I found that the higher I could shove them up there the less leakage I had. The only time I had them fall out was when I put them in and then had a surprise poop so try not to use the bathroom for 30 minutes-1 hour after putting them in
@beachbunnyxo123 I haven't had anything fall out but...I would suggest if for the AM dose to put it in and lay down for a 20 mins to a half hour...night dose isn't as much of an issue. Pantyliners are your friend. Blue CM really makes this process so much more fun, ugh.
@rallykat14 Girl, I so have my FX for you! I'm thrilled that your donor is willing to try again, and that the RE's office is comping everything. It does sound like perhaps they made a mistake, but at least they're trying to make up for it!!
@beachbunnyxo123 That is so wonderful that you had much better results with this cycle. FX so hard for your FET. How exciting!!
@nitnat007 As Tom Petty said, the waiting is the hardest part. So sorry that you couldn't get your results sooner. Thinking of you and hoping for answers.
@50wife Your pharmacist is killing me. Why in the world he'd think that a moist area wouldn't grab a pill and hold it, and cause the pill to dissolve just as if you'd swallowed it is beyond me. Also, really glad your doc has you using it as a suppository as opposed to orally. I've done both, and I can tell you that AF still came when she wanted when I took prometrium orally, but when I shove it up my hoo-ha (OH calls it my pussy pill, LOL), AF waits until 1-2 days after I stop taking it. It's a huge difference for me.
@Avrilmai I hope the wait to come off the bench goes quickly.
@emmasemm Girl, you just keep going and going. After everything you've been through and done, you're still trucking. Just wanted to give you some props on your tenacity.
Actually, I want to send out props to all my IF ladies. You all keep me going even when all I can do is lurk:
AFM:
Diagnosis: Waited too effing long to TTC, OH is being treated for Low-T, using frozen sperm
Status: TWW
What are you doing: Well, this cycle I had planned to do 2 at home inseminations of frozen swimmers, one on the day before I thought I was going to O and one the day of. Turns out I only had one vial in the tank because I am a complete dumbass. Or more accurately, I'm forgetful. I thought I had 8 total vials on ice at the cryopreservation place the last time I transferred some, but it turns out it was 7. I had only transferred 3 last time, leaving 4 for the final transfer (which I requested today...what a weird feeling to be almost done). So when I went to do my first insemination this cycle, after using 2 vials last cycle, I expected 2 more in the tank and pretty much lost my shit when I only found 1. It took rereading the emails between me and the cryo lady to clear things up for me. Fuck.
I mean, it really doesn't change much since either way I have the same number of cycles remaining. It just means I had less sperm to work with this cycle, which I feel like I royally fucked up anyway. I did the insemination on what turned out to be O day, but who knows if I was too late or not given that the egg only lives like 6 hours. I should've had the sperm waiting for it since it lives more like 24 hours. That's why I plan 2 vials, so that I hopefully cover my bases to hit that 6 hour window. Ugh. So I feel like I really have to be on it for the next 2 cycles, since those are the last. But no pressure...
How's it going: Aside from the above, I'm still surprisingly calm about our TTC journey nearing its end. There's a huge part of me that's relieved. Bad news can be better than the unknown, so in a twisted way, I feel better knowing that our family is going to be me, OH, and DSS. So I can get on with my life, even if it's so not the way I planned or wanted it. Like I told OH the other day, when he was lamenting how much better off we'd be financially if he'd never been laid off: there's only so much we control, and what matters is what we do with it...we have to appreciate what we do have and make the best of things with circumstances we don't control.
Any questions: Nope
GTKY: National Parks are the best! My favorite vacation so far was to Grand Canyon. We have a goal to hit all the National Parks in our lifetime.

@aurora1973 oh no, I bet you were kicking yourself. Don’t be too hard on yourself though. Siht happens. We soooo love Grand Canyon National Park. Though when we were there it was so damn hot DH was not quite as keen as I wanted to hike some of the trails! I have a sneaky suspicion my local monitoring is going to fail me again next week, so I’m going to need some of that tenacity to find a backup solution...
@beachbunnyxo123 I’ll second @ladymillil to be careful with the pooping too soon after you’ve inserted a new one. Otherwise I found everything was safe and secure all day. Did you get the biopsy and mock transfer done? I still would have thought that they would do the biopsy without BCP as I thought many women with endo are put on BCP to help manage symptoms...
@jrm_14 sorry about the only one follicle. Are you ok with this new RE? Although he seems to know a lot, his staff seem a bit um “lack luster”? And my DH was not quite as fast on the “let’s fly around the world for more IVF” as me, but he just needed a bit more time to wrap his head around it.
@purplg8r I finish all meds on Sunday and hoping AF arrives by Tuesday morning or not until Thursday morning.
@darkstar42 Fx the side effects from Clomid stay away for you
@50wife I said the same to DH that I hope they’re working. Issue could be they work too well and I’m over suppressed... so then we could half the dose for next time but I really really don’t want to have to skip yet another cycle.
@rallykat14 oh I’m keeping my fingers quietly crossed for you here...
@suzycupcake sadly not still there as we’re staying in Europe this year since we hope to be traveling here for IVF cycles...
AFM somehow managed to get through four days at work now and only one more day, but this tiredness is really a whole level I never knew before. Can’t wait to start to feel normal again on Monday. I also am definitely a little more emotional... a senior guy at work was saying some really stupid things yesterday in a meeting. For the first hour I held my tongue. The second hour not so much. Now I’m a little bit famous for putting him in his place pretty publicly... I assume the guys are all saying it “must be my time of the month” based on the looks I’ve been getting and how super polite everyone was to me today. Maybe there’s an upside to these side effects after all when nobody will argue with me or say no to me for a few days ;-)
In other news as I’m British I am of course “secretly” following the build up to the royal wedding this weekend. And what a right royal F up it is so far. No blame to any party, but no girl needs that sort of stress in the days before her wedding. Let alone if millions of people will be watching. Made me and DH very glad we got married in Vegas. Avoided any potential family drama.

