Anyone have brown cervical mucous? 12 w 6 days and i'm noticing it today.. have had a long road to get here so trying not to worry and go down that rabbit hole as best I can..
@pink_polkadots - Fantastic news!!! Everything crossed for great NIPT results too! @eahayes - I don't have any experience, but I did have some spotting around 8 weeks, and I was told your cervix is very vascular right now and so sex, straining to poop, etc can cause the spotting. Maybe the brown mucus was just a very small amount of old blood? I would try not to stress (easier said than done I know) if you're not cramping and otherwise everything else is normal. Hopefully there won't be any more so you don't stress!

Has anyone taken Tylenol PM during their pregnancy? Does anyone know if it's considered safe? I know Tylenol is. I have a wicked ear infection which sent me into Urgent Care at 1 a.m. . They prescribed me antibiotics which I started today I'm wondering if I could take a Tylenol PM so that my ear will feel better and I can sleep. I am 12 weeks today.
* I understand that all medications come with some risk during pregnancy. I also understand that others choose not to use any over-the-counter medicines during pregnancy, especially during the first trimester. If you do not agree with my choices. That is ok, feel free to move past my question.
@cm716 the ER I went to with my first told me to take tylenol PM for a wicked headache. I now don't care for tylenol depleting glutathione but honestly I e had an ear infection as an adult and the pain is crazy, if I felt like it would help get me over the hump I'd take it.
You'll likely only need one dose and be better by morning with the abx.
Anyone have a pregnancy workout DVD they like? I’ve been doing slightly modified 30 day shred from Jillian Michaels but getting into second tri it’s getting too hard to modify all the crazy ab stuff... but last pregnancy I remember being so annoyed with pregnancy workouts not feeling like an actual workout. I just want something where I’ll actually sweat!
@iheartbooks I don’t have personal experience with their DVDs but I have done Pure Barre through both pregnancies. I believe they have prenatal specific DVDs you can get on Amazon. I always feel the burn in my butt, legs and arms at barre!
@bqtmom25 The pain was seriously awful! I've never had one as an adult until now and I was in such much pain I was puking. Thank you for your response! I'm feeling much better and hoping to be 100% tomorrow.
@pink_polkadots I got my NT scan yesterday and babies fluid at the back of the neck measured slightly over the cutoff for its gestational age at 2.6. I did the bloodwork for the NIPT. I'm just going crazy over here. I hope everything works out ok for you. I know exactly what you are going through
Anyone feel a lot of pressure and heaviness at 12 weeks? It is just a really full feeling. I told someone today that I think the baby had a growth spurt today because of the pressure and fullness.
@bfpafter4years I had that feeling this past weekend. It went away after a couple days. I mentioned it to my OB today and she said it wasn't anything to be concerned about.
@jkmartin723 I use midwives. It is my understanding they are for more natural forms of labor and birth coaching. They can not do c-sections because they are not OBGYN's. When I had my DS & an emergency c-section an OB on call performed it with my midwife right there. They have a doctorate but not in the same area as an OB. I love my midwives!
@photomama3811 At my office if you ask not to know at the 20W ultrasound then it is not written down and no one knows. If you can get through that then you are golden. Plus the torture to others is awesome! I was team green with DS.
My question, should I still feel comfortable to lay on my stomach at just over 14W? I feel weird doing it like I am squishing the little bean but its not uncomfortable. I can't remember with DS but I showed less at this time with him.
@blue2mango I have that issue too. Everytime I go to sleep on my stomach (I have always been a stomach sleeper) it is not uncomfortable but it freaks me out so I immediately change positions. I remember pretty early on with DD, not being able to sleep on my stomach.
I'm not sure if this is the most current questions thread but is the most bumped so...
Anyone do the Materniti21 Plus test specifically? How long was your turn around time? The OB said 7-10 business days so I'm trying to gauge when I can realistically expect to get results and/or when I can start to call to see if they're in yet without being totally brushed off (ie I know tomorrow is impossible to have results from a late Tuesday draw, but what about Monday? Tuesday? etc).
@bkosy our NT measurement was somewhere between 2.7 and 3.2 depending on which measurement (LO kept moving so some of those were deleted due to back arching, I don't know which though), we're doing the NIPT too. Pretty much going crazy here too if you couldn't tell based on the above question. Did your doctor mention anything about 2nd trimester fetal echocardiograms being recommended because of increased NT thickness? Trying to gauge how much my OB recommending the echo was out of an abundance of caution versus actual risk and if another practice doesn't even mention it, then it's likely an overabundance of caution.
@goldie987 I was stressed last week due to an increased NT as well. The measurement was 3.3 so it put us in the 97% percentile. With my finger prick blood work, our chromosomal abnormality risk went from 10% to .25%. She also said my neural tube risks were low due to the way baby looked on ultrasound as well as one of my hormones that can measure that, the level was great. I got my blood drawn for NIPT on Monday. The dr told me 7-10 days as well. She did not mention anything about the heart possibilities. I’m going to bring it up when she calls with my NIPT results. In my non medical opinion, I’m thinking that an echo would only be needed if things didn’t look good at your anatomy scan... but again, that’s just an assumption
@goldie987 - my maternit21 results took 8 days to come back (drawn on Wednesday, got results the next Thursday morning). Fx you get your results soon and they bring good news!
I don’t know about cdh risk and thick nuchal measurement correlation. I know heart defects are common in babies with trisomy 21, but that’s the extent of my knowledge without doing some googling. I would ask your ob if your nipt comes back normal if there’s still a need to do one and if so ask why. I wouldn’t mind doing one, I’d just want to know the research behind it.

