So um...I thought it was Thursday I’m going to blame the move on my total lack of braining. Ugh.
(Also, @hkom you made me realize that I titled this thread OU instead of UO. I cannot be trusted today)

@echo-charlietango I’m guessing part of the confusion comes from the fact that we’ve started doing all the weekly updates on Mondays instead of ours being on Wednesday. Anyway, I think UO (or OU as the case may be) is more exciting than TW Tuesday.

I guess since we have this started we can just keep going with it.
I hate hate hate that light gray color everyone paints their rehabbed houses. Actually, I dislike the look of most rehabbed houses in general, especially regarding historic homes. It strips the house of all its character and charm and they all end up looking exactly the same.
@PensiveCrayon Haha It doesn't bother me really in newer houses. My house and most of the houses in my neighborhood/city are 100+ years old. There's a lot of flipping going on and pretty much every rehabbed house that goes on the market looks exactly the same on the inside. It just makes me sad because it's like the flippers don't even try to maintain the historic character of the house.
Flame if you want, but my OCD is bothered by the fact that I've seen two threads started today that are not Tuesday threads. It just bothers my OCD that they're not on the "right" days lol. (Maybe this is more of a FFC?)
@CecilB93 No flames needed! I'm usually medium OCD easily agitated about the topic-day compliance too, but I'm just off this week Now I need to see the other non-Tuesday thread...was it me again?!
Re: Gray houses Interior paint I assume? Oddly...we did just buy a home with the medium gray interior walls It's loads better than the ol' Builder's Beige that was all the rage for the past decade. This house isn't too historic -built in the 1940s- but we're thinking about jumping through the hoops to get a local historic marker on the house. Also, turns out that we are just going to flip this house...which was not the original plan. We found some significant issues that the home inspector missed, so our casual attic remodel is turning into a serious remodel, and possible legal action against the home inspector.
Edited because @runrinserepeat is right, I shouldn't be throwing around OCD casually. I'm just a non-diagnosed stickler

@CecilB93 me too man, me too. But... do you really have OCD? I’m going to be a sensitive sally and say that my UO is it bothers me when people use that as a joke.
@echo-charlietango I had to check, but no, the other one was not you it's the STM+ thread, and I only know it's a Wednesday thread because our ticker was always the same day (until we switched to the due date check ins). The ticker and STM+ were the only two check ins I did for a few weeks lol.
Re: your house...wow!! That would be annoying to find those things when you move in. I'd definitely be talking to someone about those issues and the inspector not noting them or missing them.
@echo-charlietango Yes, interior. It bothers me mostly when it's like every room. I wouldn't be bothered by one or two. I do understand the point of it from a selling perspective, but it still annoys me Almost all of our house was Realtor Beige when we moved in! We've painted all of it except our bedroom, which no one else ever sees so I'm less motivated to do anything to it.
Also, suuuuper annoying about the issues your having with your house I keep waiting for the inevitable catastrophe that was missed during the inspection.
@runrinserepeat no, I don't actually have OCD, I'm sorry. It does really really REALLY bother me when things aren't a certain way or "perfect" for lack of a better word, so that's why I use the term "OCD", I just don't know how else to refer to it I guess. I didn't mean any offense or joking by it.
@CecilB93 I would just say that you're really particular or meticulous. OCD is an actual mental disorder/illness. Saying you have OCD because you're Type A and you like things to be organized is like saying you're Bipolar because you get mood swings when you get PMS. It's just... not the same thing.
@hkom and I realize that, I was actually a psych major in college for a couple years, so I definitely understand the disorders. I really didn't mean any offense to anyone with my statement.
I just wind up in this weird place where people tell me certain things are offensive and then I can’t let it go. OCD is a little closer to home though, as it runs in my family.
@CecilB93 That stuff bothers me too. But since when is the STM+ a Wednesday thread? I thought it was a 'whenever someone finds time to make it' thread. I started it on Monday because I thought that is when those type of threads should be posted.. and it was bothering me that it wasn't. lol

