I started a thread on this about a month ago but wanted to find out if anyone else is now dealing with this too. I read somewhere that:
"During pregnancy, the amount of blood pumped by the heart (cardiac output) increases by 30 to 50%. As cardiac output increases, the heart rate at rest speeds up from a normal pre-pregnancy rate of about 70 beats per minute to 80 or 90 beats per minute."
However, my resting heart rate (after standing for about a minute) goes up to around 136. I feel dizzy/winded most of the time, sititng too. My OB finally decided it's not normal and I see a high risk OB next week. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Any STM experiences with this? I feel like I ran 5k most of the day... I'm not overweight, I'm 5'3" and 145 lbs (25 weeks pregnant).
Any advice/commonalities would ease my conscience before meeting this new OB! Thanks
Re: Resting Heart Rate
My heart rate has been elevated since I had my appendix out a couple of weeks ago and they kept me in the hospital longer because they couldn't get it down. It's come down a bit now but still higher and sometimes races.
