<b>How far along?</b><span> 23+1</span> <b> Any appointments this week?</b><span> Fetal Echo today, then meeting with a prospective doula afterwards</span><b>
Questions or Concerns...</b><span> Pretty much counting on everything being normal, but still that little nagging worry, "what if it's not?", so it will be a long scan, but a relief to get it behind us. Almost more nervous about meeting the doula! Lol Silly as that sounds...</span>
@BusinessWife for me meeting the doula would make me more nervous too. The fetal echo is more important but none of that is under your control. It is what it is and there's nothing for you to do but show up. The doula you have to think about and make decisions and hope for all these little intangible feelings and things to fall into place. That's how my brain thinks about the situation at any rate. Here's hoping everything goes great today!
I'll be 23+4 tomorrow, going in for regular check, but we're supposed to glance at ultrasound to see if placenta appears to be moving a favorable direction....so crossing fingers that it at least has moved at, as long as it's moving it's not embedding into my scar.

Questions or Concerns... skipping this because they were all answered, but will update.
Ive been irritated quite terribly in my lady bits and have been trying to treat it at home, to much of my displeasure I have a YI and have prescription meds called in. Was also scolded because I wait 4 weeks between visits to ask questions or even bring up that I’ve been having contractions. I just hate being “that pregnant person that asks about everything” plus this is not my first pregnancy so I tend to just think it’s all normal.
<b>Quick update</b>: All is well! Everything looked great at the echo, and the doula meeting was really nice, too! Will update more when I have time ;)
So, not an appt, but i have our amnio results waiting in a voicemail for dh to get home and listen to w me! We have a 25% chance this lik one will have cf too, I’m not even worried about all the other things they tested for.

@smsaulino try not to fret. I felt like inwas feeling less activity too, and turned out baby was just in a different position (bottom down), so that's why I couldn't feel as much. But they still have plenty of time to flip all over the place still, so no worries. I'm sure she's fine! ❤

<b>Longer Echo Update</b>: So like @magnolia305 was saying, the Fetal Echo was actually pretty cool! The sonographer took various measurements and chatted with us... we talked about waiting to find out the sex in the delivery room, too, and she asked us if we have names picked out. I told her I had my girl first name picked out for ages, (since it was my grandmothers,) but that DH had recently asked me if I was, "sure," about it, and I about wanted to kill him. So she asked what it was... turns out her daughter's name is our first daughter's name FN, variation of our second daughter's name for MN! So random. Or trending right now??? :/ but then she said oh, so that's a sign, you for sure have to use it... Dropping hints, or.... idk
When the doctor came in, I made the mistake of asking why they do the echoes for ivf pregnancies, why they think there may be a slight increase in heart defects in those babies, and she said while they dont really know, she suspected maybe it had something to do with the, "population," bc. You know, we infertiles wouldn't have otherwise been able to get pregnant on our own. I must have had a look on my face, cos she's all, what? Did I say something wrong? Omg six different kinds of butthurt I felt in that moment, and not to save my pride and throw H under the bus, I just about bit my tongue off. Whatever.
So as it went on, DH lightened it up a bit making sure I me remind her we didn't want to know the sex, and I'm all, uh, I'm pretty sure she can't tell from looking at the baby's <i>heart</i>! Lol and she just laughed and said, idk, I can tell a lot! And as luck would have it, baby was super cooperative for the doctor and was giving her these beautiful textbook images of the chambers and valves. We got to see the foramen ovale that closes after birth, once baby's lungs inflate. So wild! I wish she would have printed one of those for us, too #nerdalert but that's okay. So special to have the sweet 3d face shot already, we weren't counting on. Makes all the extra testing worth it. ;)
@jhjocelyn congrats on the CF free news! @BusinessWife I'm glad it went well! And sorry that the doctor made a dumb comment (although it sounds like you let her know with your facial expressions and she felt regretful about making the comment!).
@jhjocelyn yay for CF free! And picking a name you like!
@BusinessWife sounds like a mixed bag appointment. It's great that everything looked good, very happy for you that the medical part went well. Too bad some people just don't quite think about what they say before they say it, my face probably would have said more than my mouth too lol.
Even though at my last appointment doc said they'd do a quick scan to check on placenta placement issues today, but apparently had since changed his mind and instead of multiple follow ups, wants to just do hopefully one check on it in another 6-8 weeks. Not real pleased about it just because it could alter my plans so much, and if accreta develops, they'll want to take baby out at 34-35 weeks... I feel like that's something I'd personally prefer to know much before 32 weeks, but still before 30 as well. Glucose test next time...yay.

