Has anyone heard of - or had experience with - a false positive at-home pregnant test due to trace amounts of blood on test?
I have been spotting brown blood for approx 5-7 days.. kept thinking period was coming but it’s never turned into flow
i just took a pregnancy test and it came up positive
I am NOT asking if I’m pregnancy
But I read online that if there’s blood in the urine it can cause a false positive.. would some menstrual blood cause that?
ill follow up with my doctor but it’s 5am so all I have are my thoughts and the internet now.
TIA!
QFP

Hi, do you have any constructive advice or experience? I’m not sure from articles online if menstrual blood could cause this if some of it mixed with urine or if they’re saying actual blood cells within urine due to medical issues. Thanks!

OP I would suggest calling/visting your doctor and they can run a blood test to confirm if you got a false positive.

*lurking* OP, you have essentially walked into a room of strangers who are struggling to get pregnant and told them, "hey guys I have a poitive test but I don't REALLY believe it, but don't worry I'm not asking if I'm pregnant so answer my super important question at 5am cause I need immediate answers". Just fyi, that doesn't really go over well. Call your doctor. If you are pregnant please move to your bmb, there is no need to come back and update these lovely ladies. Good luck.
