  • @TravelingCouple props on keeping up with the hypnobabies stuff.  I'm only on my 4th week and it sorta feels like pulling teeth every time I need to practice I feel like I'm going to get kicked out of class because I'm struggling to get it in every other day instead of everyday.  There is always other stuff I want to get done but I figure at least I'm trying and hopefully I'll get some benefit out of it.  I just need to make it more of a priority.

  • Also, @2MomsHoping I cried this weekend when DH went out to get a couple of BBQ chickens at this fundraising thing set up in our village. I assumed that, like where I'm from, they'd have some sides like salt potatoes or corn or macaroni salad or SOMETHING other than just straight meat, so when he came home "with lunch" and it was just two chickens, I said "I CAN'T JUST HAVE MEAT FOR LUNCH!" and starting sobbing like a toddler. I really wanted some carbs. So I get the overblown reaction, especially when it's about food and you're exhausted and starving!
  • @2MomsHoping I was definitely not as disciplined at 30 weeks!! I feel like once 35 weeks hit, reality settled on how quickly she's coming, so I got better at don't daily practice!
  • Hello all! @2MomsHoping I am also waiting impatiently for updates from those two! Hopefully they are busy snuggling their LOs. Btw don’t worry about your melt down. It’s perfectly appropriate when you are pregnant and something happens to your food  :D

@travelingcouple wow 38 weeks! That’s awesome, that means any day now. Maybe I should start coaching mine about labour as well. I always give him a talk on work days and ask him to be good but he usually doesn’t listen lol

Welcome to third tri @sarcasticowl! Sorry the discomfort is so much worse now. Just keep trying different things until you find what works for you. I was getting exhausted because I am a natural belly sleeper and on my sides I can only sleep a few hours now before my back and hips hurt too much. I found a blow up bed that allows me to sleep on my belly so now I just transfer to that after a few hours on the bed (it’s big and has to stay on the floor). It has made a big difference for me. For heartburn I got a list of approved meds from my OB’s office and found a combination that worked went eventually so be sure to ask your OB about it.

@irisheyes81 I don’t pee every hour but it’s definitely a lot. Seems like if I so much as think about it then I have to go. Plus I usually go like twice overnight.

So I’m 33 weeks today so super excited about that. I was reading my app today that gives a short synopsis each week and it said if baby is born now he would most likely require minimal intervention. For some reason I just started to cry readin that, I guess I just never thought I’d get this far.
Today I had to leave work early because I’m just not feeling well. I have chronic medical issues as well and really don’t want them to flare up this week so I’m trying to take it easy. I will go back Wednesday.
Tomorrow is finally my repeat ultrasound with my high risk and Saturday is my baby shower so it’s an exciting week. Just hope I make it through and stay well enough to enjoy the shower.

ps seems my tagging is not working right now...
  • Love love the name! Congrats to you. Sorry labor was so rough for you. She is a great size. Glad you got to have her and not have a c section. She looks adorable. How long do they think you will be at the hospital? Hope her jaundice clears up soon. Congrats to you Momma!  <3<3<3
TTC 4 years. 7 failed IUI's with either Clomid, Femara and/or Trigger Shots. Started IVF journey in February 2017. Polyps removed in May. 1st IVF Transfer September 26th. BFP. Expected due date 6/14/18. Baby boy born 5/25/18 at 6 lb 9 oz. My bundle of joy.
  • Congrats @Hopeful_mom!!! Sorry it was such a rough ride, glad she's finally here
  • @Hopeful_mom congrats! She is beautiful!! I'm sorry it was so rough for you :( please make sure to set aside some time to take care of you. Hopefully you'll get in a good amount of sleep soon.
  • Eeeek, what a perfect little thing, and that's a good fightin' weight, @Hopeful_mom! I'm so sorry for all that you went through and continue to go through, but once you're able to get home and comfortable I bet you'll feel so much better about things. Nothing like being stuck in a hospital that basically tortured you for hours to leave a bad taste in your mouth about being there :) FX that you get discharged soon!
  • @Hopeful_mom and @Aera11 congrats ladies!

@sarcasticowl welcome! And August 23rd is my first born's birthday :)

@irisheyes8 yes, peeing all the time is normal at this phase ;( I woke up 3 times last night for it.

