Questions week of 6/11

Re: Questions week of 6/11

  • @hkom I think it depends on the size of the child and how much they move around. My DS is going straight from his crib to a regular twin bed and the new baby will sleep in his crib. He tends to sleep in odd positions and I think the twin will be more comfortable.

  • @hkom I was thinking of making the crib a guest bed or something in the future. I had a twin until I was in middle school, so I wasn't necessarily planning on DS going to a full anytime soon. DH lost (threw away) the piece to make it a toddler bed anyways, so DS will just get a new bed and this baby will get the crib when we move him/her out of our bed.

    DS2 due 12/12/18

  • @CecilB93 I also had a twin forever. I slept in one all through high school. I remember being so jealous of my friends who had full or queues size.
  • @runrinserepeat thinking of you today *creepy internet hugs*

Re: gowns - I looove the kickee pants gowns. They’re amazing from newborn to 6mths and there’s two options, one of which converts to a romper when you do want to bother with snaps. I can’t wait to use them again this time. So soft...

  • I definitely preferr4d the snapsuntil DS was about 6 months old...especially this go around with a December baby, I feel like it’s a bit cold (at least where we live) to uncovers completely to change a diaper.  After about the 6 month mark, it was zippers all the way. Especially when they get increasingly more mobile...they do not want to sit still for snaps.
  • I have kind of a weird question. Are any of you stomach sleepers still able to sleep on your stomach?

I can and it’s not too uncomfortable but now I’m getting irrationally worried that the baby isn’t growing right (since we’re in that weird space between symptoms and movements). I think I’d already transitioned to the Snoogle at this point (15w Wednesday) my last pregnancy. But then maybe it’s fine still because I started this pregnancy with a little more stomach padding than last time! I don’t know. Just being anxious over here.

  • @PensiveCrayon I’m still comfortable laying on my stomach, and I’m going to enjoy it while I can. I can feel my ute growing up and I know I won’t be able to lay like that much longer.

  • @PensiveCrayon I'm still sleeping on my stomach. My sister currently has my snoogle but I'm going to visit her next week so I will be sure to get back!
  • My first pregnancy I was a stomach sleeper and I slept on it until I naturally changed to my side. You will do the same.
The snoogle will also assist with thag id you have one!

Having pretty ouchie cramping down low. What does c-section scar stretching feel like?

**TW** A little nervous for the competence of my cervix since I'm AMA, had 2 D&Cs, and LEEP 2 or 3x for pre-cancerous cells*** Hoping it's just the scar stretching though...
  • Well HERE is a weird one: I'm yawning because I'm tired (obviously) and some weird muscle in my stomach keeps spasming. It's happened twice, and both times I jump and grab my stomach. I don't know if it's because I'm slouching in my chair or what. Or if it has anything to do with pregnancy at all! :joy:

@PensiveCrayon I have not been sleeping on my stomach because all that pressure on my boobs hurts. But, my doctor told me last time that your body will let you know when it is no longer safe to stomach sleep, so try not to worry.
  • I sleep on my stomach only when I can't fall asleep. I have neck issues and sleeping on my stomach makes them so much worse, if I sleep on my stomach all night I usually wake up in pain. I usually sleep on one of my sides or sometimes my back. My back never became uncomfortable last pregnancy, I'd wake up on my back in the mornings sometimes and it never bothered me (or baby).