@pourmeamocktail sorry the doc changed his plans on you about checking placenta placement today. I’m sure in his mind they don’t want you worrying about something too much that could change a lot in the next 6-8 weeks. Unfortunately, that actually means you will be thinking about it in that time. Maybe you could talk about it a little further at your next appointment?
How far along? 21+2 today Any appointments this week? Anatomy Scan Yesterday..
Questions or Concerns... ok...I was nervous going into the scan like something was wrong but just shook it off. Went in and everything was going great...heart great, spine great, brain great, bladder already has urine....great....but..wait....kidneys. ok...there are 2 kidneys...they are obviously productive but are enlarged and there is another spot but it is not bladder or another kidney. Looks like it connects to left kidney but not sure. So of course I burst into tears when the tech says she needs to get the doctor. Long story short....they dont know. It could range from nothing...to something that will correct itself before birth.....to something requiring immediate surgery after birth. She even talked about fetal demise but said that it is a low risk because the kidneys are working there just seems to be a possible plumbing issue. Also said that these type of issues are common in boys and usually do correct themselves with time....SO we are bumped up to high risk and going to see a maternal fetal specialist in next couple weeks for a better quality u/s and specialist diagnosis if necessary.
So there it is..I think the thing that is freaking me out the most is just the unknown. Like, I just need to know what it is so I can be prepared for whatever. I hope it is nothing and it is just their crap equipment....but preparing for the worst I guess??
@Asunshinek oh I'm sorry for the nerve wracking visit. I hate the unknown too, as difficult as it is to just hang tight I'm pretty sure Dr. Google won't be much comfort right now. It's always good to be referred to specialists as needed, and I hope you'll be in good hands. Will keep you in my thoughts and hope for the best!
@Asunshinek sorry you got questions instead of answers at your scan! Hopefully you can see a specialist soon and get some answers. It sounds like everything is working though so that's good
@asunshinek So sorry to hear it I hope the MFM and advanced ultrasound can figure it out and it's minor. Not sure if an anecdote will make you feel any better but I know two women who had similar kidney spots found at AS, both boys, and their kids are now toddlers and totally fine -- whatever the issue was resolved itself in utero. Good luck and keep us posted!
@Asunshinek I’m sorry for the uncertainty and unknown. I hope the specialist has more information and answers for you.
Afm: 22+0. Standard check with the midwife today. My bp was excellent, as was baby’s heart rate. Got the all clear for our trip in a couple weeks and a rx for fiorcet for the migraines. My fear has been developing another debilitating one while DH is traveling for work. Next check is in four weeks with glucose screening.
@Asunshinek try to stay calm until you get in for the better quality scan. (I know, WAY easier said than done when we are talking about our babies, but please try.) MANY of these things do resolve themselves as the pregnancy goes on or it could be the crappy equipment and there's really nothing there in the first place. The MFM should have better answers for you and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that they are good easy answers.
23+5 I'm off to have my whooping cough vaccine tomorrow. Apparently it can make you feel a bit under the weather for a couple of days has anyone else found that?
With DS my arm got pretty sore but it I felt totally fine otherwise.

@Asunshinek - Big hugs. The unknown really is the worst. Hope you get in to the MFM soon it turns out to be something that corrects itself before birth just so you don't have to worry about it.
@Asunshinek I also know of someone who had a similar issue. Also a boy. There was a kink or something in the tubing to his kidneys. They checked him as soon as he was born and he was fine. He's been going for kidney check-ups every few months, but so far everything's been normal. FX it's the same for you and your LO!

How far along? 23+2. Any appointments this week? Had a follow up U/S after the tech was not able to get all of the measurements at my anatomy scan. My Mom and DD came with me! We got all the measurements we needed and baby is growing on track! He weighs 1 lb 3 oz and the highlight of the appointment was getting to see his sweet face in 3D (insert all the heart eyes), which my last tech did not do and we also didn't get to see with DD. The tech said he has a pretty heart and everything looks great I met with my doctor as well and the fibroid discovered at my last U/S has not grown or changed at all. Overall, great news! Scheduled my glucose screen, whooping cough booster and rhogam shot (I'm RH negative) in four weeks.
Questions or Concerns... They didn't give me any instructions for my glucose screen. I will call the office the week before as well to ask, but aren't you supposed to fast prior to doing it?

@southernlady07 definitely ask your doc, but from what I remember with mine, it wasn't a fasting thing or at least not a full fast. I remember having a light breakfast at some point.
@southernlady07 each practice has different procedures, it seems. For mine, you don’t fast (they will send you home if you do), but you eat a protein-centered breakfast and try to avoid sugar/ carbs. Last time, I think they took fasting bloodwork and then I drank it and they took blood an hour later. Not sure if the fasting bloodwork was for the glucose or other prenatal tests.
