I’m still not feeling any better from the antibiotics, so I’ll likely be switched to something stronger. I got my test results back from CD3 BW and everything was normal, as expected. My doc wants one more test (pelvic ultrasound) before moving on to clomid. I wasn’t sure if she was going to want this or not (I was the one that brought it up during the appointment anyways), but at least I have something to “do” this cycle since we missed the window for taking clomid anyways.

    CS/Q:
What exactly will they be looking for during the US? And when in the cycle would be the best time to get the US, when would it give me the most information?

@meladams10 Did you increase your dose for this cycle? Any side effects or were you able to distract yourself enough with the painting? We’ve lived in our house for a year now and we have yet to paint a single wall… Everything is a good neutral color.

@LJMoon6 We are such cycle buddies! I'm glad your blood work came back normal. It's scary to think of having some sort of abnormal result but also annoying to hear, oh nothing's wrong! I'm excited for you to try clomid. Alot of women have success with it and you know I have my fx for you! Honestly clomid makes the cycles go by fast, which is nice. They did not increase my dosage. Since I ovulated on 50mg, they kept me at that. Sometimes people assume that increasing the dosage is the most obvious choice, but your ovaries can get over stimulated and cause major issues so I'm happy to try 50mg again! I really don't have any side effects other than a couple mood swings and/or just "down" days. What I've noticed is it's not the days you take the pills that really have an effect on you but the days following. You do feel more bloated and I did have 1-2 hours of O pain where it was hard to walk I'm assuming because my follicle was large, but it's all worth it! Maybe you and your DH should paint a couple rooms to keep your mind off TTC.  Keep me updated on your journey!! :)

R/R: Of course the day I really needed an accurate temp I woke up at 4:45!  I took it then and then went back to sleep and took it at normal time, but of course there is a big difference between the two. *sigh*  One will give me dotted CH's and one won't.  I went ahead and left the one at my normal time in there.  I'm sure it doesn't really matter at this point anyways.

CS/Q:  I guess the above rant should have been down here too.  If I actually did ovulate, I don't think it's picking the right date.  But no matter what I do, it keeps picking that day as O day.  Even if I discard that temp I think is wrong.  I am annoyed!  I still am not getting my hopes up that I actually did O yet though until I see what tomorrow's temp is.  And hopefully I can actually get a full night's sleep.

  • @meladams10 Good luck this cycle!

@LJMoon6 Is it an u/s to look at your uterus and ovaries?  Whenever I did that kind with my RE they usually did it on CD 3 as well.  Though I think I did have the initial one just on a random day whenever I went in.

  • ***Lurking***
@sparklingdiamond your signs are pointing to CD37, but your temps say CD36. The fact that your circles are open doesn't help. But your timing is pretty good either way, so I wouldn't stress about which day. The good news is it does look like you O-ed!

  • @meggyme Ugh I know!  Stupid not being able to sleep well has messed with my temps some I know.  I still won't believe I actually did O unless I get another high temp tomorrow.  My body has tricked me enough lately lol.
  • @sparklingdiamond Thank you! I had to take a break from temping for that exact reason. It was too stressful. But your timing looks good so fx!
  • @sparklingdiamond I'm saying CD36. I always have a day of watery cm after O.

I'll be back to post, I have to get some work done....
  • @meladams10 FX for you with cycle 2 of Clomid!!
@LJMoon6 I don’t know answers to your questions, but I totally get the frustration of wanting there to be nothing wrong but also not getting any answers. My US was normal and the OB reported things like the measurements of my ovaries and angle of my uterus.
@sparklingdiamond FX that you finally O’d!! Hoping to meet you over in TWW!

Straps are another issue but at least easier to manipulate. Rave- Brought a salad to work but was then informed that the seafood restaurant next door is "taking care" of us today. Fried clam strips, yes please! I'll be good and eat my salad too though.

CS/Q: Not much changed from yesterday. I'm having an increase in CM. It's not EW yet but I'll take it as a good sign since I haven't had this much since the loss.

