Anyone, especially STM’s+ feel like they are engorged already? I can’t express any colostrum now but my breasts are suuuuper full and tender like when they got full of milk before. I’m not sure if I’m all screwed up because I was still breastfeeding for the first couple months of this pregancy, but I don’t remember being this uncomfortable last time. At least not this early!
@Wishilivedinflorida I've had feelings of clogged ducts every so often. I was bfing until a week before my bfp, so not sure if there really is something going on or if boobs are just weird.
@Wishilivedinflorida and @Patience7150 I've felt the same way! My boobs feel really full and my nipples are tender like I gave a clogged duct or when they were engorged, it's like all I need is a suckling baby and I'm good to go. Glad I'm not alone in this, but I'm sorry you are going through it too, I know for me it's painful at times.
ETA: I had stopped breastfeeding a solid 6 months before getting my BFP.
@stothi I felt that way maybe the last month but this last week has been another level. I’m sorry you’re dealing with it too @Patience7150 and @nlc8424. Maybe it’s “mammary memory” instead of muscle memory? Haha!
@Wishilivedinflorida I was saying yesterday that I was starting to leak tiny amounts of colostrum. I’m a FTM so I have no idea what it feels like to be engorged, but my breasts and nipples definitely hurt!
Oohh add me to the giant boob train. I keep thinking they are gonna start leaking any day... I’m pretty sure they are as large now as they were the first month or so after dd was born. I’m busting out of every bra I own and I bought each size as I went up last time! (Pre-dd, I was 34c, pre-this one, I was 32dd. Currently pretty sure I’d fill a 36dd comfortable).
Discomfort is kinda come and go with them, but I‘ve had to start using baby powder under them as I got red and itchy and funky from the lack of air-flow?!
It’s been almost 4 years since dd weaned, but these are already no longer fun boobs, just huge and uncomfortable.

@jhjocelyn I totally hear you on the gross underneath. Mine are not there yet, but I imagine it can't be far off since I basically have to wear a tank as a layer under every top and with the temps increasing outside I'm sure the underboob sweat will be out of control. Yuck!
Also, baby girl has decided she needs to kick like all night long. Love feeling her move and it's not strong enough to wake me up yet. Unfortunately I've been having restless nights the past few nights where it feels like hours of tossing and turning and I just want to scream at myself to sleep while you can! Some unison may be in my future. And I literally belched all day yesterday, anyone else really gassy?
@nlc8424 my gas has lessened a little over the last few weeks, but on Saturday I had gas “trapped” in my body and boy did it hurt! I’m starting to feel like if it’s a pregnancy symptom I have it or have had it at some point.
+1 for tender boobs. I've been getting clogged duct feelings and my boobs have probably gotten larger.
I've also started to smell like a teenager. Hormonal sweat just stinks (literally). It doesn't matter what or how much deodorant I use or how often I shower, I just smell gross.
On a good note, I've had a lot more energy. Which is such a weird feeling for me. I never got the burst of energy with DD.
I also had to take off all my rings yesterday. My hands feel naked but they were getting very uncomfortable with the swelling. I've also gotten swelling in my feet and ankles.
Add another for the tender boobs club. I am getting this pain on my left side, right above my ribs. It is only at night when I am sleeping that it wakes me up and hurts like heck. Can you get indigestion/heartburn there?
@knitknitread I had to switch deodorants several weeks ago, since the one I had been using just stopped agreeing with my chemistry, seemed like. With this new one, I feel much better. ;)
@knitknitread OMG where did you find that photo of me and my child?! I swear that's what he's doing in there. I also had to remove my wedding band the other day. My engagement ring has always fit a bit loosely so luckily my hand isn't completely naked (yet).
I've been experiencing some pretty intense lower abdominal pain. Maybe the cervix area? It's so bad that I don't know. It's not constant but every few days I'll feel it for hours. I'll be bringing it up to my midwives at the next appointment. They didn't seem too concerned about it last time since it doesn't come in waves like contractions do (? I'm guessing, FTM so I dunno).
I hadn't felt like my boobs were any bigger than usual but.... uh... I just squeezed and something came out. Welp, they had a few months off at least, haha. I remember being about 32ish weeks pregnant with DS and having that happen and although I really wanted to breastfeed, it freaked me out SO much when it happened that I cried. I just couldn't handle all the freaky changes my body was going through!
No big new symptoms except that all of a sudden I really feel PREGNANT. I'm feeling that heaviness in my uterus and my hips are aching in a way they haven't so far. I've made it more than halfway through this pregnancy being so distracted by DS and buying a house/moving/settling in, but all of a sudden it's really starting to hit me that we'll have a new baby here in just 4 months!

