Has anyone decided on what they’ll dress the LO in to come home from the hospital/birth center yet? I thought it would be fun to share photos to help us all get excited!
I’m thinking this outfit I picked up last weekend, we have tons of hand me down options from my son but I felt like I wanted him to have something new of his very own lol. The sweater is magnetic closure which I thought was genius!
We are Team Green (as we always have been) so we decided with this one, once we know if it's boy or girl, DH will take the kids to look an outfit for their new brother or sister.
I really want one of those personalized outfits from Etsy (like the one below) since we’re keeping the name a secret until he’s born. But they’re so darn expensive so I’m still on the hunt. This one is 50 bucks for the whole set
I was actually surprised I didn’t receive many newborn dresses at my shower yesterday- not that I’m complaining, people generally stuck to the registry pretty well. So now I get to buy exactly what I want!
How accurate were doctors in estimating baby’s size before you all had yours? I’m assuming I’ll need to bring a newborn and 0-3 mo outfit just in case, right?
@summermama18 I don’t really remember what they were estimating my son to be, but I think they told me he’d be around 7. He was 7 lbs 10 oz and newborn clothes were kind of huge on him for the first couple weeks. Current baby is measuring 50% so far and I’m guessing he’ll be about the same as my first, so I’m only planning to bring newborn size to the hospital.
@summermomma18 DS was 9lbs 5 oz and still fit in newborn for his coming home outfit. I think in general, you'll be ok with newborn. But just in case your brand runs small, 0-3 won't hurt!
I am thinking this one, but waiting for it to go on sale, lol. It's gonna be hot in our house.
Our boy will go home in the same outfit his brothers both wore. It's nothing special, a white footie sleeper with frogs on it (we were team green the first two times) but it has lots of sentimental value.
Totally spent $45 on Etsy, @ashbub714! it's my first so I couldn't resist! Once we get home if it's hot we'll take the pants off. I got 0-3, so it may be a little big, but given how $$$ it was I wanted to use it a bit more.
I *REALLY* want this outfit off of Etsy. I’m keeping his name a secret too but yeah $45 for an outfit he will wear only a couple times is not worth it.
@hillbillywife damn Etsy! It's so cute. I'm hoping because it's a 0-3 we can get a little use out of it. The pants too, since they can go with other onesies. And the hat when it's chilly later on? This is how I talked myself into buying it
Newborn on the left, 0-3m on the right. I'm really hoping the newborn fits since they was the outfit we picked out together after the anatomy scan and had wrapped up to find out the sex. Bonnets are hand made by a friend of mine who gifted us a whole bunch of them when we found out this baby is a girl (she used to sell them)
Both of my kids were 8lbs 2oz when they were born and both wore newborn clothes for about a month. Just for comparison. I’m only going to pack a newborn outfit.
Right now we have one newborn outfit picked out , But she might have 2 new onesies that I'll have to choose from one that says "Hello world I'm Addison" and one that says "baby sister Addison" it just depends on if they get here in time.
+1 to the newborn size. DS was a stocky 9lb boy and we only brought 0-3 mo. clothes which ended up being very saggy on him. He was in NB size comfortably for a couple weeks at least. @summermama18 I was guesstimated a 7.5-8 lb baby... again, the kid was 9 lbs. NB clothing was still preferable at that size, though, so if they're not estimating an 11 lb baby you should be pretty safe with NB.
Found these guys online and got them for DS and newbie DS. The onesie will be massive, but they're just so cute, especially since DS and I nearly used Better Together by Jack Johnson as our wedding song but switched it up at the last minute. *on my phone, so sorry if it's big*
Loving all the outfits! Starting to feel like maybe i should put in more effort. DS went home with just a onesie since it was hot and i was thinking of keeping it that simple again. It will at least be new rather than a hand me down from his brother.
I had been Planning on just a cozy baby footie but if it is hot I bought the twins and ds1 these cute shorts and may have to put them on their cute baby legs. I bought name bracelets for them (coincidentally the day I went into labor!) and I’m hoping they’ll be here in time
@summermama18 Our DD was 10 lb 7 oz, so she never fit into newborn clothes or diapers. It was a total surprise as the doctor estimated about 7 or 8 lbs, and I did not have GD. I would bring a 0 to 3 month outfit, just in case!
The outfits you all chose are so cute! I have not quite decided yet. Thinking we might do the outfit we bought below. Although @ashbub714 , I love your idea of the name on the outfit! We are keeping the name a surprise too, and that is a fun way to announce it. But like you @wildtot , I will probably keep it simple.
I was going to do a footsie pajama however I got this from my boss and his wife at my baby shower and am in love with it!! I'm not sure how big her feet will be so I have 2 different sizes socks. I need to get a nb outfit as a back up just in case since this is a 0-3m. Close up picture of wording
These are all so cute. Last time we had a gown and matching hat that said Hello that DH picked out. He wanted to reuse it, but I didn’t, so we got these (off Etsy-$56 later. Ugh). No one knows that it’s a boy or the name we have picked, so this will be how we introduce him!
Oh my goooooosh. I just found this and I think I might need to splurge and spend the $30... Ziggy's side of the boys' room is kind of a mash up of southwestern and tribal, so this just fits too, too perfectly!
I ordered this for her going home outfit from a seller on Etsy. I packed other NB outfits if this is too big.
I also ordered this name tag to announce her name. I'll have her wrapped up in the floral Copper Pearl swaddle blanket I ordered and stick this name tag on for a picture to post on social media/send to family. I ordered a gold one with Sloane printed on it and a blank pink one in case we change her name lol. That way I can just write it on there once we decide.

Ugh, you guys! I was happy with a couple super cute outfits I already have but now I want to get all Etsy crazy. Here are the two options I have that I was thinking about:
Now I'm eyeing this on Etsy
Also I love the hello world personalized outfits like this one but it looks like we won't be deciding on a name till she's here so that won't work.
@runsomewhere that deer outfit is unbelievably cute, and the first etsy option is also adorable! I would have a hard time choosing. Seriously love that first Etsy one though.
@SmashJam I love that Etsy one so much and I would totally put baby girl in it all the time! I also know that we don't need any more outfits, and it's $40 for the romper, sash and headband. Buuuuuuut it's so cute and this is likely our last baby.....
@comealongponds if you don't mind, where did you get the dress to the right? I have been looking for something similar but I can't find anything in newborn sizes!
Not sure why I just thought to mention this. But all of you mama's looking for personalized outfits without the etsy price tag may try to check out Jane.com It's not etsy by any means but they have a baby and maternity category that you can find some good deals on. Right now they have some baby boy outfits that are pretty cute and say "new to the crew" etc. If your not looking for something with their name. I literally can get myself in trouble shopping jane and can't tell you how many things I've purchased from there so I can attest they're legit! Lol

I am having a horrible time picking this time around.