Hmmm, maybe my husband would want to go to the cr for a cycle. I'm sorry you are feeling so tired. I wonder if it's because of grad school? I've never followed a royal wedding. How different is it from how it's portrayed in tv shows? I'm watching the royals show and it's really good.

@suzycupcake yes, many of the European countries have much lower base costs - but you always need to read through all small print and add on the costs for the extras that are not included as standard eg if you want ICSI or PGS testing. Even so the cost of living in those countries is typically less, so also the prices they charge are less. Keep in mind there are less and more expensive clinics in most countries. CNY is one of the least expensive in the US (of the bigger clinics). Some of the clinics in Europe are particularly set up for overseas travel patients. This means you won’t be the odd one out but normal so they typically know how to handle the bumps in the process. Also some of them have great locations for vacation whilst you’re there! I know people who went to Spain and Greece and literally just took a two week vacation as far as most people know but actually went through IVF there. Suntan, culture and IVF all rolled into one! However do not underestimate the extra stress and cost of being a travel patient. You will have to pay separately for all baselines and monitoring locally (could be 10 US and blood draws, easily $200 a time). If you’re using a local clinic those arenormally included in the fixed IVF fee. So you either have to factor that cost in or go to the foreign clinic for the whole process. But in case you are cancelled eg at baseline, then you will have to go back another month... Getting the exact meds prescribed by one clinic filled in another country can also be tricky. So I would advise to check that out well in advance. Some of the European clinics actually provide some of the meds as part of their pacakage if you collect them from the clinic after each monitoring - which again you can’t take advantage of unless you’re physically there for each appointment. Prices for meds out here are not significantly different to the US. If you’re doing retrieval only (without HGH) then plan 3000 Euros per cycle for meds roughly. For an FET 1500 Euros. Oh and then flights and hotels...
I did full business case calculations for each clinic we liked (I mean, I am an accountant...) and that helped to capture the “end to end” cost more clearly rather than just look at published prices. Cost was an important factor in our decision, but the main driver was the tailored protocol options they were willing to try for me - with DOR tailoring is critical to getting better chances of success.

Thank you @emmasemm I really appreciate you taking the time out of your life to give me some good info on this. I've been considering it for awhile. I'm not an accountant, but I am a numbers person. I keep spreadsheets for our personal/business finances and definitely always compare costs down to the very last cent in our household as well as compare the difference between low, mid level, and expensive purchases, along with future projections. I secretly just want to live abroad somewhere for a year lol Hopefully some day I can convince my husband of this. Thanks again!

@rally@rallykat14 Amazing news! Everything crossed for you. @darkstar42 So hoping that you have no side effects on the meds. @Aurora1973 Oh nooo! That is annoying, but a completely innocent mistake that could have happened to anyone. FX that that one vial is all you need. Lots of positive vibes! @emmasemm You are the real MVP! Way to go getting through the week when you have been feelings so rough. Well done for telling that guy off too. Ha, did you ask for anything else like a raise? Since you were on such a good streak with everything giving you what you wanted. I dont know that we will watch the wedding tomorrow, but I would not say no to scones and clotted cream to honor the occasion.
Happy Friday!
AFM just got back from the doctor and got results from my MRI. Not entirely conclusive honestly which is rather frustrating. I do show dilated uterine veins, which could be an indication of pelvic congestion syndrome. But they could not be sure on that, so have recommend further testing, potentially a CT. Also possible focal adenomyosis, but they could not entirely confirm this either. Both of could be entirely irrelevant to our attempts at trying to get KTFU. So referred to yet another doctor, with another unknown wait time. A little frustrated that there was so much build up to not actually getting any sort of answers back. But also relieved that there isn't something seriously wrong too. Anyone have any experience in the PCS area? I will do a search through as well.
@nitnat007 Ugh how frustrating! As much as you don't want something to be wrong, you almost just want a reason. Unfortunately, I've got no information for you but I hope you can get your follow up appts done quickly and get some answers!
Thanks @nitnat007. I'm so sorry you didn't get a definitive answer. +1 to what @50Wife said!

@emmasemm I will have having my biopsy and mock transfer on Monday at 545am! The doctor is coming in early to do it so I don’t have to go midday since I’ve taken so much time from work lately due to appointments. So the biopsy is to test for endometritis (not to be confused with endometriosis) so BCPs would have no impact on my biopsy as endometritis is an infection in the endometrial lining that can be treated with antibiotics and doesn’t have to be done at a certain time in the cycle. It will also act as a scratch. I will stay on the BCPs until closer to when my biopsy results should come in. When are you anciricpated to start your cycle? I’m so excited for you!!
@Avrilmai@50Wife@Aurora1973 Thanks ladies. Definitely would never wish there to be something wrong, but it would at least give us an answer to work with. But I know how you all know the feeling all too well. I appreciate your support. And to add to it, I am pretty sure that AF is going to be arriving this evening too. Cupcakes and wine here I come!

@KristoKekerooni I LOL'd at your response to 50's situation.

@nitnat007 thanks