@yogapants247 yes! I just made the comment to DH that i'm feeling pregnant now, belly starting to get in the way, get tired easier, etc. I'm weirdly bummed about it because I have so many projects I need to get done. The 2nd trimester awesomeness isn't going to last much longer!
I feel like I'm 22 weeks going on 39 weeks. And the fatigue! I have 2 hours of activity in me before I need to sit down and rest. I feel so bad for my 4 and 6 year olds, who want me to play with them.
Also in the "feeling very pregnant" boat. It suddenly became rough this weekend. Also, we've been hit with some crazy plague, and I cannot breathe through my nose, which is making drinking water difficult. I think this dehydration is leading to braxton hicks.
My boss today: "Oh, you're in a dress, you look very nice." Me in my mind: "Nah man, I've just hit the phase of pregnancy where pants aren't comfortable."
@patience7150@klj0228 Ditto, dresses are more "I'm out of pants that fit" than anything else!
I also feel very heavy in the abdomen/uterus now and have started getting winded easily, which I find especially frustrating because I am also still barfing, so it's literally zero weeks of the promised golden trimester for me
@adirat I'm so sorry...I really hope 3rd tri doesn't add anything to your list of things making you miserable. I feel like a pregnancy can really start to fall apart any day now, and I hope you can just maintain the rest of the way.
Feeling like I might be getting a UTI and I have an early morning flight tomorrow. Traveling for work and won’t be home until late Wednesday night. Praying it’s nothing, but the urge to pee with little reward is not looking good.
+1 on the "pregnant feeling" +1 on the hip/pelvic pain, it feels like I pulled my groin? Ugh.
Mostly I've just had a head cold (or allergies?) for what feels like forever and my ears have been clogged since mid-April. The neti pot makes my sinuses and ears feel better for maybe 30 seconds then it's back to stuffed.
Sleeping is getting more and more difficult with lots of tossing and turning, and weird weird weird dreams. Last night I had a dream that I showed up to work and my store had shut down, like - no sign it ever existed in the mall. I'm having some anxiety around work clearly.
@samd6 For what it’s worth, I had horrid congestion and sinus issues last week and with that, I was having all kinds of anxiety nightmares (mine were spider related!). For the past two nights my congestion has gotten much better and last night I had nice happy fun dreams! I’ve had to use a combination of humidifier, lots of saline spray, and Flonase. It’s not all better, but improved! And, I think the anxiety dreams were due to the difficulty in breathing.
My back is really bothering me now, and I’m starting to get really worried about flying in a couple weeks. (That’s it’s own issue, bc I have a severe fear of flying and this will be my first time doing it without medication.) But aside from that - I can’t sit in one place for too long without my back pain becoming unbearable. Not sure how I’ll be able to deal with a cross country flight
@magnolia209 I need to clean/replace my humidifier somebody left water in it when we went on vacation for 10 days and I'm paranoid I'm going to spray black mold into the world and kill us all.
Oh! My husband reminded me that I have another question!
Shoes. I work on my feet all day and have wide feet already, I think a lot of my back pain is due to terrible shoes and my foot soreness is obviously due to them. Any suggestions? I’d like something that has a *little* style since I work with a bunch of 20-something sneaker heads but ultimately comfort & support is key. They do need to be closed toe.
@samd6 have you ever been fitted for shoes? If not, I'd recommend going to a running shoe store and they would be able to help fit you appropriately. I'm not sure if your feet have grown or if they will, but mine grew during my first pregnancy and stayed bigger and seem slightly larger now too. I mostly wear Sketchers Go Walk3, they're black and discreet, but due to my job I can't wear a more comfortable pair of sneakers (mine would be bright colors).
@ashh2018 have you looked into a support belt? The more rapid weight gain in one central place definitely throws off your center of gravity and puts stress on your back as it tries to compensate. As much as no one wants to wear another layer that's more constricting, it could help with the back pain. Also, have you tried seeing a chiropractor?
@samd6. My feet are killing me, too. I did buy a new pair of Clark's to try in a wide size, but they are actually quite big still, so I need to try with my added insole and/or "real" socks, or else return and order a half size down. I can't wear sneakers tho, otherwise I'd feel like it was no problem. Just add a good supportive insole - you can usually pull out and replace the one that comes inside the shoe - for more support.
@ashh2018 no matter how pregnant you think you look, tell the flight attendant you are pregnant and that you have anxiety around flying. It gives you an automatic excuse to get up and move around a lot, which you need to do on that long of a flight anyway. They also take extra care of you and make sure you have plenty to drink. On that note, always take a drink if they ask if you want one...it will make you have to pee which makes you get up and walk. It will also help keep you hydrated so you have less swelling. If you are having any problems with swelling before you fly go ahead and take your rings off when you board the plane, I put mine in a safe space in my bag, because your hands will almost definitely swell at least a little while flying and stuck rings are not comfortable.
@nlc8424 do you or anyone have any recommendations when it comes to support belts? My boy hangs out so low that it's really bothering my lower back. My back never bothers me the few times he decides to hang out a little higher, which is always a great relief.. And man does my tailbone hurt when I walk a lot! I wanna keep up with exercising but oof! I never expected having a sore tailbone!
@lilidubs last pregnancy I felt like a donkey kicked me square in the ass. My tailbone hurt so bad!!! I had never heard about tailbones hurting before from pregnancy, but I guess it's a thing.
@lilidubs I've actually never used a support belt so I don't have any recommendations. IIRC, I think @pourmeamocktail and @spottedginger have used one maybe?
I used a support belt last time as well and it was a life saver. I need to see if I can find it as my back has been killing me recently. I got mine on Amazon I think it was the bracco one. It wasn’t terribly comfortable though
Agree with so much of what has already been said (especially around just feeling really pregnant).
Additionally, my biggest issue right now is the fact that baby is so low and kicking so hard that I can't control when I go from fine to desperately needing a bathroom in no time. Yesterday I had a long bus/train ride, and I really almost did not make it (I had to get off a stop early because I knew there was a restaurant bathroom).
Yes @nlc8424 I’ve been using one and it helps immensely. @lilidubs I’m using the belly bandit Upsie Belly. They carry them at Buy Buy Baby and I almost always have a 20% off code. It is more expensive than some of the others I saw online, but isn’t completely I’ve the belly and an extra layer in the heat. It also comes with a heat/ cool pack that fits inside the lower back portion and is brilliant when you’ve over done it.
Definitely with you ladies and feeling " really pregnant " / exploding breasts. @lilidubs I have this one: https://www.baobeimaternity.com/ ( pro bump ) and the Gabriella Support band which I got on Amazon. Gabriella is better support but the Baobei is more comfortable.

For belly support bands, if you're feeling broke, ask your OB for one. Mine gave me a fairly basic one when I mentioned it and I never saw a bill for it (included in "routine prenatal care"). It worked and I didn't spend more money!