AFM, everything has been going fine since my little fall last week. I did get an US for the first time since week 20, and I saw her face with her eyes open... we even saw her blink. It was surreal.

I am done with the nursery, and I am doing maternity photos tomorrow and a "baby sprinkle" this Saturday. Everything is coming to a close on what may very well be my last pregnancy and it is so bittersweet. I can honestly say I am one of those who hates being pregnant, but I am going to miss all of those little kicks. I am surprised I haven't felt hiccups yet this time!
  • @Aera11 woohoo ur princess is here congrats!! Sounds like u had just as much fun as me!! She's perfect!! We almost shared the same day :) hope ur feeling well and get to go home soon!!

@cseley321 please share photos of your nursery and shoot! I know how you feel because I complain all the time about pregnancy but when I think that I may never do this again it does make me sad.
  • @Hopeful_mom OMG what a birth story!! And congrats! It feels like such a rush when the baby is finally here and suddenly everything we've been waiting for is all worth it.

@Aera11 Congrats on your miracle!! Such great news in this week's thread :) I also had an unplanned c section so I know that feeling. I felt like my body didn't cooperate and each contraction was hurting my little boy (he had low heart rate with each pitocin contraction).

  • @cseley321 Omg it is so beautiful! I love it and baby will too! Did you paint yourself? If so you did an awesome job. Wish I was anywhere near completing ours but hubby insists on waiting after the shower to buy any more furniture.
  • @Aera11 congrats mama!!! She's beautiful
  • @safire3 I hired someone for the wall paint and chair rail :)
  • @Aera11 congrats Momma! She is beautiful and a great size. Sorry the induction didn’t work. Hope you get to go home today!

  • @hopeful_mom All I can say is WOW!  You are one hell of a trooper.  I would be livid that they didn’t have people on call to help you when you needed it.  Those induction drugs can make things even more intenseness and having it go on for so long  such a trooper.  I hope that in time and bonding with you absolutely beautiful little girl these memories will fade away for you.  So happy that you and little Shayla are safe.  She is absolutely priceless with those chubby cheeks, looks like she is having a bit of a spa day with those eye covers.  Lol.  Congratulations.

@aera11 another beautiful baby girl for team green!  For induction I’ve always heard of the balloon catheter thingy and the Pitocin but I had no idea about magnesium.  Whatever it is doesn’t sound fun.  Glad you were able to move forward with your c-section, and hope you heal quickly make sure and take extra care of yourself mama!  Aisleigh is beautiful and that bow is so stinkin’ cute, a little sleeping angel congrats mama.

@irisheye81 boo to the OR but those labor and delivery rooms sound really nice.  Mine looks like a straight up hospital, they definitely haven’t gotten on board with the “home feeling trend.”  I’m actually super bummed about it.  I wish I would have done more research in picking my OB practice/Hospital but at this point I’m going with the flow!

@sarcasticowl yay!  Welcome to 3rd trimester!!!!  Sorry your symptoms are so crummy thought, sounds miserable.  Please talk to your RE about the heartburn stuff.  Mine put me on zantac and it’s like heaven Tums or other on demand stuff did zip for me.   Good luck tomorrow at your GD test, don’t’ panic if you fail I failed mine but was fine for the 3hr I guess it has a really high false positive.  The baby shower sounds like so much fun but definitely a win-loose with hosting at your house.  I always try to tell myself others aren’t nearly as critical as I am of my home…but it never really sinks in.

@sarcaticowl & @safire3 Hormones and food is so real!  I have never been so upset about food, and when I’m hungry it’s like all reason leaves my body.  I’m glad I’m not the only one.  I keep hoping that I return to a normal human after this baby is born. I did see both of my neighbors last night so I must have not blacklisted myself in the neighborhood as I feared!

@safire3 its crazy how those moments sneak up on you especially around viability.  I always get this little weight lifted that I didn’t even know was there and then I just still feel like it’s not real and I can’t believe it.

@cseley321 I had no idea you could see them blink…was it one of those 3D ultrasounds?  I think it’s difficult to know any “last times” even when its miserable makes it bittersweet.  Sounds like you are on the ball with everything!  I’m so excited to have my nursey done though I think it will take a good few weeks until we are there.  The decals look so beautiful with your blanket I just love purple and pink together.  We have the same ikea dresser and we also have a grey chair and ottoman that are very similar!  Great taste ;)

  • Congratulations @Hopeful_mom and @Aera11!!! Such strong mommies!!!

