@coffee-saur Hopefully she just ate something bad! At least she threw up outside!! That stuff can be nasty when they’re sick.

  • @coffee-saur my elderly dog was acting like that last year...kept throwing up all day, and eventually stopped eating and was shaking and cowering. We are pretty sure he had swallowed a chunk of a bully stick to try to keep it away from his little sister. Sigh. Vet gave him some nausea meds and he was back to normal soon! We also don't feed our dogs when they throw up, so we skip a meal or 2 and then give them a little canned pumpkin while their stomach is healing.  Our younger dog gets anxiety diarrhea/vomiting from being boarded, so we are sadly used to it. Hope your dog bounces back quickly!

+1 for no feeding during this time

She's acting more with it now, and I went and put up her food dish. She's acting interested in DD's afternoon snack, which is an improvement. Thanks for the advice! Should I keep her off food till tomorrow morning, or just this evening? Then give her pumpkin?

  • @coffee-saur that's a bit up to guess work/what you think is best for your pup, IMO, since you haven't seen a vet. When our BT was sick, it was no food that night, then a small portion of chicken and rice for the next day or two (super bland food), then back to dog food.
Maybe @kiwi2628 would have some advice!
  • @coffee-saur if you think she is getting better, you could try a little pumpkin. But like @chopchop25 said, it's guess work, and if she isn't better tomorrow, consider calling the vet. We normally progress from skipped meals to pumpkin to half pumpkin/half food to full food. But I believe doodles (younger dog is a goldendoodle) have pretty sensitive stomachs so that's why we are pretty careful about reintroducing food.
  • I'm unsure what to try, or when because one of her symptoms is being uninterested in her food. She usually gets two scoops a day, one in the morning one in the evening, and she didn't eat her morning food till about noon, and then not even all of it. We've been teaching her to sit and wait while we put her food in her bowl (Definitely a work in progress), then she'll just gobble it all down, so it's very unlike her. She is being more active now though, which is nice.  :(  poor puppy!

This is her picture from the animal shelter. She's Lab and something else but they weren't sure, but we were thinking something hound. Her bark has a definite baying, howl to it.  :)

The kids are also trying to drive me insane. It's been a loooong day.

@coffee-saur i know you said she's been sick which is why she probably ist eating much.
Might not be entirely related but MIL has a German short haired pointer, very high active dog, she wasn't eating all of her food so we called the vet and they said If she isn't getting enough exercise and energy out she won't eat because she doesn't need the extra energy from food but she's always interested in people food lol

Our Boston is OBSESSED with food. The only time she stopped eating was during severe neck pain, and wouldn't even eat her Cheerios then (a morning treat for both pups.)
  • Our goldendoodle sometimes will stop eating when the older dog goes back to stay with my parents (I think she misses him) . She has never really been super into food, which is weird to me lol.
  • @coffee-saur glad your pup is feeling better!
  • Glad pup is doing better!
  • Can I BF on a Thursday? I've been on hold with my energy company for 15 minutes when I called right as they opened. I called last week to transfer my service to the new house and they told me I had to pay my balance of $44. OK, no big deal. Paid it. Now they say I have an overdue balance and if I don't pay it by the due date, they'll send it to collection. My supposed balance: $500. WTF?!

  • @krzyriver My kid’s pediatrician office told me not to pay a bill until I heard from them because I asked about it.  I just heard from them in the form of another bill with a late fee and threat to send it to collections if I don’t pay immediately. I’m a little pissed but it’s only $15 and I don’t have time to fight over the $5 late fee so I’m just going to pay it, but $500?!? Hope you get it straightened out soon!!

  • @purplegoldfish2 Apparently it's a true balance! We've been checking our balance on their app, which has been wrong I guess. I told them I'd pay $20 every other month and they said that's fine, it won't affect service at my new house or my credit score. Whatever.
