@runningyogimama DH is pretty stubborn and says I should wait out the two weeks.
@kamahina9 I'm taking the same approach. I made a sign with the Old Wives' Tales and a voting board yesterday. 7 out of 8 old wives' tales say it's a girl.
My OB's office totally just psyched me out! I saw the number pop up on my phone and immediately thought "Ooooo!!!! NIPT results are early!" No... they just were calling to reschedule an appt in September

@lurvleybunchococonuts that's so frustrating! I had that happen waiting for betas, they called to confirm an appointment and I was so pissed that it wasn't my betas.
STM+ - I have a question about getting a pump through your insurance. Did you just call and ask? Do you do this ahead of time?

I filled out the form on Aeroflow (https://aeroflowbreastpumps.com/qualify-through-insurance) and they took care of everything else. They contacted my insurance, and gave me a list of pumps that were covered by my insurance, and once I picked the one I wanted they shipped it to me all for free. The whole process took about 8 days.
@tessiesmom26 the first time, i was able to follow a link online through my insurance (aetna, and i had a choice of vendors) and filled out all the information on a webpage a couple months before my due date. however, at zero hour (baby’s birthday) i called to check on the status of my breastpump, and they said that there was a problem with something and they haven’t fullfilled it yet. i had to figure that out at the hospital and my pump was delayed which was annoying. i haven’t looked into it for this pregnancy yet (different insurance), but it’s high up on my to-do list.
@tessiesmom26 I know with my insurance, they require a script from my doctor no earlier than 28 weeks. Once that's been received, they will allow me to select from the approved options and ship out my pump. Not sure if it's the same with all insurances or not.
@k0leslaw@highsteaks@ginny_203 Thank you! I have seen two sites on here, the one @k0leslaw mentioned and one a while back and my insurance wasn't listed on either so I will call and see what they need me to do. Thank you!!

@tessiesmom26 - I think they are all different so I’d call and see. My insurance was grandfathered in so they don’t have to provide any kind of breast pump. If yours does I’d definitely look into what kind of pump because some only provide hand pumps or less than stellar electric pumps.

@tessiesmom26 my insuranance company gave me a list of medical supply companies they approved to give me the pump. Called one of the companies on the list that had the pump I wanted and they had a form for me to fill out with insurance info and the rx from my doc. Pump came in the mail 4-6w later. I called my new insurance (DD will be three so I’m due) and they basically said the same process - contact an approved medical supply company. It was pretty easy, but I’d call so you can start the process and cross your Ts and dot your I’s
Filled out the form with aeroflow ans just got my email saying I'm approved (not surprised since I know my insurance covers a pump). Now I just need to figure out which one off to rebump the weekly spotlight breastpump thread with my extra questions

@offtoneverland I would but I don't think that's an option for me (at least not through aeroflow) I'm leaning towards a sepctra

@highsteaks ahhh thats good to know about extra parts!
Now the question is... Do I order it? Or wait until like October/closer to when LOs arrival? I just don't want to waste the 90 day parts warranty by ordering now and having parts break first usage but not have them covered cause I got it too early. (Especially if spare parts are a pita to get lol).

@lurvleybunchococonuts does that warranty extend to the base itself? or just the parts? if it’s the same one i had, i can’t see why the parts would ever be an issue. but, if it covers the base, it would be nice to have that warranty while it’s actually in use. and, you can buy extra parts through the spectra website, but it’s not as convenient as say a medela where you can buy parts at target or walmart same day you need them.
fwiw, i’m still planning on getting another spectra, even with the parts hassle because i did like it that much. not trying to talk you out of it at all!
@tessiesmom26 I used yummymummystore.com to order my pump with DD. It's pretty similar to the other websites PPs posted about. You put in your insurance information and, if they accept your insurance, they will do all the work on their end to work with your insurance. It was so easy!
@lurvleybunchococonuts I love planning ahead and getting things early, but I guess it's probably better to wait until your due date is closer to order it. But make sure you leave enough time for shipping so it doesn't arrive too late, although you will hopefully not need for the first couple weeks.
@highsteaks the website states warranty is 2 years on the pump motor, 90 days on pymp parts. I was reading some blog a few months back that apparently you can get/adapt medela parts for the sepctra fairly easily too (if need be).
@offtoneverland good call/thought regarding shipping time. Based on reviews it looks like they ship pretty quickly (most received within a week of ordering) but one never knows I think I'll set my reminder to order it no later than mid-October or thereabouts. I like to plan ahead of times but also don't want it to just sit and take up space at this point

My insurance wouldn't let me order mine until 36 weeks with DD. I started the process at 34 weeks and then the company emailed me at 36 to remind me to finish it and submit so I could get my pump.
Question for those of you with GD. My urine glucose from my OB appointment came back at 1+ yesterday; before this, it's always been negative. Obviously I know you guys aren't doctors and I'm expecting to hear from my OB if it's a concern, I'm just curious if I should expect to hear from my OB, or if this might be a sign of GD? Or perhaps 1+ is normal sometimes.
@middleschoolmommy sorry for the late response on this! That's a tough situation- if I were you I would be completely honest and leave it up to them. I may say something like, "you're welcome to come right away if you want, bearing in mind we may be exhausted and trying to figure this baby out most of the day, or you can come in the Spring when they are more interactive, totally your call".
@serabjorn I agree with most, I would take it all (except sanitary, trashed, or totally out of date items)! I have closets full of stuff from others I need to weed through when I get a bit farther along but have a feeling most will be used at SOME point.