@sparklingdiamond I got a + opk after o last month too. - on CD16, + on 17 and 18 but a definite temp rise on CD18. Guess would be that O happened mid surge and it was a lengthy one.
  • @prpl11butterfly Ok thanks for the info!  I won't discard the temp and just leave it.  I just woke up that one day sweating and so hot so figured my temp was off.  I have never had fried clam strips but it sounds kinda good!
  • @meladams10 Furniture moving has got to be my least favorite part of painting, admittedly I’m dreading this part next week.

Rave: DH and I are having a night out of town tomorrow, for a mini anniversary trip sans family, haha wish this week was FW. Also going to get my hair cut this afternoon, going short and blonde after being shoulder length and light brown for awhile.

CS/Q:  I’m jealous of everyone that gets such obvious CM, I really have to work to figure out mine. I’ve trying increasing water to increase production but that hasn’t seem to have made any difference.

@kindbytealight I have the same issue lately with CM. I was just reading somewhere the green tea before O is supposed to help. Does anyone have any experience with that?

  • Do any of you ever do the "time adjust" to get your bbt?  Like if you wake up at 4:30, but usually temp at 6?  I had a couple people mention it to me so was curious.  I have never done that.
  • *Lurking*
@sparklingdiamond I just found that today! I wish I had temped when I woke up at 3, but I will be using that in the future. It's worth a try.

  • @meggyme Did you just look at it online or is it available on the app you use?  I was trying to see if FF had a way to do it.
  • @sparklingdiamond FF has a (possibly VIP) tool on the website called Temperature Corrector. It's under Data > Cycle Data Entry. You put in your normal temp time and the time and temp you got (and an optional second one) and it gives a corrected temp for if you had taken it at the normal time. I can see myself using it, puting the corrected temp in the chart and keeping the actual temp/time in the notes. If it's available on the app it's well hidden, because I can't find it, but it is on the website.

  • @meggyme Awesome thanks!  I used it for my temp today.
  • @meladams10 fx for lucky cycle 2!
@LJMoon6 hope they find an antibiotic that works for you :(
@sparklingdiamond I’m not much help with charts/temps but Fx!
@dogmomma271  yay for more regular cycles!
    @prpl11butterfly free food, yes please!
@kindbytealikat funny you bring up CM- mine is usually really obvious but part cycle was not at all! I realized I’ve been drinking way too much Diet Pepsi and not near enough water! So I think that’s the key for me. This cycle planning to cut way back on my
Diet Pepsi addiction and get a lot more water in hopes it helps :)

R/R: extended lunch break today, woot! Can’t make it to the Caps Stanley cup parade though :(

Did some thinking about last cycle and set the goal to decrease my Diet Pepsi intake- my single vice! Last cycle my normally very obvious CM was very decreased - enough to hamper possible results of our very good timing? I dunno, but I have a plan and I’m sticking to it: More water!

    WAYDTGKU: Lots of stuff

R/R: I have a lot to do before we leave this weekend. Why does that always happen when you're going somewhere. Laundry, cleaning, errands to run, the oil needs changed, gotta meet with our dog sitter, a meeting at our church, still trying to wrap out this last film project, etc. etc. etc. I just want to lay here on the couch and binge watch shows.

CS/Q:  I think I'm gearing up to O now. Does anyone else in here take alpha lipoic acid? I've been doing fine with prenatals, vitamin c, and coq10, but when I tried to add the ala, I got sick to my stomach, my heart started racing, and I felt really jittery. I want to have the best egg quality possible but dang. Does anyone in here watch handmaids tale?

CD:1 or 2? See question below

    WYDTGKU: Sexing, attempting CM

R/R: Hitting the half year mark feels a little scary. I know it’s still not that long but it makes me feel like I’m going to be here another half year.

CS/Q: I have three sorry to be lengthy and needy.

Speaking of CM- this has been the first cycle that I have had any CM at all since IUD removal and it was also my only 28 day cycle (others 32 or 33). I knew AF was coming earlier than usual because of when I charted it and O pain.  Do you think there is any correlation. Or just a coincidence?

