@Mack2342 Oh my, I don't know how I'd feel about donor eggs either. Not sure your age or background...maybe they are just trying to give as many options as possible.
TTC #1 since April 2015 June 2016 - CP 2017 - Medicated Cycles & IUI's IVF w/ PGS - January 2018 FET #1 - April 2018 - BFN ERA Cycle May / June 2018 ERA Biopsy June 2018 ~ Results: receptive (no change) FET #2 - July 2018 - BFP Beta #1 - 137 Beta #2 - 410 U/S #1 7wk1d - HB 144 U/S #2 9w1d HB 166 Anatomy Scan 1st 11/2/18 2nd AS 11/19 EDD March 28, 2019 Baby Girl born 3/26/19
@kristimh80 they are giving me all my options and they know my hang up with IVF. I will be 43 in two weeks. I had natural pregnancy with my son and delivered him at age 40. Followed by 3 losses one of which we know was chromosomally abnormal but due to two sperm fertilizing the egg. ( 3 of my pregnancies were natural and one through IUI) So it had two set of male chromosomes from DH and one set from me. RE give me about 2% Higher success from what we are doing now which is IUI. For me that’s not enough of a chance to spend the money considering we have one child. My fear is that we spend all that and still come home with no baby and then I take that money away from my son. RE said we would have a greater chance with donor eggs because they are screened and much younger than mine. It is more costly to use donor eggs too. I’m just not sure that is something we can do. I told my DH yesterday that I’m always going to wonder what if we would have just done it.
@Mack2342 Awe I totally get where you are coming from. That's why I stopped IUI's as well, the odds weren't high enough to keep spending a couple grand a month. That and the constant heartache and roller coaster isn't easy. I wish you the best of luck!! I know IVF isn't an easy option for anyone. We took months off after IUI's until I was comfortable with that option. Plus side with it is you can have embryos tested and avoid any chromosome issues. Luckily, you know you can get pregnant with IUI's...so that gives me a lot of hope for you!!!

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment? Vitamins/supplements?): baby aspirin, BCP, prenatals, vitamin D Rants/Raves: I am tired of nausea and vomiting on BCP! Better this morning but first two days were terrible! I am really worried about next cycle when I do the oral Estrace since I've heard that can cause nausea and vomiting too. My stomach is super sensitive to meds. Questions for the group:
GTKY: Any plans for the upcoming holiday? Haven't figured it out yet but DH gets Friday off too so we might plan a day trip with DD.
@Mack2342 relating to what you posted. For us, it took the five rounds of IVF to get any embryos and I remember thinking by like the 3rd round, what am I doing putting my body through this when odds for my age are so incredibly low? It was a tough decision to continue or not continue. And obviously in retrospect I'm glad I was stubborn enough to do that 5th round but there is no way to know when you're going into it how many times it will take or if it will even work (as I sit here nauseated prepping for FET that isn't 100%). Our RE recommended donor eggs to us too and we just weren't comfortable with it but it's different for everyone and such a personal decision. I agree with PP, it's good to know you can get pregnant with IUI's, I would think that's a positive sign. And also the natural conception and delivery at age 40 (my DD was natural too at age 39) so I think that bodes well for you. Sending you lots of positivity and I hope you guys can come up with a plan that you both feel good about, whatever that is.
@kristimh and @Momifbysea thank you for your words of encouragement. I’ve read a few studies that the more cycles for IVF you do at older age the more success. I recently read this. But the cost to do multiple cycles is something we def couldn’t do. Now if we move to a country where it’s covered I’m in lol. But that’s not happening anytime soon.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment? Vitamins/supplements?): PNV, Vit D, CoQ10, baby aspirin, IVF protocol meds Rants/Raves: Well, I'm going to trigger tonight at 9pm for my retrieval Friday at 8am! I can't believe I made it...it's been a rough road with juggling child care coverage, extra tests/procedures (repeat SIS, endo scratch), shots-shots-shots!, bruises/bleeding, reordered meds not arriving at all &/or on time, learning that they would convert my IVF to IUI if I didn't have at least 3 follies (only started with 6!), veins hiding (needing to be stuck in 3 places & then taken from my hand OUCH!), fluid in my ute from repeat SIS, jerk ovaries that hide, poor response to stims/slow growers...I really lost faith that I'd make it to this point! I think I'm still in shock and need to process it all. I'll just need to review my notes on how to mix the trigger shot for later. Questions for the group: Anyone else have sore boobs/nipples when the stimmed for IVF? I've been taking 10 units micro dose lupron 2x daily, 225 units follistim 2x daily, 20 units low dose HCG 1x daily. Plus, I'm nervous about having EWCM since Sunday! I was like, oh no...I'm going to O soon, but the nurses assured me that the meds I'm taking should prevent that. But I still worry.
GTKY: Any plans for the upcoming holiday? Our township pool opens then and, oh crap, that reminds me...I never bought our season passes! LOL, ok, off to do that now! I'll catch up in a bit!

