  • Ahh @Aera11 so exciting!!

Man it's getting real, so many outside babies are coming so soon!!!!

@Holls214 baby's head is down 50% effaced but not dialated, so I'm thinking it'll maybe be a slow process...I know inductions aren't always fast so I'm mentally preparing to be there a while
  • @Aera11 hopefully it will move right along. Are you planning on getting an epidural? They can also give you something to help you sleep they told me if it takes a while so you don’t exhaust yourself. I ended up not needing it though but it’s an option. :)
TTC 4 years. 7 failed IUI's with either Clomid, Femara and/or Trigger Shots. Started IVF journey in February 2017. Polyps removed in May. 1st IVF Transfer September 26th. BFP. Expected due date 6/14/18. Baby boy born 5/25/18 at 6 lb 9 oz. My bundle of joy.
  • @Holls214
i took advantage of the med that helps you sleep since the first attempt at induction  by softening the cervix started at 6 pm and went to 6 AM! It was the only way I got any rest...but I had also been in the hospital for two days at that point, so I was already a little exhausted. It's hard to sleep with all the monitors beeping and whatnot; baby and me were on continuous monitoring for the first 24 hours.

Thank you!! @Holls214 originally I was thinking I'd play the epidural by ear but after the cervical check today I was like, uhhhh I think I'll be getting one haha. I'll def ask about the sleeping meds if things are moving slowly.
  • @Aera11 yeah that cervical check is no joke! Best wishes tomorrow. Can’t wait to see your little babes!

  • @hopeful_mom and @Aera11 good luck with your inductions! How exciting :)

AFM, Wednesday night I fell down :/ I didn't fall directly on my belly or anything, but the next morning I called the OB office and they said I need to go to L&D anyway to get monitored. Thankfully everything was fine! I really should have gone right after it happened though :(
  • Aera11Aera11 member
Yeah that cervical check is no joke!
  • @cseley321 Aww I'm sorry, that must've been scary! I'm so glad you're ok.

Had my weekly check-up today. Dr said I'm 1cm and 60% effaced. I know this could mean nothing and it could still be a few weeks! But it's exciting to know things are moving along :)

I can't believe it's JUNE!!! Birth month! Ah!!

  • @hopeful_mom sorry to hear that baby is being stubborn but glad you are able to rest for now.  The pain doesn’t sound like fun and I have heard the induction medication makes it even more intense.  You can do this!

@aera11 wow baby day for you too!  Man I missed way to much by not checking the bump last night! Good luck tonight hopefully things wont be too long for you, of course I know your make it though and have that wonderful baby at the end :)  I know your running around like crazy but try to get a nap in this afternoon (if you can turn off that adrenalin).

@cseley312 that relaxin really messes with coordination doesn’t it??! I’ve almost fallen down my back stairs so many times I refuse to take them anymore and just walk from the front of the house.  I’m glad it was nothing serious and you and baby are a-ok.  Nothing like a dry run of the trip to L&D.   I probably wouldn’t have gone straight to L&D either unless I fell on my belly but I’m still glad you called and they checked you out.

@travelingcouple yay things are progressing.  This whole 3rd trimester outside babies thing is just blowing my mind.  I feel like every time I check the board I’m on the edge of my seat waiting to see these beautiful babies.  Makes my heart sing.  Happy birth month :)

P.S. I’m going to start a separate thread about breast pumps.  Finally called my insurance to see what was covered.  Kinda expected to only have a couple options to pick from but it seems like the world is my oyster as long as I’m willing to pay for some upgrades.  My mind is spinning and I don’t know how to narrow down the choices.

  • @2MomsHoping we got a breast pump through insurance for free but opted to rent the hospital grade pump after hearing how much better it is to use in the beginning to get things going. It has a super strong motor and is only like $20 a month. I would ask about it for the first couple months too in addition to getting the free pump through insurance.

  • @holls214 I like the idea of renting.  Maybe I'll just rent and then decide on what to get if I can stick with it and maybe have a better idea at that point of what I want/need.  The more I read on breast feeding the more I'm in awe of anyone who pulls it off. To do a rental did you just ask your hospital when you were there delivering or was it something set up with your OB ahead of time?

  • @2MomsHoping I had no idea about renting until after giving birth. They supplied the hospital pump while there and mentioned renting a pump so we did because it was so cheap. I would ask your doctor if it’s an option and how much your insurance covers. Sounds like a good idea to try it out before choosing.

  • @cseley321 I'm glad all is well. That's super scary.
@Aera11 good luck, it's almost go time!
    @Hopeful_mom how's it going?????
  • This thread is super exciting!

@Hopeful_mom I hope everything is going faster for you today and wishing you an easy delivery. Can’t wait to see your LO!

@Aera11 I hope everything is going smooth for you today. Best of luck!

@TravelingCouple I can’t believe you are so close! It’s exciting to know your body is starting to prepare!

@cseley321 so happy you and baby are ok. Please be careful and take it easy. Balance is definitely not our friend right now and sometimes we forget that we can’t do everything we used to do anymore.

@2MomsHoping I felt the same about the registry. Didn’t want to pick cheap stuff that I know I wouldn’t want just because it’s on the registry and I would feel bad returning gifts. Since DH insisted that we put everything on the registry I just had to go with it and there many more affordable items on there than expensive ones.
I haven’t gotten far with my breast pump search yet. I called my insurance and they gave me a list of other companies that I have to go through. Apparently they will then decide if they will pay for you to rent of purchase a pump.
  • @Aera11 good luck! Hopefully things go quickly for you. Keep us posted. Will be thinking about you.

  • @aera11 good luck! Hopefully you are able to get some rest/sleep tonight. So excited for you!!!
  • LOL @Aera11 glad you got to eat. I'm afraid that once the process gets started that they won't let me eat! I've heard several stories of friends who stuff their faces before heading to L&D.
    @Hopeful_mom how are you doing?
    Yay @TravelingCouple!

@cseley321 glad you and baby are okay!!!

@2MomsHoping I'll check out your thread! I had made my pump decision 2 months ago but just found another vendor/company that can provide the one I want for less and that had me running around doing more research. I guess I'll take more choices over having only a few crappy options.
Also the registry dilemma is real. I ended putting a mix of stuff in terms of price ranges, but if I wanted something specific, like the stroller/jogger, I put it on there and figured if no one got it, we'd get it on our own with the completion discount. Well, lo and behold, it was one of the first purchased items! My BiLs split it and MiL brought it down for the shower. For my breast pump bag, I put a few options on their but didn't get the most expensive one. I plan to order it on my own and see which one I like best and return the ones I don't want.
