I just dropped my truck off at the shop, for the second time, since I bought it two weeks ago. They get one more chance before I can return it according to our states lemon law. I'm so annoyed.

My friend's husband was being really handsy about my "baby bump" and asking why I was trying to hide it. It didn't matter how many times I told him it's not a baby bump yet, just flab and bloat, he kept insisting and trying to touch! He was getting really close to getting a black eye.

@leighbrek WHAT?? Like most women don't even want you to touch their belly when they actually have a real bump...much less when it's all bloat.

@leighbrek my first maternity wear purchase is a shirt that says "can't touch this". I will probably be wearing it every day. I would NEVER reach out and touch a stranger like that, why in the heck would someone think it's ok to do that?

Hahaha. I love that shirt.

In my state you can actually be arrested for harassment if you touch a pregnant woman's belly without permission. They passed the law a year after DS was born.

I have too much on my plate right now. I've mentioned that DH runs a summer camp, and it's so stressful. I also work full time, and I have to drive 3 hours round trip every day during camp season because we move down to the cabin. There are some really great things about the camp, but it's also so damn stressful and I end up doing solo parenting because DH is working 12-16 hour days.

My mom did that to me when I was pregnant with my DS. Obviously my mom touching me is more acceptable but I just kept telling her she was just touching my flab!

Just some commiseration on the solo parenting front. My H is a football coach, so I'm a solo parent in the fall. It's rough.

I've been MIA from the board for a few days. We went on a family vacation to Gatlinburg and I had really spotty phone service so I stayed off of it most of the time. It was nice to unplug for a while. But dealing with family for 4 days straight in the same house without being able to have a drink....that was a rough one lol

Love the idea of it being illegal! Should be legal to twist their fingers if they do touch.
@kns1988 Never ever had a problem with him before. Maybe just super loves the idea of babies? Not entirely sure.

I asked DH to get some ice cream sandwiches at the store. He texts me “can I ask for a favor?” Instead of reading “favor” I read “flavor” and text back “vanilla.” DH then texts back “I said favor not flavor.” Oops.

@leighbrek Ugh, that is super creepy. It's awful and invasive at any point in pregnancy, but seems super creepy this early. Your friend should have told her H to knock it off.

I'm really hoping my RBF prevents people (at least strangers) from touching my stomach without permission.

I just really need to avoid my mom for the next 7 months because she has been getting on my last nerve since I found out I was pregnant.

No one tried to touch my belly last time except my bil when he was drunk at Christmas. He kept calling it a buddha belly, so I rubbed his belly right back and asked him how far along he was.

I just got the book Uprooted out of the library based on the books thread the other day. I don't usually read sci fi, but I'm excited to try something new. I read a little bit so far, and I really like her writing style.

So far at least 3 coworkers today have checked out my midsection. Only 7 weeks and they are already suspicious. It's funny because for my first pregnancy I wished i showed more (so dumb!) and now I wish I could hide it as long as possible.

@leighbrek your friend’s husband sounds super creepy that he kept insisting on touching your belly. Not even my girlfriends ask at this point in my pregnancy. Something sounds off w him.

@luckymay2x omg it’s like you took the words right out of my mouth. I came here to say just that. I also noticed that I was subconsciously covering up my belly with my arms crossed in front of it and maybe that’s what drew their attention. All I know is, I’m almost 8 weeks and think I’ll announce at 10. Even two weeks will be hard given I sat on my butt all day while my jeans felt like ripping and spilling my guts out.

Next all day meeting, I’m definitely wearing a loose dress. Jeans even w bella band = baaad idea.

@AliKay20 I have also caught myself tugging at my clothes and messing with my gut region, so I feel like it is a combination of me being self conscious and other people speculating.

@saltedcaramel518 former football widow here too! Luckily MH quit coaching and playing once DD2 was 6 months old.

My my company is in the process of being sold, so I’m waiting to tell my boss that I’m pregnant until I confirm that I have a job. But after a weekend eating my way through Vegas and this being baby #3 (second in less than two years), I don’t know if I’ll be able to hide it that long.

If my U/S goes well Thursday and I graduate to OB then we're going to tell DS (5) and I'm so excited, I cry every time I think about it. He's asked for like two years for a sibling. Plus, I want him to know why I've been so sick. He's always worried.

I have zero desire to be out in the city today (Caps parade) so I’m teleworking. Just wish my energy level would be higher since there’s so much to do!

I just made toast w butter and strawberry jam. Butter oozed out every time I took a bite. It was glorious. I may need to slow my roll for the rest of the week since I go in for an appt Friday. Hope everyone has a good Tuesday!

Last pregnancy I never had an appetite. Eating was a challenge and a chore.

This time I am so hungry! I want to eat everything, except some minor aversions.

I woke up craving both Peruvian chicken and Indian food. Had to make a tough call, but I'm going out for indian with some work friends for lunch.

Gah!!!! I'm so happy!!! My H said that his coworkers wife saw a Bob for $80 normally $450 and wanted to know if she should pick it up. I said yes!!!!!!! I didn't even care what color. Turns out it was black!! I'm so happy!!! First baby purchase!

My golden retriever brought me a potato. Literally, just a potato. It's been mostly what I've been eating because of the nausea, though I doubt he's aware of that. He had the guiltiest look with his head down and Big brown eyes looking up at me. I held out my hand and he handed the potato over. Goldens are the best.

I bought the Sonoline B fetal Doppler online yesterday after a lot of your recommendations. It was supposed to be here Friday but I just got an email saying it shipped yesterday evening and is going to be here today!!! I won't be getting any work done this afternoon. I'm going to close my office door and hopefully have a HB party (I'm fully aware that I likely won't find it but I'm going to hope for the best anyway!)

@tosh24 Where did you buy it? I would like to get one. I've only looked on Amazon and I didn't see that brand, which is the brand I want to get.

@tosh24 I have mine out but I’m only 7 weeks so haven’t attempted using it yet! I’d love to hear how it goes for you! There are videos on YouTube that help know where to try. I can’t rmemeber when I successfully used mine last time but I do know I had to search super low!