@mich_elle I freaked out about the EWCM for days too and guess what? All 5 cycles it always worked out, they were right and we didn't miss O timing. So you can relax on that front! Also, relating to you so much about multiple needle pricks (they have to use the pediatric needles on me with my tiny veins) and also juggling childcare and still getting your injections done right on time! So do you have 3 follies then or more now?

@Momifbysea I'm so sorry your were so ill from the BCP Feel better soon! Thank you for your feedback!!! I'm so happy I said something because I need to be reassured I have 4 mature & 1 almost there.
@kristimh80 Yay for start of ERA cycle! Enjoy your mama!
@mich_elle YAY!! So glad your retrieval is finally here!!!
@Mack2342 I know what you mean about costs! I kind of wish I had signed up for the Attain program and could have gotten multiple cycles at a better deal.

@kristimh80 that is so comforting to hear about your experience with estrace, I hope it’s same for me! I had read that nausea and vomiting could be side effects and I had put it into the same category as BCP in my head so figured I’d have a tough time but maybe not. Does BCP ever give you nausea?
@Momifbysea Do you know when you'll be starting your FET protocol? With the estrace i got a lil nauseous too just make sure you eat a little bit with it! A piece of fruit, toast, whatever !
@Mack2342 I think they are just giving you the option. Its nice to know its there if you're comfortable with it but if you arent make sure you dont give up, advocate yourself! Remember you're paying them so really when it comes down to it, its your decision whether to move forward with the IVF. These are both very personal decisions that you and your H need to be comfortable with, not the RE.
@mich_elle FX for you tomorrow! I really hope they get all those follicles they see and they all fertilize! Remind me again are you guys doing a fresh transfer? or frozen with PGS?
@sejica Pool sounds nice! I have a pool around the corner from our place up north i belong to with a tiki bar and we also have a shore house( we are in NJ) so being by the water during the summer has always been therapeutic for me, now if the weather will just cooperate here we can get a couple beach days in, pool doesnt open till MDW.
@Momifbysea Maybe slightly, but only like the 1st day. Like said before...make sure you eat with it. I started mine back yesterday and noticed a slight headache at first but just took some tylenol and was fine. It puts me kind of in a whatever mode. I always start mine on CD2 and it always stops AF as well. So don't be alarmed if you feel like your period is short as well.

@kristimh80 ok good to know on the stopping AF part. @ndz2018 yes, I'll make sure to eat with it. I noticed the nausea isn't so bad now that I'm a few days into BCP but still don't have my normal appetite back. I am a girl who loves to eat so when I don't get excited by a burger or icecream, there's an issue LOL! As for FET protocol start, I am supposed to call my clinic when my next period starts. I thought initially that I would be getting a calendar when starting this month's period, but nope, just take the BCP for a cycle and then call back. It should be around mid-June when I would start the Estrace I would think, they have me start on Day 3. I think I'm just worried that I'll be one of the 25% whose lining isn't ready at the normal timing and that it won't implant. But hopefully not...crossing my fingers that this goes well! It still seems SOOOO FAAAARRRR OFFFFF though! Probably early July by the time we actually transfer if I'm thinking of this correctly. We have a trip planned out of state at end of June and don't get back until 7/1 so I may have to take Estrace a few more days to wait for our trip timing. They assure me that they can play with the timing since they will have taken control of my cycle...hope they're right, don't wanna screw this up...too too many shots and side effects to make it this far and it's not like I have a ton of embryos in the hopper!
@Momifbysea OH MY GOODNESS!! We’ll All be transferring around the same time me, you and @kristimh80 are all around early July I’m estimating mine for 7/3 Bc it’s a Tuesday and my doc doesn’t her transfers on that day!

That's awesome @ndz2018 and @kristimh80 ! I can't wait until I know the exact date...it will help it seem more "for real." Right now I'm just taking BCP and then I've been taking prenatal pills for like 5 years so it just doesn't seem like this will really be happening. I feel like I'm going to go in for transfer and it still won't feel like anything really happened, but since this is my first time doing this part, who knows, maybe it will.
@Momifbysea I get that! I'm praying my AF schedule stay on track after my biopsy so can be in the same week as you girls for July. When you start your estrogen pills and have your lining check, it'll stay to get real for you! I think mjy 1st transfer, my lining check was my "holy cow" it's happening moment...esp when I started the PIO shots.