@AdorkablePixie it's in the Read this First thread saying it will be posted on Wednesday's
My UO is I hate all of the stupid AW posts on facebook/instagram/social media for holidays (birthdays, father's day, anniversaries). I think most people are lying about how much they love/adore/whatever whomever they are talking about. My feed on Sunday was inundated with posts about fathers and spouses being the best father. And on Valentines day. barf central. While it is likely that some of those people mean what they say in those posts, I think most are exaggerated and attention seeking. You life is not perfect you don't have the perfect spouse/parent/partner whatever. I just wished people would be more real about their lives and stop pretending it is soooooooo great. I also dislike the Why My SO is awesome threads on the bump. I am such a cynic and think that their spouses (most of the time) are doing nice things because they just messed up in some way lol
My other UO is I cannot stand people who don't follow the rules of the road where there is heavy traffic. Like during rush hour in the morning. If there are lanes of STOPPED traffic do not make your own lane and try to merge right before you need to get where you are going. If you do it around me I will block you and not let you in. I will likely let you ram my car before I let you in!
@Jens_Hoes yessssss to performative social media! My sister is the worst about it and it drives me nuts. I stay off Facebook and Instagram on all those days. And most other days too, actually.
@jens_hoes I completely agree! I hate how people feel the need to praise their spouse or whoever on social media. If I want to complement my husband on something, I will tell him in person. I have a friend who is always posting on her husband‘s Facebook about how much she loves him. Why? If you want to tell him you love him tell him in person or send him a text. There is no reason to post it on social media other than for attention.
My UO: I think The Princess Bride was an awful movie. So was The Neverending Story (blech), and The Goonies (barf), and any number of 80s cult classics. Consequently, I couldn't get through even one episode of Stranger Things, which was basically just a mashup of all the things that I hate normally. Sorry not sorry I'm missing out on that dumb cultural experience.
@Jens_Hoes Oh, I read that whole post and don't remember that. Oops.
I HATE the road thing too. I've seen people drive down the shoulder going WAY above the speed limit when the rest of us are going WAY under and then getting back over whenever they see a spot. I've actually called the police before, but there's no way they caught up to them. I don't get why they think they're better than everyone else and should get to break the laws.
I made a post on Father's Day with pics of DS and DH that said Happy Father's Day, we love you. Short and sweet.
Edit: Speaking of daily posts, have we been doing TTT? Or did we do it but didn't get many responses so stopped? We still do that in my May16 group and I love it. (I went back and read through the Read First Post )

+1 About aw Facebook posts just in general. I firmly believe the the more you post about how great your life is, the worse it actually is in reality. I know this is true for at least 2 people on my Facebook. Life seems so perfect! But it is not.
YES to the zipper merge (I am a firm believer in driving rude and wish more people would!) and NO to shoulder driving/creating lanes where there aren’t any.
Re: performative social media, I tend to fall into the trap but on Sunday I didn’t have a good picture of H with our son and he’s not even on social media. So I didn’t post. I figured no one would even notice my absence of posting. I love my husband and love seeing the dad he’s become but honestly it’s been rough with him in grad school and I didn’t feel like pulling something out of my butt. (That said, he’s coming to the end of his dissertation AND within the past week or so has determined to make some changes with how he uses his time. Yesterday he took A to his swim lesson right after he came home from work, and he won the Dad of the Year award for that.)

Mushy partner posts- I saw a bunch of those on Sunday too, and I even pointed one out to my SO and was like “I’m not doing that sort of thing, sorry”, but he is cool with it and wouldn’t write one about me either. I also hate when women refer to their partners as “my man”. Barf. Driving- I’ve only had my license/been driving for barely past a year, so I’m still very big on the rules. Also, having been a pedestrian for my 10 adult years of life before that, I’m the most angry about cars turning without using their turn signals. If I’m at an intersection (in my car or on my feet), and you don’t have a blinker, that tells me it’s safe to continue straight. Then you turn! Wtf!! No! My UO- cats should not eat dry food kibble the way dogs do. If someone can’t afford to feed a cat wet food, for at least one meal a day, then they can’t afford a cat.
I don't have a problem with people posting a public thank you to their partner on special days; I dislike when partners display their whole relationship and publicly communicate their undying love.