For those peeing all the time and angry/randomly upset:
I pee all the time. Sometimes every hour. Maybe every other hour. Sometimes more than once an hour. I sat through an entire movie at the movie theater and didn't get up to pee once! I was so proud of myself but then needed to run to the bathroom right afterwards, didn't even wait for the after credits scene. TMI...I've learned that after I pee, if I shift positions or my weight from one side to the other, a little more pee comes out. LOL You gotta do whatever you gotta do.

Also, I randomly cry. Not just a tear or two but true sobbing. Saturday morning, I came downstairs to DH watching A Dog's Purpose so I started watching and there was this one crushing scene in the beggining and I started tearing up and asked for the tissue box and DH started laughing and then it was too late --- I was sobbing and couldn't stop. He left the room laughing so hard that he started tearing up. I yelled at him, asking why he'd do this to his pregnant wife and then yelled at him to leave the movie on. Love the hormones.

I'm sitting in the OB waiting room, waiting for them to squeeze me in for an ultrasound. 4 weeks ago, I measured 6 weeks ahead in size, and then 2 weeks ago they said I was in the very high range of normal amniotic fluid. Yikes. Today I'm measuring 3 weeks ahead (and I had to have a very unfun exam for a possible yeast infection, and she also checked my cervix and I am NOT dilated! Yay) so they're doing another ultrasound to make sure the amniotic fluid is still in the normal range.

I was afraid I was having real contractions on Sunday so I made sure our hospital bag was packed, so all ready on that front!! Now I just need to really clean up the baby's room.

@2MomsHoping the hospital just has a REALLY good US machine. It wasn't 3D/4D, but the level of detail is awesome. At a certain angle you could see her hair too! The US machine at my OB office is no where near that advanced. And thanks for the compliments! The rest of my house is so bland, but I tried to do it up for the kids' rooms!

@jr102217 I feel your pain on the pee thing. TMI, but it's embarrassing to think about how many times I thought I was done.... bit then peed on my hand a little when shifting to wipe.
  • @Aera11 congrats on the baby girl!! Hoping your recovery is going smoothly.

@Hopeful_mom  any word on when you will be going home??

    @cseley321 loving the nursery!

@sarcasticowl  sorry about your symptoms. The sciatica and carpal tunnel
are no joke. My carpal tunnel is awful.

@2MomsHoping  I almost cried for you. Broken pizza is sad!!!

@jr102217 lol to your DH laughing. Men!!!

@safire3  are you feeling better? Glad you are listening to your body and putting yourself first!

Yes to peeing allllllll the time. There are nights that I go, then walk back to bed, and immeadiately turn around to go back to the bathroom. And it's not like I pee 3 drops.

met with the pediatrician today. Did you ladies interview more than 1? This one came highly recommended and I fell in love instantly. He reminds me of my RE, who I just adore, in fact, they're friends and each other's patients (pediatrician's wife got pregnant with RE, RE takes his own kids to the pediatrician) plus they're both good friends with my cousin, and my other cousins all take their kids there too. I kind of feel bad for not interviewing anyone else lol!
  • @coco305 I asked my OB for a reference and I am pleased with the pedi she recommended to me and will be taking my upcoming LO as well. I didn't interview any others though.
  • We didn’t even interview any, since Abigail came so early we didn’t get a chance. We just randomly picked one from our clinic for her first appt who had availability when we needed to go, knowing it’s really to change within the office but we were really happy with who we saw!
  • @travelingcouple How was your appointment with the accupuncturist? I'm really curious about that.

@cseley321 ahhh You're not the only one. =/ pregnancy problems! And pretty nursery!

@coco305 I only interviewed one because he was the one available for that scheduled meeting and we liked him. I actually picked the practice over a specific pediatrician so that 1) it's connected to my health/hospital system, 2) it's a practice with multiple doctors so they have a good rotation and system for off-hours emergencies, and 3) it's close to our house.

@safire3 I hope you are able to relax and enjoy your shower!

@sarcasticowl @2MomsHoping This was about two months ago, but I got so sad at DH for not bringing cookies from the store. It just got in my head that I wanted and needed cookies. A few days later, I bought two packs of oreos. I'm glad you eventually got the foods you wanted!