When you guys got your Materniti21 results, was it the lab that drew your blood that called, or your doctor or what? The lab that did mine yesterday told me absolutely nothing about how long it would take, how is receive my results...nothing.
I see my OB again on the 24th (so exactly 7 days after my blood draw), so I'm not expecting results from him then since it seems like it might be just a little early, but I'm in the dark, nervous and anxious to get my results.
I had my blood drawn for my Maternit21 test on Tuesday and received my results the following Monday morning.
@MojieJo my doctor's office called me with the results, but you can also call Sequenom (the company that processes the results) to make sure they've received your blood and see if they can provide an estimate on when your testing should be completed. I called them on a Thursday afternoon and they told me they'd received my blood that day and that the testing should be completed sometime between Sunday and Tuesday, barring any issues or needs to retest. I guess it was completed on Sunday, because my doctor's office called me at 8AM Monday morning to give me the results.
@ginny_203 thank you for that! I just got off the phone with them, they got my kit on Thursday (drawn at the very end of the day on tuesday) and said, barring a retest, it'll take 3-5 business days to report to my OB. So Tuesday would be when I can start calling to see if they're in and have an actual chance of them being in.
Any other FTM’s working on a registry yet? I’m bored at work and messing around with mine and honestly wonder if newborns really need half this stuff. Any STM’s have advice on things they absolutely needed, didn’t, wish they registered for, etc.?
@lifesabeach85 when you do barre, what do you usually substitute for the ab work (if not using a prenatal specific dvd)? I want to get back into it but was waiting until I had the all clear from my doctor.. now that I have it, I already have a bump!
@firsttimespartanmom I think you should start a whole new thread on that. Registry tips really deserves its own thread.
@eahayes I usually just modify my position. Like I do a lot on hands and knees in the beginning parts, keep feet flat on the floor for the middle and, and then keep a ball behind my back for the end abs, and just do smaller movement if that makes sense?
@goldie987 no they didn't mention anything like that. Honestly they seemed pretty unconcerned in general about that whole part of it. I didn't even realize the heart problems could be a cause until I came home and researched it
The earliest I will get mine back is Tuesday....I have never wanted to fast forward so much in my life
In my first pregnancy, it was discovered that I have a heart shaped uterus. I had Braxton hicks starting at 15 weeks very regularly, and at 30 weeks they were monitoring me and picked up contractions every minute so they sent me to get the shots to stop labor. I was 50-60% effaced they said, and was on procardia 4x a day after that to control the contractions. Ended up delivering at 34 weeks due to pre-e.
With baby #2, I was being monitored for placenta previa during weeks 16ish-28ish (memory is fuzzy there) and it was discovered I had a shortened and funneling cervix. I do not remember all the terms and numbers, but 2cm sticks out in my head as the cervical length? Not sure if that makes sense. They checked it a few times as they were trying to decide on a cerclage, and I ended up not getting one. Was induced at 39 weeks due to high blood pressure and low fluid.
Is this something I need to be concerned about this pregnancy? I plan to bring it up at my next appt, but for whatever reason I began worrying about it recently. I had one ultrasound at 7 weeks, and as if now wont have another until 20.

I don't have any experience with these issues, but it does seem like something you should worry about with this pregnancy. Well, maybe not worry about it, but be prepared for it. Definitely make sure your doctor knows your whole history, because you may need more frequent appointments than most.
@100dollhairs my mom had a heart shaped uterus and was told her risk of preterm labor was heughtened because of it. If your OB isn't familiar with your history, I would definitely make sure you have all of that for your next appointment. If they are, I'd still ask what their plan was this time around given your past. It's never too early to have a game plan for something like that .
