Re: Symptoms w/o 5/15

  • I have a new symptom as of this weekend. I have a pain in my groin/pelvis on the left side. I am assuming it is my uterus growing, or hips separating but it's super annoying right now.

  • @tessiesmom26 Welcome to the joys of round ligament pain. It's literally a bitch. I've been getting it too.
  • eahayeseahayes member
Posted in another thread, but thought i would post here too-- I woke up and have been noticing some dark brown cervical mucous. Not constant, but noticed probably 2/5 times I have gone pee. Is this normal? Trying to avoid going down the rabbit hole.. Don't want to email my doctor if it's something super common I just don't know about!
  • @eahayes I haven't had any dark brown CM but I did have some stringy, medium brown discharge a few weeks ago when I was ~10 weeks. I never had any on my underwear, only sometimes when I wiped after going to the bathroom. I had an OBGYN appointment that same day so I took a picture and showed her, and she wasn't concerned at all. Haven't had it since.
  • I posted this in the randoms thread but my giant uterus feels like it's jammed up into my ribcage and it's super uncomfortable.  I feel gigantic.

Also, like last pregnancy, I get this weird feeling/tightness on the right side, right at the bottom of my ribcage.  It's like constant and feels like a tightening.  It's not really a pain.  It's annoying.

  • I am no longer taking b6 or unisom. Nausea is manageable but annoying. I am 14w, why isn't it gone!?!?
I am having lower back, left side pain. I am pretty sure its because shortly after getting pregnant I started driving my old car which is a stick shift. I hadn't driven it much/regularly for like 4 years. I just got a new car Friday (automatic) so hopefully it goes away soon. It hurts.

  • @tessiesmom26 So sorry that started but I've been having it too for the last few days. At first I was concerned then I was like hmmm it must just be things shifting and moving around. super uncomfortable.
  • My nausea went away at 11w and now at almost 16w its back...
  • It didn't finish my post...

I've been having headaches to the point where there's throbbing in my ears.  Never happened with my first.  Good thing i see my midwife in 2 days.
  • Ive had heart burn this whole pregnancy so far and it is getting worse. I literally cannot eat or drink anything safely. Also i am a CNA so on my feet for a long time. The hip and lower back pain is kicking my butt. By the end of the day i almost can't walk. Im only 13 weeks, but i have bad hips to begin with. The next 27 weeks should be fun!
  • My abdomen is so so sore. Even just my toddler leaning on it is very uncomfortable, almost painful. Round ligament is no joke...I think it's gotten worse each pregnancy. Other than just a very tender and crampy middle, I'm cruising along now at 15 weeks with little to no other symptoms.

I also think I'm feeling movement... no kicks or anything, but more like a shifting type of feeling.

  • @horsecrazy406mama - with DS I had pretty bad sciatic pain for 2-3 months (I'm a nurse so I get running around all shift). It went away sometime in second tri so I hope the same happens for you (and for me this time, because I'm having the same thing). Are you taking something for the heartburn? There are a few daily preventative meds my doc said are ok to take.

My nausea has come back the last few days (I'm 14w3d today). It makes it hard to eat and then I feel like crap from not eating. I know it could be worse (like you poor ladies vomiting), I just thought I was done with it since it was gone for almost 2 weeks.

@mockingjay1 fingers crossed it will! I need to look in to pregnancy safe options cuz the heartburn is getting to be unbearable. This baby better have so much hair lol
  • Heartburn and indigestion with so many things! Nausea gone, except when triggered by indigestion. Zantac has been helping, but sometimes I forget to take it. Some energy is coming back, just in time for the end of school thank goodness!

My boobs hurt so bad I can hardly stand it.  My twins like to throw themselves against my chest, head-first, and I literally want to scream every time it hurts so bad.  They're also almost as big as they were when I was full-term with said kids.  They're going to be enormous by the end of this. :confounded:

I've also developed a weird thing where every morning when I get up, I'm so short of breath that I can't carry on even a short conversation.  I sound like Stevie from Malcom in the Middle, gasping in between words and feeling like I'm going to pass out.  I have asthma, but this doesn't feel like my usual asthma symptoms and I'm fine by afternoon.  I go for a walk every evening with no trouble breathing at all.  WTF, body?  All I can think it that it's somehow connected to acid reflux that's happening while I'm sleeping?

Plus I'm so tired I need a 2-3 hour nap every afternoon, which just isn't feasible when I'm taking care of two toddlers.  My eyes feel like they're full of sand.

  • I'm  soooo tired.  I actually slept in today so I thought I'd be good but I want a nap so bad! Bwahaha SAHM of 3....not gonna happen.

Also, I love loved papaya enzymes for my indigestion with my second and subsequent.   I also found some chlorophyll with peppermint flavor you could add to water it was so delicious and good for you.  Obviously I like to go the natural route and am a bit 'crunchy'.
  • @bqtmom25 I’ve never heard of papaya enzymes and am super intrigued. My heartburn hasn’t been too bad this time around but with DD it was awful, especially toward the end. It’d be nice to have something up my sleeve.
  • My uterus is stretching, it doesn't hurt, it's just I'm always nervous when something happens in that area.

The nausea is lessening, so is the fatigue, only to come back with a vengeance for short bouts. The only thing I really miss is my appetite, nothing sounds/tastes good right now. On the plus side, I've gained nearly no weight in the first trimester.