@sarcasticowl Yay welcome! Hope others can help you clean your house!

@irisheyes81 I really liked our birthing classes too. We hear and read so much from so many different sources that it's good to get it in an educational setting so you can make informed decisions. How's the peeing going? The struggle is real!

AFM, I've begun my weekly OB follow-ups and another ultrasound, which was apparently a BPP or biophysical profile. Ah, the anxiety. TW and rant in spoiler:
First, I thought I had a yeast infection yesterday morning so they did a wet prep at my OB follow-up today. I was so anxious after my cervical check-up in the hospital back in April that I was immediately tense on the exam table, but surprisingly, it wasn't so bad. It still hurt, but not as bad as I had expected. Since she was up there, she also checked to see if I was dilated and I'm not! yay! LOL Also, lab results came back and no yeast nor bacterial infection.
Second, this whole measuring big and having a lot of amniotic fluid is giving me so much anxiety:
    • At week 30, OB measured me using the tape and I measured at 36 weeks.
    • At week 32, I had an ultrasound and they measured my amniotic fluid at 24.5. Normal is between 5 and 25.
    • At week 34w2d (yesterday), OB measured me at 37 1/2 weeks, and ultrasound measured my amniotic fluid at 30. =/
Sonographer said that baby's organs look okay and she noted the baby's mouth opening and closing. I asked her what usually happens when the number is higher than the normal 25. She said, if someone was 37 weeks, the OB might discuss inducing early!
The OB came in and talked about the results. Having 30 as my amniotic level is not great but she didn't seem super concerned. I felt concerned because it's over the normal range!!! I'm pretty sure the term she used was that it was in the "mild" range. She said they want to monitor me weekly so I'll get a BPP next week. It'll just be another ultrasound to check on baby and amniotic fluid as she doesn't think a non-stress test is needed at the moment.
Of course, I googled what it means to have an amniotic fluid level greater than 25 and there could be all sorts of causes from gestational diabetes (which I have) to a chromosomal issue...which made me upset. We didn't do any genetic testing - for various reasons - and I argued with DH over it. And then I told him to not let me google anything anymore.  I ended up acting angry and petty the rest of the evening, and he tried to comfort me. I know a lot of pregnant women complain about their partners not doing enough and DH just really does as much as he can, so I'm very grateful for him.

The anxiety is still there so I'm trying to concentrate on what I CAN do, like cleaning up the baby's room and putting stuff away (goodness - all your nurseries look clean and ready!!) and making sure I transition all my tasks and open items at work.

On a good note, the sonographer pointed out baby's hair! LOL @cseley321 mine has hair too!

Prenatal yoga is on my calendar for this Friday, and I'm planning to get one more prenatal massage this Sunday afternoon!
  • All the babies :kissing_heart: Love it! Congrats to all you ladies, it seems like everyone exploded all at once!

I've been lurking but just have had a hard time keeping up with life so crazy lately but thought I'd try and jump in while I still can!

39 weeks tomorrow and uber uncomfortable. Having really constant contractions but only 70% effaced, no dilation at my appointment today. He's head down and has been for awhile. I've had contractions pretty consistently since 28 weeks but in the last few days they've stepped up, really really hoping that they turn into something more and soon! My doctor will probably watch me go past my due date and induce sometime around 41 weeks but I really don't want to get that late! I've been having acid reflux since the second trimester and have been able to manage it until about the last week. Now it doesn't matter what or when I eat, every night I'm waking up to acid reflux shooting up my throat and into my nose. The person who said "sleep while you can" when youre pregnant obviously has never been pregnant lol

We are as ready as we'll be for baby, nursery ready (pictures in the spoilers!), bags packed, and trying to wrap stuff up at work. It's been really hard, my team is transitioning to a new team/new boss right now so I'm appealing to 2 bosses and trying to get everything ready, I think i'm almost as ready to to get away from the constant stress of work right now as I am to meet this little guy.

Baby is super healthy though and still decently active so while I might be uncomfortable I'm still trying to soak up the moments of him being in my belly. I cry when I think that I won't get to feel that with him again, I've loved that part!

Pics of the nursery, thankfully we finished before he got here! Wasn't sure we would!