Yes, definitely on the PIO shots. I am just a tad nervous about those huge needles, yikes! Would appreciate any advice on how to make the pain less from those of you that have done these already. DH will be doing them for me, at least he BETTER not chicken out!!!
@kristimh80 or @ndz2018 sorry for all the questions but could you tell me please what cycle day they usually do the ultrasound to check lining on? We have an out of state trip for a whole week that I think I already mentioned and they assure me they can work around that but it's right in the middle of that I think. I don't want to have to wait another cycle.
@Momifbysea My lining checks are scheduled between days 12 and 15. PIO wasn't bad for me, so I do them myself. Always use a heating pad for injection area, then use to warm up the oil. After, I'll throw the heating back on the area then massage it. It can get a little touchy (bruise like feeling), otherwise I didn't have any issue...besides if I tried injection in the wrong spot lol

TTV/s: Just prenatal; going to see RE next month finally
Rant: I was on an acne med until this week that was probably making my cycle wonky (causing a short luteal phase). Rave: I finally confirmed with my derm that I should get totally off this med to TTC, so I feel one step closer to the answers.
Questions: What's new in cycle tracking tech? Are any of the fitness bands/smart watches useful or way over teh top? I temp and use FF but it seems so 2014 (when I was TTCing #1).
GTKY: *TW* Putting the finishing touches on potty training. I will have to live vicariously through you guys...
hey! @marija333 - I haven't been on in awhile. We are on TTC break. Actually had sex last night and he pulled out - so weird after always having him not do that. This month I finally feel I'm recovering from all the anxiety I had. Lots of good days - still not 100% energy but learning to work with that. I did have a small set back last week for a few days where I had my anxiety nausea symptom but therapy has really helped me so much with that. When I have more good days I think about this entire process we went thru. Still thinking about the loss makes me kinda sad but overall. Honestly last week I was thinking at some point I wouldn't mind DH not try not prevent but I can guarantee you all I will never actively TTC. It was just too much stress for me and I'd rather not have that in my life.
@vlagrl29 Hi! Thanks for dropping by with an update. I am glad to hear you are feeling like you're recovering this month. Sorry if I dragged you to the one place you didn't want to think about! I hope we eventually see you back here whether actively or inactively, but I understand completely if you go on a permanent TTC vacation. Big hugs
@vlagrl29 good to get your update and I’m so glad you’re doing better. I had a few bad anxiety days the last week - work and MIL stress followed by my grandma’s funeral this weekend plus the BCP had me barely eating with nausea. No fun! So I understand what stress of all this can do and I’m glad you’re at peace with your plan.
@momifbysea I hope the meds are kind to you! For the PIO shots, I've been using a 4% lidocaine cream, OTC from Walgreens. Bought waterproof bandaids to cover the cream once it's on the spot for about 30 min. Then I load the PIO into the syringe and swap out the needle. Then I pop it under my boob for 15 min to warm the oil up. When it's go time, I pull off bandaid, wipe off cream, wipe with alcohol wipe and then lay down. I hang the leg off the side of the bed to stretch skin out. DH has been giving them to me so he stretches skin between thumb & index finger, gives me a count down & when he gets to 1 I cough as he inserts the needle. That has seemed to help. Although the last shot *hurt* and there was b-l-o-o-d so have tissues and a bandaid handy! He rubs area 5-10 min after. Alternate sides and best of luck!
@marijaa333 Thank you! And, I will be tackling the beast that is potty training soon as DS will be 3 in August!
@Mack2342 How did it go with potty training for you???
AFM, my ET was yesterday and we only had 2 poor quality embies to put back (grade 3 w/ >10% fragmentation & grade 4, >50% fragmentation). I'm basically on bed rest through wednesday, Friday is 1st bw to check progesterone, next Friday 6/1 is beta.

