up - positive thoughts! @SmashJam yay good interview!! and flipping baby
Thank you everyone for positive thoughts! I'm still in the hospital, mostly stable and just waiting on insurance to approve the wound vac they installed so I can go home. Hoping for tonight because I'm losing my milk supply and getting depressed. You are all so supportive. I hope everything's going well and that those pesky false contractions stop.
I hope you're okay! Feel free to pm me anytime if you need support. I know what It's like to have these health problems. It's scary! @pretzellover
@hayhay93 so glad you are stable and on the mend! Totally random, but I did benchmark testing on VAC closure and helped design the Covidien version in a past life - those things are miracle workers! Though i'm sure it's annoying to be hooked up 24/7. FX you get to go home tonight.
@gingerbride26 I literally have no clue what any of that means, except that my sister in law works for covidien! lol. Well what used to be since I think the company was bought/changed names.
@hayhay93 I’m glad you’re on the mend and hope you can go home soon!!