I usually notice AF in the late evening before I go to bed and it’s light but I guess more than just spotting. *TMI warning*Then when I wake up pad is pretty full after being on over night. So is CD 1 the evening before or the next day?

Would you suggest starting opks or temping first? Or both? I’m so afraid it’s going to make me over analyze things and stress out which I’ve been avoiding (anxiety issues here) but I would like to have more information to go off of.

I keep meaning to start temping but then I get a few days into my cycle and think it’s dumb to start. Will it help at all to start now for this cycle or will it be more likely to just be helpful info for next cycle?

TIA to anyone who had the time to read all that.
  • @JLaVO888 Hey. It's absolutely okay to start temping now or on cd4 if you wanna since you'll most likely not be ovulating on cd 6 or 7. If your flow was not spotting and light the day before, me personally, I would mark that as cd1. But you said yours starts late in the evening. How late are we talking about?'

I think it's best to temp and use opks to know when you are fertile and know when you ovulate unless your cm proves to be reliable. The awareness that you have anxiety and the tools to manage it can be what you need to manage it when it happens during ttgp. Maybe it's okay to take a couple of cycles off of your count since your body was adjusting from iud removal.

What do you mean this is the first time you've had any cm? Like you reached in there multiple times throughout each cycle and it was dried up, nothing, nada?

    @suzycupcake About 8 or 9ish pm usually.

TMI to follow: Pre IUD which I got ~Aug 2016, I used to get very predictable EWM every cycle like clockwork. Now I have *just* enough wetness to even get my fingers in to check. And when I pull them out it’s always the same, thin clear hardly wet CM that dries up in a few seconds. That happens all the way up until about two days before AF and then I will have very watery discharge for about 2 days pre AF. I’ve gotten pretty accurate at knowing AF is here becuase of it. This cycle was the very first one since starting to TTC that I had EWM and it aligned with me having a 28 day cycle and sure enough day 28 bam! Just so weird that the only cycle I have EWM is my one short cycle.

ETA: I also had O pain two days after EWM this cycle and I haven’t been getting O pain like I used to either.

If it was a really light flow, then maybe count the following day as cd1 if it started that late at night. I normally don't bring age into this, but you're 27. If this is the first fairly regular cycle you've had since iud removal, then I'd scratch 2-3 cycles from the count, personally. It could really help get rid of the anxiety about the 'halfway' mark. I really don't personally see that as a halfway mark. If I had started ttgp right after birth control, that's what I would do. I'd start temping now so you can see clearly that you are ovulating. That way, if and when the time comes to see a specialist (a year or more of actively trying if under the age of 35, 6 months for 35 and over), you'll have evidence that you are or are not ovulating, along with length of lp, etc. Bbt takes a lot of the guess work out. Combine that with opk and you can see when your body is gearing up to O.

You'll be able to find somewhat of a pattern to time sex to have the best chances.

Get yourself a copy of Taking Charge Of Your Fertility. Awesome and informative book. Read all of it a couple of times and refer to it often. It really helped me with anxiety.

@suzycupcake Thanks for talking sense back into me. Logically, I have been telling myself not to really count the first few cycles but the impatient side of me doesn’t want to listen. I read TCOYF like ages ago cover to cover but gave it away and am kicking myself for it. I guess I need to just quit being a cheep ass and get another used copy off amazon or eBay. Just ordered my opks and thermometer and they will be here Thursday. Overall I think I’ve been being lazy about TTC  and trying to justify it by saying I’m taking the “hands off-stress free” approach. But if I’m being honest with myself it’s causing me more stress not having the science to look at the whole picture. I think I just needed a good come to reality pep talk and this is helping so thanks!

  • @meggyme And I hope your lurkey loo self doesn't come back to these parts. I'm yelling at your ute right now and telling her to make your temps go back up! <3

@JLaVO888 You're welcome. We all understand the anxiety you are going through so you're not alone. I've been at it for 6 years and I can tell you that ttgp can come with a huge reduction of stress if you work towards it. It's better to be honest with yourself about your body's adjustment periods after certain things than to worry about the time that is passing. Because if you ever have to face infertility or assisted reproductive treatment, you're going to know that you tried everything that you could. See what I did? Play the anxiety out (even though it may not actually happen) but have a plan in place (actively try armed with knowledge and work to reduce stress), in case it does. Cognitive behavioral therapy for free. Hugs.

