  • @MouseMama817 that sounds like so much fun for your daughter! :)

I think I have mentioned this before, but one of my best friends is getting married in a couple of months and I’m a bridesmaid. I ordered the non-returnable dress about three weeks before I found out I was pregnant. Thankfully, it’s super flowy so fits my belly just fine. The problem is that when I got measured for the dress, my chest was a 32. Now, it’s a 36. I have an alteration appointment tomorrow and I’m praying this lady can work a miracle so I can get it zipped and wear it!
  • @firsttimespartanmom keep in mind a couple months out is a ways to go. Have you thought about getting a second round of alterations closer to the wedding? A bridesmaid was 9 months pregnant for my wedding and we out it off as long as possible just to be sure! Good luck on alterations!
  • @ftm_jen yeah I will definitely have to do a second round. I’m taking it in today to see if there’s any way she can make it work or if I have to start over with a new dress. I’ll be about 25 weeks for the wedding so I’ll need to get it done closer to that so they can measure this giant belly correctly!!
  • We are having solar panels installed today. The installation crew showed up about an hour ago. It's now pouring down rain, thundering & lightening, and there is a chance of hail. -_-

  • I just realized that my doctor has never made me give a urine sample. I’m not quite sure what they test urine for at each appointment, but when I was pregnant last time (and had a different doctor) I’m pretty sure I had to give a urine sample at each appointment. Is this weird?

  • @BabyBoyH92016 I had to give one as part of my initial 12 week blood work, but haven’t had to give one since.
  • @BabyBoyH92016 I have had to do one each time for both pregnancies. I think they routinely check for protein and sugar in the urine.

  • @runningyogimama   Ugh. Do people think they're being helpful when they say things like this?!

  • @runningyogimama Ha! Nice. My mom inquired for the longest time as to the amount of babies in my belly since she didn't remember me "showing so soon the last time." I kept having to reassure her that, "Yes, there is only one in there. Yes, I'm positive, thanks." Those comments really feel great, don't they?  :D
  • @wannaflickone sounds like a solid plan. Hope the flight goes well!
  • @wannaflickone Your son doesn't like movies?! What kind of child are you raising?!  :D just kidding. I can't wait to hear all about your trip! Good luck on the flight.

  • @wannaflickone hope the flight goes well. Our last flight with DS was not so great. We purposefully limited his tech exposure, so when I tried to show him how to do games on a tablet he couldn't figure out how to do it and it was too loud on the plane for him to hear the videos. He was too excited to sleep, so it was a long flight.

  • @hollyeva A prenatal yoga class sounds like so much fun! I've started to do basic exercises again, and my body is SO SORE from doing the bare minimum of squats, pushups, etc. First tri. really took it out of me.

My random thing: Am I the only one irrationally excited about the new BMBs being added to TB? I don't feel like the new kid on the block anymore. :p Yay pregnancy progress!
  • @lurvleybunchococonuts yes plain so not as gross as it could have been but definitely not appetizing! She also started dipping her left over blueberries from breakfast in the ketchup too.  I don't get it but if it means she eats and isn't a bear because shes hungry when I'm exhausted, I'll take it.  Toddlers have weird taste buds though .
  • Freaking out a little, though I know everything is probably fine...

I had my boys out in the garage playing (it's their favorite place to play for some reason) and one of them pulled a metal step-ladder off the wall (about three feet above me), directly onto my lower spine, right above my hips (I was sitting bent over at the time).  It hurts, but I'm not worried about me, I'm afraid for baby.

I've read it would take the kind of trauma you would sustain in a car accident to hurt baby and that they're well protected in there, so everything is probably fine, right?  It didn't hit my stomach and I'm not cramping or bleeding, just in pain.

I can't go in to see the doctor or go to the ER (which feels like overkill anyway) because I have no one to watch the kids, so I'm hoping this is a non-issue aside from some bruising and soreness.

  • @mojiejo I'm so sorry that happened and would probably feel the exact same way you do. If you think going in to get checked would help ease your mind, take the kids with you. Have you called your OB and explained/asked about coming by? Ours was totally fine when I had to bring both of mine with me one day.

@offtoneverland we are still waiting for him to think tv is cool. He will be 2 in August and has absolutely no interest. We survived the flight! Almost missed it, but thank goodness for an amazing ticket agent. He got our luggage tags printed with 30 seconds to spare. DD was awesome on the flight and kept herself entertained. DS was a hot mess, but was quiet. We just had to work overtime entertaining him. I thought I packed enough snacks to keep him busy, but he had already eaten all his favorite things by take off. Ha! Disneyland was so great. I loved watching DD's face as she saw her favorite people. She was so star struck.

  • @MojieJo When I was pg with ds and about 20 weeks along, I got into a car accident. My car was totaled and he was just fine. I was bruised from my seat belt, but kiddo was fine. I would bet you are fine. You can always call your Dr and see what they say. They really are very well protected, especially from the back. Just try to take it easy and maybe ice or heat the sore area to keep the muscles from tightening.
  • @wannaflickone @wildrainbow Thanks for the input and reassurance, ladies.

I haven't called my OB yet since there's nothing going on other than some back pain and bruising right now, but I definitely will if things change or get worse!

I'm sure I'm just worrying for nothing.  I just needed to hear from other mamas that it takes more than this to hurt the little guy so I can get my anxiety under control.

  • @MojieJo - given how early in pregnancy we are right now, I highly doubt baby could've been hurt. If it was a blow to the tummy, I would definitely say go in but in the back the concern is minimal. However, if you're worried, you might want to call your ob and discuss it for peace of mind or additional action.

  • @vrj0522 Thank you!  I figured that with it being from the back (and right on my spine, which surely added more protection) that it probably wouldn't have hurt the baby.  My anxiety just gets out of control and I needed to hear it from someone else.

  • @MojieJo ouch! I bet that hurt! I am sure baby is all safe and sound but I agree with pp that I’m sure your doc would be happy to check you out kids in tow if you’re feeling anxious.