  • @jr102217 I do the potty shift too!  A little more always comes out.  Also I don’t think I could watch a dogs purpose on a good day before pregnancy.  I’m such a sap for any kind of animal movie.  Hope the ultrasound went ok.  From what I’ve heard the amniotic fluid level can vary a lot even within the same day depending on mom’s hydration level so even if you’re a smidge above the normal range if everything else is ok it makes sense to me that your OB is letting things run their course awhile.  It’s so hard to not let Dr. Google run a muck and with IF baggage I think most of us in this group are a little worse than most about calculating worst case scenarios.  You’re doing all you can do to take care of yourself and your baby.  Focusing on getting ready is the best thing you can do for yourself to prepare and distract.  Win-Win!

@coco305 sounds like you have great recommendations and a good “click” with your pediatrician for me when I know I know and I don’t have a problem with not interviewing more if I’m feeling good about something.  Besides we all have too much to do on our to-do lists I would go with it.

@loverin sounds like you are getting so close.  Your nursery is gorgeous.  I love your paris print I have one favorited on Etsy from the same collection but a different city, and we are doing a library wall too!  The painted shiplap really adds personality and makes it look like a professional designer came in.  Great work!

AFM, I woke up from a nightmare this morning I wont go into because it had ALL the triggers, it seem so real and I woke up really panicked.  I’m super proud of myself because instead of totally flipping out I talked myself down and said ok it was a dream and started talking to baby and asking if he/she was ok.  (not shocking I didn’t get a response).  So I got up got up drank some cold water and ate some semi-stale candy I found in the back of the panty and sure enough in a few minutes little one was doing flips and I felt reassured all was well. It seemed totally out of the blue but yesterday I got our first notice that someone bought something off our registry and I think it triggered a little what-if things don’t work out baggage.  Here’s the real miracle I just kind of accepted that was what it was, let it go and went back to bed and actually fell asleep.  I’m an insomniac who dwells on stuff and runs it over and over and over again in their mind.  I’ve never been able to just move on like that before. My life would be so much easier if I could do this all the time.

  • @jr102217 The appt went very well! We did this when I was pregnant with my DS and the pressure points were a Godsend during my labor with him. So she was refreshing my DH and Doula's minds about where to press and what points are for which purposes. I had all back labor with DS so it was really nice to have that counterpressure on my back with pressure points. I definitely recommend it if you have the time to schedule it!

@loverin Omg your nursery is gorgeous!!! <3

@2MomsHoping Ugh I'm sorry about the dream. That is awful. I had those earlier on and they are not fun. It's so hard not to have anxiety about things being ok. Even this morning, baby girl went 40 mins without moving and I was poking and prodding her SO HARD until she finally moved. I think it's so hard to not worry.
  • @TravelingCouple my husband makes fun of me cause I poke this little guy all the time just because it makes me feel better to feel him move! Must be annoying for them but they'll deal

@2MomsHoping so sorry about the nightmare. I can't believe i haven't had more but they are the worst! Then your emotions are all reved up and it's hard to go back to sleep. I had a dream my husband divorced me because he didn't want to keep buying King sized sheets  As funny as it is now, I woke up really upset and couldn't go back to sleep! And that wasn't even a triggering type of dream. Good for you for calming yourself down after, you  should be super proud of yourself! After all we've done to get here that's a great place to be when you can overcome your emotions in the middle of the night when sleep tends to make things foggier and harder to not react to.

  • @loverin your nursery looks like it's straight out of a magazine.  Gorgeous!
  • @loverin Your nursery is absolutely insane! Perfection in every way. I especially love the array of books and your feature wall!

@Hopeful_mom Congrats on your baby girl! Hope you are enjoying your bonding time with her. I’ve never heard about that heartburn and baby’s hair thing until I got asked a lot after my son arrived. It’s a myth! My son has a ton of hair and I had no heartburn so there you go.

  • @hopeful_mom pretty much all babies lose weight right after birth, just keep an eye on it with your pediatrician I’m sure all will be ok and the jaundice will get better.  I know it’s super scary for it to happen with your own child but just keep plugging along you got this.  Everyone says the first two weeks are the hardest.  So funny about the heartburn I’ve been joking that my little one was going to come out with shoulder length hair, sometimes I just wonder how these old wives tales get started.  I’m so happy for you.  You have been through so much to get here.  Drink in that little face and baby snuggles, be kind to yourself, whenever you can let that worry go and try to take a moment to just enjoy your little miracle.  Hugs.