    CD: 2

WAYDTGKU: B complex, got my acupuncture appointment all set up for CD17 so FX that'll be right around O, scheduling sex on the calendar, charting in FF

R/R: I'm just tired. DH is out of town for work this week and my mom is staying with us to "help." She's been doing dishes, which honestly does save me time, but like... not that much time. She doesn't cook. Neither do I. It's been... interesting. I love my mom, but I really want this week to be over and DH to come home ASAP. How many days until Friday?

    CS/Q:  Nothin to see here.

    @meladams10 FX for you!

@LJmoon6 I hope your ultrasound gives you some answers.

@sparklingdiamond I'm not a chart expert, but do you have any alternate temps for CD37? I did a mini experiment of recording temps from the first time I woke up and temped vs when my alarm went off, and usually by the time my alarm went of my temps were all stabilizing around the same temperature and I realized they were all wrong (wrong for charting purposes, that is). So I've started only using the first wake up temp after the longest stretch of sleep regardless of what time it was taken at. IDK if that's helpful info for you as this kind of just turned into word vomit!

@dogmomma271 I'm blaming not being in the same place before O for why my last cycle was a bust. It's the worst. I also have a possibility for bad timing in July if June turns out to be a bust for us too. It really sucks!

@Stargazer1lily oh ick, I hate mosquitos! I'm itching just thinking about that!

@prpl11butterfly omg fried clam strips are my favorite! I'm jealous!

@kindbytealikat hope you had fun getting your hair done! I've been toying with the idea of getting highlights again, but idk if I can commit to getting them done all the time.

@Swiftlet since we've been on WW and cut all "fun" beverages, I've picked up a diet Dr. Pepper habit. I'm wondering if I should kick it! Ugh, I miss sugary sweet tea. Diet soda is the only fun thing I get to have!

@suzycupcake I watch Handmaid's Tale! This season is extra depressing.

@JLaVO888 definitely fine to start temping now. Some people don't temp at all during AF, but I've found that FF gets confused about my coverline when I skip AF, so I just temp all the time. It honestly wouldn't hurt to add OPKs this cycle as well. It will help FF pinpoint your O date by including your OPK data, too. FWIW, I think it took my body a long time to settle down when I first went off BC, so your body might just be needing extra time to adjust after the IUD.

  • @general_organa I can totally relate to your mom rant. It’s hard feeling ungreatful for lack of a better word but damn sometimes you want nothing more than for them to GTF out of your house lol. Hope the week speeds by so DH is home. PS: looks like we are pretty much cycle buddies this go around!

Im sure it’s taking my body forever to adjust off IUD. I really kind of regret going on it. It’s really messed with my body and ever since being on it I get random nausea that’s so annoying. Dr google tells me I’m not the only one that’s happened to.
  • @JLaVO888 I'm with you. I so so so regret ever getting the IUD. My BFF and her med school friends were all raving about it so I decided to get one. It totally messed with my body and I'll never get one again!

  • @JLaVO888 Sounds like we're in a similar place right now with TTC. Just wanted to give a fist-bump of solidarity.
@suzycupcake I also appreciate the wise words <3
@general_organa I've honestly never been a drinker. I've done my share of crazy partying and I'm good now. I also don't smoke, use recreational drugs...anything! So I feel kind of entitled to my diet pepsi :p Buttttt I'm going to do an experiment this cycle and see what happens when I cut back and increase water. Which is totally lame, but oh well :(
  • @general_organa Yea my temp at 4:45 when I first woke up yesterday was 97.42.
  • @general_organa and @Swiftlet I’ve been thinking I probably need to cut the beer but summer is my favorite time to enjoy a beer in the evening and it feels like the silver lining that I cling to each time AF shows. Another cycle or two though and it’s going to have to be a goner.

@sparklingdiamond what happens to your chart if you use that temp instead?