@mich_elle thanks for the PIO advice (sounds intense!) and I'm sorry you only had two, but I will say that our clinic's lab director told me that sometimes the most beautiful looking ones in the lab don't turn out the best whereas the ones that don't look best quality can sometimes be better, so you never know! Will keep fingers crossed for you as you wait for 6/1.
@mich_elle fingers crossed for you! Hopefully you can keep occupied until 6/1. AFM, potty training not too bad so far. DS will be 3 in August. We started on Saturday with no pants and by Sunday he was using potty without us prompting him. Went to daycare yesterday and had accident and they put him in diaper but still managed to get him to use potty twice in afternoon. I really would have liked to take a week off work to stay home with him but just didn’t have the time
@marijaa333- no worries! I come on when I want to. If you don't see me for awhile it's cause I'm not feeling it lol. Today is already better than yesterday so that's good - I'm going to hit up an easy yoga class tonight. I have therapy tomorrow. Gosh I just added 2 new violin students for the summer which makes my total count 14 and I got kinda nervous with me not being totally recovered from anxiety I worry that what if I can't handle that many right now. It's those what if statements I need to work on too. I'm also worried about not having enough energy for summer break - DD gets out of school on the 30th and she is 7. Luckily the worst happened when she was still in school. I decided next school year I'm going to volunteer a lot more. We have officially bought the tickets for our FL disney trip in august.
And I just have to say since we stopped TTC TMI - my orgasms have been freaking off the chain intense. I originally thought it was cause I had my hormones off but my ENDO checked those last week and they are all normal range. So I googled and apparently this can happen in your late 30s. I'll be 38 on Sunday. DH noticed too. I'll take that! lol
I respect all you ladies going thru fertility treatments. All I did was clomid 3 pills and that jacked me up bad! I think I will get to a point where I just leave it in Gods hands and I do feel at peace with having just 1 child if that's what is meant to be - I don't have any what if thoughts about a future baby. I know I tried my best and I just don't do well with things I can't control - I put myself under too much pressure and it's not good. I'd rather put that energy on other things in life. Adoption or foster to adopt has crossed my mind as well.
If anyone is on FB or IG you can find me as Karla Nichols. I just feel I've gotten to know some of you really well.
@vlagrl29 LOL, that's so funny about orgasms!! Happy birthday too - you are young, my friend! As for treatments, I am the same - I will consider clomid if RE make a good case when I finally go see them, but I'm almost certain I couldn't handle anything more intense... As for having 14 students, that is impressive during the best of times, let alone after all the TTC stress. And thanks for the inspiration to go back to yoga!! I need to do that...
@marijaa333 - I have a friend same age as me and it's taking them awhile to get preg as well but they have male factor issues. DH and I were unexplained - nothing could be found that should be fixed. I told her don't do clomid - she doesn't want to unless it comes to that. Basically it makes you produce more than 1 egg a month for more targets. I would have produced 3 eggs. My normal egg was massive the nurse said and the other 2 were immature because I didn't even finish the 5 days - I stopped after 3. And to top it all off my period came a full week early WTF? A 3 week cycle. My cycles were normally 30 days. As each month passes my AF becomes more normal again. I actually had 1 heavy day flow this month. I honestly can't believe it jacked it all up like that. I think my body is super sensitive to hormone changes and you couldn't pay me to do fertility treatments. NOPE! I appreciate my mental sanity too much.
I went to a basic yoga class tonight cause I don't want to overdo my energy levels right now but damn it's feeling better each time I go and even though it's basic I can still take it up a notch if I want to which I did tonight. And afterwards I stayed in the room after everyone left and made sure I could still transition from classic headstand to forearm balance and I can!! I'm so glad I haven't lost all my hard work. There is another girl at yoga that told me she tried clomid a long time ago and she hated it too. Only did it for 1 month and she said went straight to injectibles because they were easier on her body/mind.
@marijaa333 - I just noticed in another thread you wanted to know my experience with clomid. My side effects - the next day after pill 1 I felt depressed all day and actually teared up while practicing yoga. Day after pill 2 I woke suddenly at 6am balling my eyes out and my alarm goes off at 8. Day after pill 3 I woke suddenly at 6am in a mild anxiety attack, later crying to DH that I can't do this anymore and that I was so sorry I couldn't get pg also crying to DD and having major guilt not providing a sibling. The entire month I had at least 2 or 3 hot flashes every night and not a normal hot flush. It was tingling on my chest and increased heart beat until it passed. That stuff stays in your system for 28 days. I was in fight or flight the entire month which released all my anxiety that I hadn't had in 10 years. I got back on Ativan and I was already on zoloft. Just now starting to reduce ativan. My therapist who I've only been seeing for 1 month has been amazing and is the reason my nausea and dry heaving went away finally. That month I was on clomid I also had insomnia, nausea, and dry heaving. As a result of that nightmare I now have a crazy irrational fear of any prescription medicine I haven't taken before and also some supplements. Honestly if you are unexplained I wouldn't do it and if your DH is fine. We got pg with DD in 1 month when I was 30. I know age may play a factor but I also believe stress does too and TTC is stressful. We actually started TTC #2 on my 36 birthday ....almost 2 years later I had no idea it would have ended up like it did.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment? Vitamins/supplements?): baby aspirin, BCP, prenatals, vitamin D
Rants/Raves: I am tired of nausea and vomiting on BCP!
CD, CD/DPO (if applicable): not sure
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment? Vitamins/supplements?): PNV, Vit D, CoQ10, baby aspirin, IVF protocol meds
Rants/Raves: Well, I'm going to trigger tonight at 9pm for my retrieval Friday at 8am!

@Mack2342 I know what you mean about costs! I kind of wish I had signed up for the Attain program and could have gotten multiple cycles at a better deal.
@Momifbysea So sorry BC has made you so sick lately!! Hopefully, estrace will be good to you! I never have had an issue with it...usually makes me "happy go lucky" so FX yours will be as good

Status: CD 1 (was supposed to be 7 DPO)
@mich_elle good luck this cycle!
@sejica welcome!
Anyone hear from @vlagrl29 lately?
@ndz2018! Thank you! We did a fresh cycle.