  • @MouseMama817 I used papaya enzyme last pregnancy. While tasty I didn’t find them as effective as Tums

  • @lifesabeach85 Tums didn’t help me at all last time. All that helped was Omeprazole and cold milk. Maybe this baby will like Tums? Hopefully this is all a moot point and the heartburn won’t get out of hand at all. Fingers crossed lol
  • Anyone got anything for headaches? I’ve been going on a week now of developing a mid-afternoon headache that lasts well into the early morning. I try to sleep it off but it just comes back. It is so hard to get anything done. I drink coffee in the am so I know it isn’t caffeine related.

  • @wannaflickone No remedies, sorry! Hope you find something soon.

I know I already complained about this in this thread, but the pelvic pain is getting worse. It has moved to be more in the center of my crotch. I honestly feel like I got whacked in the vag with a two by four.

I'm dreaming so much and so intensely that I feel like I haven't even slept when I wake up in the mornings since I'm not getting much, if any, deep sleep.  This is ridiculous.

  • @MojieJo I've had that on and off. I completely sympathize. It's even worse when its vivid work dreams! I felt like I was working all night just to get up and go to work in the morning!

  • I definitely agree about the dreams. Every night it’s vivid dreams about the most random stuff so I wake up feeling completely unrested. Usually I get 2 or 3 completely unrelated random dreams and I’m so done with them!
  • @tessiesmom26 same to the 2 by 4. I was just telling my mom this on the phone a couple days ago.
  • @wannaflickone have you tried allergy meds? If that’s the source of your headache it really helps! I had a bad sinus headache and Zyrtec helped. Or, sometimes the way you’re sleeping can cause a headache. You could try a new pillow?

+1 for trippy dreams! It usually doesn’t bother me, except when I have nightmares involving DD or this pregnancy

  • @wannaflickone. I had a nasty one for 4 days I couldn't stand it and meds did nothing.  I tried chiro, massage, electrolytes, increasing salt and protein for blood volume, essential oils...

Sorry that's not helpful at all but it did eventually lift.  I would think since its mid day like that it could have to do with bloodsugar/blood volume.  The dr. Brewer pregnancy diet is kind of insane but interesting.  Think hydrating but not just with water with vital minerals.  And the protein is a building block of everything we're  creating right now plus it helps stabilize sugar.  When I was hurting I just wanted an easy button but didn't really find it.
  • @bqtmom25 I've never heard of Dr. Brewer pregnancy diet. I will definitely read about it. Thanks!

@lifesabeach85 I do have awful allergies this time of year, but I never take anything. I will try a zyrtec and see how I respond to that. Thank you!

  • +1 to the vivid dreams. The only time I have slept well since finding out I was pregnant is after work when I've been up 26-28 hours solid before sleeping. And it's a 4-6 hour nap. My sciatic pain has been so bad it's been incorporated into my dreams the last few nights. Last night I dreamed a doctor was going to do a procedure on it to try and help.

  • @mockingjay1 that's crazy that the pain is affecting your dreams, poor thing!  Hope you get some relief soon?

And working 26-28 hours with only a short nap after....while pregnant?  Are you a superhero or something.  I feel dead and I sleep a lot.
  • @bqtmom25 - I am going to ask my OB about it next week. I just looked at the calendar on my phone and I saw a chiropractor with DS until 15-16 weeks for it. I don't think they really helped so I think I stopped going but it got better within 2-3 weeks after I think. I'm hoping the same thing this time. It's really only bad when I sleep or walk a lot (like at work or the zoo). It's usually tolerable otherwise.

Ha - definitely not a superhero. I work one night a week because it worked better for breastfeeding when we moved here and DS was 5 mo old. Now I just like the people and the extra money doesn't hurt. Work is busy enough it's easy to stay awake, but the 40-45 min drive home is killer. It's works for now. Once the kids are in school I think I'll look for more normal hours so half our weekend isn't a wash.

  • Holy heartburn.
  • edited May 2018
Oh man @booksandcoffee I hope it subsides soon. I always get awful heartburn in my 3rd trimester. I am not at all looking forward to it. Have you taken anything? My doctor had me start on over the counter nexium with DS and it helped.

I drink water all day but without fail, right before bed I get SUPER thirsty. I can’t ignore it and feel like I haven’t had water in a week. Then of course I’m up to pee every 10 min and then every 2 hours.
  • @wannaflickone All my headaches during pregnancy are hydration related. Are you staying super duper hydrated? I sometimes down some Gatorade or coco hydro (powdered coconut water I mix with juice) when I feel the headache coming. It usually clears it up. I drink a decent amount of water normally and have to double it when pregnant.

    image

  • @blue2mango I drink a ton of water but am wondering if I should try to drink something with additional electrolytes. Never tried the coco hydro. That sounds good!

  • @wannaflickone I buy it on Amazon. They have flavors also.

  • My hips have been starting to both me and messing with my ability to sleep well for the past few days.  I'll wake up with hip pain of whichever side I'm sleeping on.  I've been putting a pillow between my knees to try and help but it's been ineffective.  I wake up every 2 hours or so just to have to flip sides and usually that doesn't even help.  I'm going to try rolling up a blanket to put against my back today to see if slightly leaning into that will help?  So frustrating.
